Well, Fractal Analytics co-founder, whole-time director, group chief executive, and executive vice chairman Srikanth Velamakanni joins us. Srikanth sir, do you hold all the top roles in the entire organization?
Srikanth sir, welcome on the show. I'll come to the results. The verdict looks good on the screens, how the stock is outperforming in a bad market. But we didn't discuss this during the IPO. I always wondered what Fractal does. Based on what I read, I used to assume what the business might be. Since you're here today, I'll start with that part because it's my first time meeting you in person. Mumbai-headquartered business-to-business AI, meaning artificial intelligence company, the first listed pure-play enterprise AI company in the country. In simple words, Srikanth sir, what does Fractal do? It's an IT company. How is your business different from those listed traditional IT giants? What do you do differently?
First of all, I want to tell you that Fractal is not an IT company. Fractal builds AI for large enterprises. The decisions they make, billions of decisions a day, we bring algorithms to improve those decisions so their revenue grows, efficiency increases, and their new products become very successful. That's what we do. We build algorithms. And now, as you see, AI models are making a lot of progress. Every time an AI model progresses, the work that is currently being done by humans in enterprises can be done by AI. It can be augmented or automated, and their accuracy improves. When it can steadily, predictably, and repeatedly improve human performance, AI comes in. So Fractal builds AI so that companies can reimagine their business flows and workflows, increase their growth, improve their efficiency, and make new product interactions more successful.
You know, Srikanth sir, whenever AI is mentioned these days, what comes to my mind are Anthropic, their Claude, their new Claude plugins, ChatGPT, Gemini. Are these your actual competitors, or do you work around their offerings to provide your services to enterprises? What kind of relationship do you have with them?
I want to tell you one thing. Just imagine that Claude has launched 4.7 instead of 4.6, or GPT 5.4 has been launched instead of 5.3. When these announcements come, does it benefit or harm Fractal? It benefits Fractal a lot because when these model improvements happen, Fractal's Cogent AI platform builds ontologies on top of them and builds agentic workflows on top of them, helping companies reimagine their processes. So when these models improve, the accuracy of the entire stack increases. This increases our penetration and improves client results. So while Fractal in some ways competes with them, their models are underlying all of Fractal's products. Because of this, all this improvement is also reflected in our products.
So in simple words, these giants who are widely discussed these days, you make their offerings, their LLMs, useful for enterprises. You customize them for enterprises. Can I say that?
You can say that. But what often happens is that these models are general models. Their general knowledge is quite high, their capabilities are quite high. But the real work is with enterprise data. The inside data of an enterprise is not exposed to anyone, and their systems are complex. So now, when we build models, we tune them on enterprise data. We build enterprise models. If we also bring general knowledge on top of that, it's even better. So we take these models and combine them with our own models. That's how we improve results. So for us, it's a complementary product, and when the accuracy of this complementary product improves, Fractal's entire business improves.
