About Sundar Pichai

Sundar Pichai spoke at Google Cloud's Gemini at Work event in October 2026, where he discussed enterprise adoption of the company's AI products. He stated that nearly 80% of Google Cloud customers are actively using its AI products and that nearly 500 enterprise customers processed over one trillion tokens on the platform in the past year. He also said the Gemini app has one billion users and that nearly 90% of Fortune 100 companies use Gemini Enterprise at work. During the event, he described the company's full-stack approach to AI and introduced features such as Gemini agents with memory capabilities and integrations with BigQuery and the Knowledge Catalog. Pichai also participated in a White House AI luncheon with President Donald Trump and other technology executives in late September 2026. During that meeting, Trump referred to Pichai as a "monster" in a remark that went viral; Pichai responded with humor, saying he hoped for "a better tagline." Pichai discussed the benefits and risks of AI, saying the technology has "incredible benefits" and "very real risks," and emphasized the importance of winning the AI race while addressing safety. He also commented on the evolution of jobs, saying that roles will change but that unemployment has not increased and there is "tremendous demand for people." In a February 2026 appearance at the World Governments Summit, Pichai discussed quantum computing progress, saying a computation performed in five minutes would have taken a supercomputer over 10 septillion years, and predicted practically useful quantum computers within five to ten years. He said it is "too early to regulate" quantum technology but that governments should prepare for it, particularly regarding encryption.
