No, this is not clickbait. This is in fact the final episode of Better Call Saul Sexton. No, we're not coming back with some different title. This isn't just something to get you to click through. 122 episodes, 9 months, 100,000 plus subscribers, and this is your last chance to get after it.
Well, you know, my career has been built around the concept that all good things must come to an end, and today marks the end of Better Call Saul Sexton. I can't say forever, who knows. You know, sometimes when things end, you think they're over forever, and it turns out they pop up in another form. But for now, this looks like this is going to be the last episode of Better Call Saul Sexton. The show has been a tremendous success. 9 months, 122 episodes, 100,000 plus subscribers. There are people that would probably give a limb to have that kind of organic real growth. But this really was meant to be a passion project, and it's really reached a point now where the amount of work that's involved in creating a show that's worthy of all of your attention and all of your time is really just too much for me to do.
Look, the truth is, and I've always been open about this, my first love is and will always be the practice of divorce law. I've been a practicing attorney for 25 plus years, and I love it. I love every single day I get to do that job. And my first obligation is always going to be to my clients. I have two books coming out in the next 12 months. One non-fiction, one fiction. I have editors who are waiting for me to send them revised manuscripts that I'm just not getting to because the amount of time that it takes to put together this show and do it the right way is just really eating up bandwidth that my clients need, my writing needs. So, we're going to say goodbye. I'd rather leave on a high note. I'd rather leave while we are at the top of our game and on our ascent rather than our decline. So that's going to be the end of Better Call Sexton.
I cannot tell you how much I've enjoyed every bit of it. I would be remiss if I didn't thank a couple of people. First of all, I want to thank Kevin for believing in this project and being the other voice in the room even though he never once went on camera. He was an incredibly important voice and the reason why this all happened. I want to thank Matt Marlinksky, our amazing producer at the Manhattan Lab. If you ever need to record a podcast in New York City, the Manhattan Lab is the place to be. It was such an upgrade and Matt is a phenomenal producer, engineer, just a person with an eye for things and the sound of things. You see, I watched in sort of preparation for this the early episodes before we started working with Matt here in the studio and the production was so abysmally bad. And it went up so much when we came here. So I want to thank Matt for all of his incredible hard work.
I want to thank Lewis who did all of our thumbnails and got all of our sponsors for us and really did a lot of the heavy lifting of things. Lewis is the guy behind the guy behind the guy and he's just a brilliant mind that I'm really grateful for. I want to thank my son, Will Sexton, who was early on in the show and before he went off and found his own channel and did his own things. He worked with us here for a little while and I'd be remiss if I didn't thank him. And I want to again thank Kevin for really being the person who believed in all of this and was the one who helped make it happen. There are a lot of people to thank, but most of all I want to thank every single one of you. I want to thank every person that subscribed, every person who enjoyed the show. It is absolutely heartbreaking to know that there are a bunch of you that look forward to every couple of days having a new episode of Better Call Sexton or Cross Examination to watch and I'm not going to be able to give you that anymore.
What I can tell you is I'm going to continue to be a prolific guest. You will never shut me up. I will always be appearing on things. I have a huge number of really A-list podcast appearances lined up when my new book comes out early next year. So, you'll be seeing a lot of me, as you did before Better Call Saul Sexton. There are a lot of people that don't actually even know that the show happened. So, those of you who are watching this, you're kind of in the know behind the scenes, and you really got to be part of something special. But I just want to tell each and every one of you how much I appreciate all of the messages we get, all the comments that we had, good and bad and indifferent. I just want to thank... There's so much stuff out there to consume, so much media, so many choices. And the fact that so many of you looked forward to each and every episode of this, it is absolutely deeply touching to me.
This was a very personal show from day one, and it's a show that I'm really proud of. I think we did 122 really fun episodes, and I really want to thank each and every one of you for making it successful. I want to thank the people who sponsored the show. I want to thank the wonderful people at Soul, Out of Office Gummies. I'm still a huge fan. Proper Cloth, amazing shirts. Marwick Health. I want to just thank everybody. Rocket Money. I want to thank everybody involved who was a sponsor of the show, because we really did benefit from having you. I was very selective when we did this show that I was only going to use a sponsor's products I actually used and actually saw value in. And that made it a little bit tougher from a financial standpoint, because there's a cost to creating this show, but it was worth it to know that I was only steering you to people that I believe in. So, please support those sponsors still, because those are really great companies and companies I believe in and companies that I'm really proud to be a customer of.
So, I want to thank each and every one of you for this. There's a lot ahead. There'll be lots more Sextons. It just won't be exactly on this channel. I would ask you to stay a subscriber and maybe even hit the notification bell, because I will probably from time to time just pop in and throw up some kind of a video. It's pretty hard to shut me up. So, every now and then I'll probably pop in, and if you have notifications on, you'll get a notification that something's come up on the channel. I'm not deleting the channel. It's still going to be here. And who knows, life is long, and this team is a great team, and I'd love to work with them again someday. This is a really personal decision.
The truth is, and maybe this is something that each of you might struggle with in your own ways, is there's a lot of things we could do with our time. There are so many places we could put our energy and our attention. And now there are more forces than ever just competing for your attention and competing for my attention, too. And it's really, really easy to wake up in the morning and just doom scroll, or just turn around and see what the algorithm wants to feed you, and the next thing you know, it's been an hour or an hour and a half, and you didn't get to the gym, or you didn't read that book, or you didn't write that email that you wanted to write to someone, or write those few pages in a journal that you wanted to, or meditate, or exercise, do any of the things that you might have wanted to do. So, I am really trying in ending this channel to remind myself to make space for things in my life, make space for personal things, spending time.
You know, I shared with all of you my cabin in the woods, and my fortress of solitude that I call it. I've basically not gone up there at all on weekends so that I could be in the city to still record the show on Sundays. And one of the things I really want to make room for is myself, and the opportunity to continue to just see where creativity comes to me, to finish the two books I'm working on, one non-fiction, one fiction, my first fiction, both of which have been picked up by publishers, so I'm super excited to share them with all of you, and to do the media rounds that come with coming out with the new books. But I got to finish writing the books, and that requires me to be someplace where I can sit in the quiet and do that work.
I also want to continue with my passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Again, when I've recorded on Tuesdays, I tended to skip the Jiu-Jitsu class I normally would go to on Tuesday nights. And you know, the older that I get, the more that I realize that there's going to be lots of time, I hope, to talk and reflect and share things with you and the audience, and to share with friends. But there won't be all that much more time to, you know, use my body for things like jiu-jitsu, to have the opportunity to write books and to put them out into the world. So, I really want to take that opportunity now. So, this is a fond farewell.
Thank you all again for every single moment of this. I don't know you, but I care about every single one of you. I wish all of you all the best and thank you for every minute of your attention that you gave to this show. I can tell you I'm incredibly proud of the work that Kevin and Matt and Lewis and I did here together and I really hope we'll cross paths again soon. And if you're in New York City, come down to 60 Centre Street and watch me in action because the one thing that no one will ever drag me out of is the practice of law. You can take me out of that courthouse feet first.
Thank you all so very much for every minute of this. Thanks for being part of the Better Call Sexton journey. I appreciate and love each and every one of you and we are adjourned.
