All right. So, I think we all know this guy right here, Justin Sun. Justin, you are one busy dude. We spoke at Consensus in February in Hong Kong, and so much has happened since then. So, what keeps you up at night? How do you feel your time? What's going on? Tell us about your life so far.
Justin Sun 0:30 ↗
Yeah. My life is pretty good. So we have that company, Tron, go IPO in the US I think in July, and I go to space in August.
Interviewer 0:50 ↗
And you came back thankfully from space, right?
Justin Sun 0:52 ↗
Yes. It's safe. Yeah. And for September we have a decentralized perps launch. So yeah, we are keep doing, I will think like every month a major event.
Interviewer 1:15 ↗
Sure. Absolutely. So you guys launched your DEX, SunPerp, pretty recently. Now DEXs aren't a new thing but in the last few months we've seen a big interest in Hyperliquid, in Aster, and now your DEX. So why the interest right now?
Justin Sun 1:32 ↗
Yes. So first of all I think perpetual futures has been like one of the most important things originally invented in crypto industry, right? Besides perps is stablecoins, you know, it's basically everybody asking the question why crypto, right? I think these are the two things invented by the cryptocurrency industry. And perps I think recently get lots of attraction because I think it solved the problem of efficiency. So before I think we have seen some of the perps in the past, you know, two three years. But the problem is always about the efficiency, right? So is the user experience close to centralized exchange? That's the question, right? So if it's hard to trade and the latency problems and the UX problems be there, it won't be like very efficient. Hyperliquid I think is the first example I think to the industry, decentralized perps, same efficiency compared to centralized perps. So I think that's answer the question, so that's why it become I think more and more popular like recently.
Interviewer 3:18 ↗
Okay so then how do you onboard the next users to DEXs for perps? Is it about UI/UX or is it about tight spreads or what's how do you do this?
Justin Sun 3:28 ↗
Yeah, for SunPerp I think it's pretty natural because we are one of the largest stablecoin networks in the world. And one of the most important use cases for stablecoins is trading perps, right? So that's initially lots of people get in to start to use USDT in the first place. So we have a big liquidity around $80 billion on the network. So it's natural for them to take the leverage of the capital to trade perps on Tron. So SunPerp will expand to other networks as well, you know, Solana, Ethereum, other Layer 2 solutions, but the first focus will be on Tron network. Yeah. Because we have a very large amount of the capital around like $80 billion haven't been deployed yet. And also that's also I think it's very important to Tron network because people is thinking Tron network is a network basically people make stablecoin payments rather than trading with their stablecoins. I think one of the reasons is before that in crypto all different tokens launched in different blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, like BNB chain, all different blockchains, Tron blockchain. But you cannot get all the exposure on one blockchain using stablecoins. But I think perp trading can solve this problem as well because you can settle with USDT with one single stablecoin using one blockchain, right? So you can trade every token on Tron now using SunPerp. I think that's also, and not even mentioning the capital efficiency, perps is also better than spot trading because you can trade $1 with $10, 10x leverage. So that's why I think the capital efficiency is also higher, you know, in terms of perps, now even mentioning you can long or short, you know, both sides is very important too. So for this I think definitely is a positive development in all aspects on the blockchain.
Interviewer 6:17 ↗
Okay. So, next up stablecoins. We have USDC, USDT and also USDD your stablecoin, right? It's a pretty crowded space I have to say. So, how does USDD stand out compared to the others?
Justin Sun 6:32 ↗
Yes. So I think USDD is an amazing product because it's a stablecoin but it's a decentralized stablecoin. So that's why I think it's very important because in crypto industry we want something, you know, uncensored, but same time we want the stability of US dollars, right? So that's what USDD is offering. So right now USDD is on TRON and Ethereum. So on these two blockchains it only take the major stablecoins and the network tokens to mint USDD. So it's very safe and is decentralized. So I think that's the reason for using USDD. And also the same time I think people in the decentralized perps I think in the future will also start to use decentralized stables. Right now I think we can see Hyperliquid is USDC, sorry, on some perps is USDT. I think that's the first stage and the later stage I think decentralized stables will be used for DEX trading as well because it's decentralized.
