Hello, hello. Thank you for having me.
Thank you for being here. I called you Oz, I apologize.
It's like somebody owes you money. Joy, it's a weird name.
What kind of name is it? Israeli name?
Israeli. Yeah. It's not a stage name. Otherwise it would have been Bob or Bill. Everyone would have gotten it right.
So, Oz, you're a very gifted mentalist. Anyone out there who's seen your work might think you actually are reading people's minds, right? But you say that's not it. So what are you doing?
I wish so. I am not a mind reader. I am not a psychic. I don't have supernatural powers. I am not teaching you to be psychic in this book. It's all about habits for success. I've learned how to read people more effectively, how to navigate how people think and use that to my advantage to entertain you, to create deeper bonds and connections. It's not a magic or mentalism book.
Interesting. Okay. Yeah. I don't know. Do I have a question? I don't know. She's like, is he reading my mind right now? I don't believe him. I literally don't even want to think. Don't even think. Okay. So your new book, yes, we have right here, is called Read Your Mind, and you write that anyone can apply these principles of mentalism to your everyday life 100%. So give us an example of like what we could do.
So I think people in their lives think about what you want. You want to be seen, you want to be heard, you want to be understood. And just now, what you're all doing here, being in front of millions of people, most of us have dread, anxiety, right? The level of confidence you have, the fact that you've overcome fear of rejection and failure, that takes years to do.
I forgot people were watching. Us, as you said. It was like, oh my God, you're making me panic.
But what if you could fast track that, right? I used to work on Wall Street. I had a day job, I quit my job. Everyone thought I was crazy to do that. And so everyone looks like an overnight success until you look at the years of work you put in. And what I want to do is teach you how to walk into a room and be the most memorable person when you walk out. How to connect with people on a deeper level, right? How to analyze people's body language in ways that allow you to know, are they really interested in me? When they say, I want to see you again? You know, in your relationships, at work, when you're walking up to your boss to determine when's the best moment to approach them to get the raise that you deserve, right? How do you learn people's patterns? Watch. Think about this. Every single person you meet is the star of their own movie. You're each the star of your movie. Everyone else is just supporting roles. The more you can make other people feel like the star of your movie, the more you'll connect with them deeply.
I'm thinking right now that I would have loved to have a mentalist as my stock trader, though.
That's my former profession. Yeah. Everyone, I want you to do this together. I want you to imagine a scenario that makes everyone happy. Every year of life is a blessing. You're each at your birthday party. I'm going to put you on the spot and see faces in front of you. Right now, in this moment, I'd like for it to be spontaneous. See people around you that you care about and love, family, friends. See them in your mind right now. And I want each of you to imagine everyone saying, happy birthday, happy birthday, son. And somebody you know right over here, Alyssa. Imagine you're at your birthday. You seem very popular. A lot of people are there, and one person walks up, they give you a big hug. See it in your mind. Can you see it?
If that person was having a birthday party, would they invite you, and you'd go to your calendar? Watch what she just did. Did you see in her mind? What do I do? I read people for a living. She goes, would they invite me? And she thought in her mind of their birthday. Watch her face, try not to react. January. February, March. April. May, June. July. They're born in February, aren't they?
Yeah. That's so crazy. How do you know that? You could have thought of anybody. I just want to be crystal clear. This is not... My best friend, Alex.
Oh, sorry. I just ruined the whole thing.
Way better if you don't tell the mind reader the thing. Hold on. Hold on. I thought the guessing the month was no February. But February is 28 days. Could be a leap year. Trying to attract beginning, middle, end. Beginning, middle, end. Close your eyes, please. What's Alex's birthday? Tell us. February. February 11th. February 11th.
Oh, that's so weird. Can I see notice?
I see Anna next to me. I saw her cross her arms. You don't need no body language to her. Be like, you can't do that to me, I bet. Did you see that look?
She's like Alyssa gives it away. Might as well give her social security away on camera.
That's. You know what? The same scenario I had everyone dream up a big hug. You look at your person and notice what you did. You looked up. Now what does that mean? It's body language. You looked up. It's a guy. Is this a guy you were seeing?
And then think of his first name and count the letters to yourself. Instant nod. If the name was long, it's a struggle. If the name is instant, you don't count. You know, it was three or four letters. I don't know what's the name. We only have three minutes. What's the name? Ken. It's a three-letter name, isn't it? It's Ken.
