Kanav Hasija, cofounder and chief product officer of Innovaccer, has discussed the company's transition from a horizontal data SaaS platform to a healthcare-focused business. In a 2025 interview, he described the decision to fire all customers in October 2016 to focus solely on healthcare, which he said reduced annual recurring revenue from $5 million to $0.5 million in one day)Skip. He stated that the company later sold zero in healthcare for seven months before gaining three customers in May 2017. Hasija also said he plans to spend the next decade or two in the construction industry, which he described as the world's largest industry with declining productivity over the last three decades. At HIMSS 2023, Hasija announced six new AI products from Innovaccer, including Sara, a conversational AI virtual assistant for executives that allows them to ask questions of data in plain English, and Readmission Predict, which predicts the likelihood of a patient's readmission at the time of discharge. He said the company had been training generative AI on medical content for eight months and that its AI products target clinicians, nurses, executives, and contact center representatives to reduce documentation time by 20 to 30 percent. Hasija also introduced a Health Equity product that identifies patient needs at the household level and connects them to community resources, and a Network Optimizer that uses all-payer claims data to simulate value-based contract negotiations.
