The first thing I'd like to do is have our hosts introduce any guests they may have. And let's start with this table right over here. Yes.
Mr. Steve Bird from Fleming Bird Tent and Awning. Wow, Fleming Bird. Nice to see you. Welcome. Welcome. Thank you. Okay.
Let's go back to the table right here. Right here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, everyone's looking around. Anybody here have a guest? Uh, Ernie, any... Okay, the table behind that. Yes.
None there. Okay, how about the back? Yes, sir. I can't hear you. With his wife? I will be happy to have her here. Okay, great.
That's right. That's right. I got my wife here, too. My wife is standing. All right. Okay, next table. Anyone? How about here? Anyone?
Okay, let's go back here. Anyone? Way in the back. Okay, let's start here.
Ken Yates 1:41 ↗
I'm Ken Yates. I'm Ken Yates.
Jeff 1:44 ↗
Welcome, Ken. Do you all have anyone to introduce? All right. Your husband? Well, that's a one-up, isn't it? Uh, yes, sir.
I have the pleasure to bring Tom Merrick. He's a former member and he's sending me and you a membership again. Very good. Very good.
The far table there, anyone? And then right over here. Yes. Hi.
This is Ernie Price. He is with the National Park Service. He's worked in several different locations within the Park Service, including Acadia and Zion. Currently, he's the superintendent at Camp Nelson National Monument.
Very good. Ernie, it's good to have you here. And by the way, it's a great place for you all to go on a nice, pretty weekend. Camp Nelson has really—they've done a lot over there and it's a very interesting place to see. Anyone here?
Okay, well, listen, thank you all and you're the guest. We're delighted to have you and hope that you can become members. Yes, we have one more.
Okay, you're good. I'm glad to have you all here. Thank you, Jeff. Okay, yeah, why don't we hear from our secretary, Bill?
Bill 3:23 ↗
Thanks, Jeff. Sure. Good evening. I want to mention the new members we have. We have some I'm going to recognize. Kevin Tudor, who I understand may not be here with us tonight.
Prentice Harvey. I think Prentice is here. Would you please stand, Prentice? And then the Coulter Falls, we got one more new member, couple's member, Daniel and Jessica Parker. You all—yeah. Well, there's one.
As most of you are aware, we lost an icon of this organization for history in Kentucky since the last meeting. And I'm talking about Dr. Charles Rowland. I would ask for a moment of silence.
Thank you. Ken may have more on him later, but I got to know him through my mother and he was at University of Kentucky Press. We have 210 members and we're always looking for more. So, you know, keep your eyes on the lookout for people that might be interested in the United States and steer them our way.
Now, since the last meeting, we have had nominations for the Board of Directors. And we have three people and I'm going to mention them. Alan Denny, Larry Steiner, and Tom Sabak. And I would like to have them elected by acclamation.
And we're always looking for other new members and if you know of somebody you want to be officers, address me or Ken. So, but those three are now on our board by acclamation. So, you will be hearing from us at the next meeting.
