From New Age HR: How to Drive Employee Engagement (Without Burning Out!) · · Corporate Christie
“Employee experience is the input. Employee engagement is the output — engagement is a measurement of how connected people feel, but you need to fix the broken moments of the employee experience in the right order to raise engagement.”
On , Jennifer Christie, Chief People Officer at DOCUSIGN INC, spoke about employee experience during New Age HR: How to Drive Employee Engagement (Without Burning Out!) on Corporate Christie.
Jennifer Christie, Chief People Officer at Docusign, has spoken in several interviews and webinars in 2024 and 2025 about the company's approach to AI, hybrid work, and employee engagement. She stated that Docusign has "leaned into AI" and that she has partnered with the company's CIO to roll out AI tools to employees, focusing on helping them understand how to use the technology to be more productive. Christie noted that while employees are excited about AI, they also feel nervous and ask "what does this mean for me?" She said her team's approach is to focus on "what you're going to do instead" of what AI will take away. Regarding workplace culture, Christie described the post-pandemic dynamic between employers and employees as a "relationship" where "trust matters" and "power dynamics matter." She said Docusign took a "role-based approach" to hybrid work, reclassifying about half of its roles as remote and half as hybrid, with hybrid employees coming in two days a week. Christie also discussed the importance of internal mobility, stating that "our ability to fill roles internally" will be a differentiator, and emphasized that she would rather hire someone "who's highly motivated and curious" than someone who "checks all the boxes."
