What are you showcasing here?

Oh, so obviously this is an AI event. So most of the products that we are showcasing here are around the GPU products. For example, we have the platforms that are based on Nvidia, the latest products which is the B300 or the Blackwell 300 products. And what we have here is the HGX product lines that we are showcasing as well as for inferencing. We have the PCIe Express-based GPUs, primarily like RTX 6000 which is used for inferencing. And we also have AMD Instinct-based, such as MI355-based platforms, liquid-cooled and air-cooled that we are showcasing here. And also we have the edge products that are going to be used for inferencing, not necessarily in the data centers but going close to the customers where the action is happening. And also we have a few products that are related to compute and storage. So effectively we want to showcase the products that are relevant to bring AI to the customers at scale, whether it is a small enterprise customer or if it is going to be a huge data center running into maybe hundreds of megawatts to a gigawatt level that we have done outside. We are at least coming here and showcasing so people are aware of what we can help the customers with.

What is Supermicro doing to enable advanced data centers to host the latest technology?

Excellent question. So if you take a look at it today, power is one of the most difficult parts to get in, right? And the data centers that need to host this AI compute require a lot of power, and this power needs to be utilized a lot more efficiently and effectively. What Supermicro is trying to do is twofold. One is enabling these data centers to bring technology first and bring the systems live quickly. That's one part of it. Second is it is not easy to just go build a data center because there are several things that are going to come into picture. Supermicro is doing something called a DCBS or Data Center Building Block Solutions, which look at the entire data center from the system to a rack to multiple racks, including networking, compute, and storage to go along with it. Air and liquid cooling to go along with it, with water towers and chillers to bring that cold water to take the heat away. When you bring up all these things together, there are different partners and different customers that are going to come into picture. So Supermicro is pulling all these things together to work with the ecosystem partners to enable customers to adopt the technology quickly and more effectively and efficiently. That's what Supermicro has that is relevant to the Indian market.

How has Supermicro been relevant in the Indian market so far?

Oh, see AI is something relatively new, right? However, if you take a look at the compute, there's plenty of compute that is being consumed in India. You know, Supermicro has been a relevant player through our partners in HPC as a part of it in small and medium-sized businesses. Often times it may not even have the Supermicro brand name. It's probably our partners' brand names that actually be on the products. We've been there in the market. So whether it's compute or storage, we are very much there. And now when people are deploying these systems at scale, one of the things about managing the systems as well as being able to provision these resources, so we are working directly ourselves as well as through our partners in enabling customers for that.

How do you collaborate with the local partners?

Supermicro has always been working with the channel, and we have several partners. Some of them have been working with us for more than 25, even 30 years. So we work with them. And in many cases, the technology changes are happening a lot more rapidly right now. So what we are trying to do is to engage with the customers, especially the larger end users. We work with them directly. We have sizable teams that are working with them in bringing the awareness of technology. And when the customers are actually going to buy these products, this is where the channel partners come into picture. Sometimes they buy through our channel partners, and most of the times for that matter. And also the support service and the post-sale support and reverse logistics, there are plenty of things that need to be done. This is where the partner ecosystem comes into picture to enable customers to adopt our technology in India.

So India is a huge, huge, huge market. I mean we're talking about more than 1.4 billion people, and the amount of data that is there and the amount of technology that is actually coming from India is so incredible, right? So now how can we make the user experience better? How can we make the lives better? This is how every one of these companies that I'm seeing around in this particular event, I'm seeing it's all about making the human experience better. And with the talent that is available here in India and the size of the market that is present, I think it is all about understanding what people are trying to do and what we can bring into the ecosystem. How collectively as an industry, and also thanks to the government support, we can bring these solutions to the customers and accelerate the adoption of AI. That's what I'm seeing right now.

So if you take a look at it, currently in India much of our business is happening through our channel partners. And as you look at what is happening with respect to AI, a few things. Number one is we need to enable the customers with the best products and technology, not in terms of just selling, but these deployments are actually quite complex. You're talking about billions and billions of dollars going into each and every data center. The one thing that people want is stuff to be up and running reliably over a period of time. So we are bringing the technology partners and we are enabling them, as well as we are hiring our own people to help these customers. That's number one. Second is Make in India is one of those very important factors. We are carefully looking at that part of it to see what actually makes sense to make in India, whether it's through us or through our partners. So the investments are put in the right place. That way we don't duplicate the efforts but we are able to accelerate the innovation here.
