Welcome back GCU. We are so excited to kick off First Chapel today. Well, we're about to sing about the immovable power of our God. For our God is capable when we are incapable. He is our stronghold in our failing and that is why we put our hope and our trust in Lord Jesus and that's why we come together and we declare his name and we sing his praises. So let's sing this together.
Sing just one word. You calm the storm that surrounds me. Just one word. The darkness has to retreat. Just one touch, I feel the presence of heaven. Just one touch. My eyes were open to see. My heart can't help but God. There's not a mountain that he can't move. Oh, praise the name that makes a way. There's nothing that our God can do. No. And just one word. You heal what's broken inside me. Just one word and you revive every dream. Just one touch. I feel the power of heaven. Oh, just one touch. My eyes were open to see. My heart can't help but believe. There's nothing that our God can do. There's not a mountain that he can't move. Oh, praise the name that makes a way. There's nothing that our God can't do. No, there's nothing that our God can't do. There's not a prison wall he can't break through. Oh, praise the name that makes a way. There's nothing that our God can do.
There's nothing and I will believe for greater things. There's no power like the power of Jesus. Let faith arise. Let all agree. There's no power like the power of Jesus. So I will believe for greater things. There's no power like the power of Jesus. Let faith arise. Let all agree. There's no power like the power of Jesus. So I will believe for greater things. There's no power like the power of Jesus. Let faith arise. Let's all agree. There's no power like his power. There's nothing that our God can do. There's not a mountain that he can move. Oh, praise the name that makes the way. There's nothing that our God. There's nothing that our God do. There's not a prison wall. can't break through. Oh, praise the name that makes the way. There's nothing that our God can't do. Woah. Woah. Oh. Woah. Woah. Woah. Oh. Oh. There's nothing you can't do.
You've been to me. You took the mess that I was and you have done some incredible things. You've been to me ever hoped you would be. And you took the mess that I was. And you have done some incredible things. You always knew there was a better me, but you love me like I was. You're filling up the spaces in between. You've always been enough. You are making me into something that I could never have seen. And you are doing exceedingly more than I could ever have dreamed. You are making me into something that I could ever see. And you are doing exceedingly more than I could ever dream. You always knew there was a better me. But you love me like I was. Filling up the spaces in between. You've always been enough. Nobody else as good. Nobody else as kind. Nobody else will lay their life down on the line. Nobody else could do it. Even if they tried, nobody else could come and save me every time. You've been just that good. You're good to me. You've been just that good. so good to me. Oh Lord, without your love, where would I be? Oh my God, you've sure been good to me.
He's a good good father. You didn't have to take my sin, but you did. And I won't forget it. You didn't have to call me friend, but you did. And I won't forget it. And I'm praising you because you didn't leave me like I was. You didn't have to save my soul. But you did. and I won't forget it. You didn't have to take my shame. But you did and I won't forget it. You didn't have to call my name. But you did and I won't forget it. And I'm praising you because you didn't leave me like I was. You didn't have to save my soul cuz you did and I won't forget it. You didn't have to die for me, but you did and I won't forget it. You didn't have to set me free. But you did and I won't forget it. And I'm praising you because you didn't leave me like I was. You didn't have to save my soul. But you did. And I won't forget it. And I'm praising you because And I'm praising you because you didn't leave me like I was. You didn't leave me like I was. And I'm praising you because And I'm praising you because you didn't leave me like I was. Like I was. And I'm praising you because I praise you because you didn't leave me like I was. You didn't leave me like I was. And I praise you because I pray you be good. Oh, you've been just that good. You're good to me. But you've been just that good. So good to me. Oh Lord, without your love, where would I be? Oh Lord, without your love, where would I be? Oh Lord, without your love, where would I be? Oh my God, you've sure been good to me.
You always knew there was a better me, but you love me like I was. Oh, you're filling up the spaces in between. You've always been enough.
Oh, he's coming back again. There is a day coming when the old will pass away. Every wrong will be made right. No darkness, no night. The sun will light the way. There is a king. There is a king coming. The one who conquered death and grave. No more pain and no more sorrow. This hope for tomorrow is our hope for today. He who was, he who is, he who was, he who is, he who is to come. Christ, the son of man, riding on the clouds with a crown upon his head. Oh, every eye will see him with the nail scars in his hands. Hallelu. Hallelu. He's the only one worthy. There's only one worthy of all glory and all praise, all wealth and all honor. Speak wisdom and power to the lamb that was slain. Oh, he who is to come Christ the son of man riding on the clouds with the crown upon his head. Oh, every eye will see him with the nail scars in his hands. Hallelu. Hallelu. Hallelu. Hallelujah.
Oh, we feel it. God, he is surely coming. Oh, can you feel it, too? All this tension growing stronger. It's just a sign he's getting closer. He's already on the move. Oh yeah. This story has been written. We all know how it is. My future has an anchor. My eyes are on the savior. Oh, he's coming back again. He's coming back again. He who is to come. Christ the son of man riding on the clouds with the crown upon his head. Oh every eye will see him with the nail scars in his hands. Hallelu hallelu. He who is to come. Oh Christ the son of man riding on the clouds with the crown upon his head. Oh every eye will see him with the nail scars in his hands. Hallelujah. Hallelu. Hallelu. Hallelu. Hallelu. Hallelu.
Dear God, we thank you so much for the hope that we have in you, God. We know that in this world we will have troubles, but that we can take heart because you have overcome the world, Jesus. God, would you remind us of that? Would you give us hope and peace in the midst of our hardest times? And would we continually look to you? We praise you, God, in Jesus name. Amen.
Well, good morning, GCU. Yeah. Welcome to the first chapel of the semester. Turn to somebody and say, "Welcome to chapel." Well, hopefully you've had a great start to the semester and uh we hope that this will be a regular part of your week to come together on these Monday mornings to worship the Lord together. Get our week started in fellowship and in worship. Great way to kick off the week. Got a couple of announcements for you. Number one, the life group program, life groups that'll be happening around campus. They kick off next week. So, be sure you find one. They'll be happening around uh campus in every building. Uh you can find a life group. Secondly, spiritual formation. We'll be doing workshops in Echo. Yeah. They'll begin on Mondays at 5:00 p.m. So, they'll meet there today if you'd like to go and learn a little bit about spiritual disciplines. Today at five o'clock, the gathering on Tuesday nights will go at 7:30. We had a packed house last Tuesday evening, standing room only, so you want to get there early uh if you're going to participate in the gathering. Uh we'll be going through uh in that study uh the book of Genesis in chapel. We'll be going through the hall of faith and you're going to hear from President Mueller this morning as he gets it kicked off for us. Thursday night is the sanctuary. Uh it is at 7:30 in Sunset Auditorium. And for those of you that like something a little bit quieter, more reflective, contemplative, Thursday nights in Sunset Auditorium is for you. So, you will see after the service before you leave, uh, every Monday morning following chapel, we'll have an announcement of who's going to be speaking the upcoming Monday. And so, you can, uh, kind of make a note to yourself who will be speaking next week. But today, this morning, the first chapel of the year, would you welcome President Brian Mueller?
