Martha Galley, Chief Sustainability Officer at Calix, has discussed the company’s approach to AI adoption and broadband expansion in recent appearances. In a November 2025 podcast, she stated that Calix is pursuing an "AI-first approach" driven by a mission to help customers "simplify, innovate, and grow." She emphasized starting with value and customer experience rather than technology, and advocated for lowering the stakes for initial AI use cases to overcome resistance. Galley also noted the rapid speed of AI technology adoption, saying what once took years now takes weeks or months, and stressed the importance of creating a community focused on how humans transition to using AI. In earlier interviews from 2021 to 2023, Galley described Calix’s role in helping service providers and communities expand broadband networks, particularly in light of government funding programs like BEAD. She said Calix partners with both traditional and non-traditional providers to build "future-proof networks" and helps them demonstrate accountability for funding. Galley also discussed leadership principles, including hiring people who can surpass you, establishing clear vision, and leading with empathy. She stated that she chose to join Calix because of the quality of its people, its mission to make the world a better place, and the company’s moral code.
