Christopher Young, Microsoft’s executive vice president of business development, strategy, and ventures, has been discussing the evolution of AI from generating responses to performing tasks on behalf of users, describing a shift toward “agentic” AI and co-pilots that can carry out work. In a January 2025 appearance, he said AI will “infuse our lives in almost everywhere we use technology” and emphasized the need for responsible AI principles, government engagement, and regulation.
