Nawaomba tafadhali tuketi chini. Asanteni sana. Our young entrepreneurs wafanyi biashara wetu our distinguished guests ladies and gentlemen history teaches us a lesson we must never forget never despise small beginnings. Today that lesson is written not in theory but in the lived experience of thousands of young Kenyans. Many of them sitting here and many of them listening across the Republic of Kenya. Some dismissed the Nyota enterprise program. They said 25,000 could not change nothing. But facts have a way of outliving skepticism. Today together with thousands of young entrepreneurs, we gather here in Nairobi and across 17 other regions over republic separated by distance but united by one purpose to witness what becomes possible when opportunity is placed in the hands of determined young people. In a few moments we shall hear their stories and witness first hand the transformation they have achieved in every corner of our republic. When we launched this program, some asked whether 25,000 shillings would really change a life. I believed they were asking the wrong question. I believe that the best question was this. What becomes possible when opportunity meets determination? In the hundreds of thousands of young people listening to me today assembled in different parts of our republic. We have 66,000 young people assembled today in different venues in our republic. We are engaging 122,000 young people today and we are going to fund them in a few hours. We are going to spend close to 3 billion Kenya shillings. Across Kenya thousands of entrepreneurs, young people are answering this question. In Tarakani County for example Eric Ngugi a young entrepreneur living with disability saw opportunity where others so scrub he began manufacturing affordable flush doors. With his not support together with his own other savings, he acquired the equipments he needed. Today he has completed 40 do has another 27 on order and has earned 32,000 in profit. And by the way he now employs five people with capacity to hire five more as demand for his doors growth. In Chuka Town, Frida Karimi was already a skilled tayor. What she liked was not talent but capital. Through Nya, she repaired her thwing machine, expanded her product range, strengthened her brand, and now earns 35,000 shillings in monthly profit. Congratulations Freda. In Kakamega, Sonya Amis looked at her flock of kienyeji chicken and saw a business not a cho. She has doubled her layers from 200 to 400, added 300 chicks and created three jobs all from the first 25,000 nyota business support. Across Kenya the evidence is unmistakable. Inisiolo livestock trader Ibrahim Wako has grown from keeping two gods to five with plans to double that number before the end of this year. In Kitui, UNIC Katunge has transformed a roadside kiosk into a fully stocked shop with stocks now worth 85,000 Kenya shillings. Joseph Kirongo Nyagaka cleared his deaths before growing his mobile phone repair business into a 100,000 Kenya shillings enterprise. In Kisumu, John Omumbo reinvested every shilling of profit to build a coffin making business now worth 100,000 Kenya shillings in Mombasa. Wickliff Mulwa has grown a single fruit stall into a thriving retail and wholesale enterprise earning profits upwards of 7,000 shillings every day. Different counties, different trades, farmers, tailors, life livestock keepers, traders, manufacturers some live with disability. that this program never regarded as a limitation. Yet everyone of them tells the same Kenyan story. Our young people were never waiting for handouts. They were waiting for opportunity. And when opportunity meets determination, ambition becomes enterprise. Enterprise creates jobs. Jobs support families. Strong families build a strong nation. That is the philosophy behind the national youth opportunities towards advancement program nyota. I hope those who judge this program by the size of its first investment now recognize a timeless truth. Every great enterprise was once a small one. Every successful entrepreneur was once a beginner. And as promised today we move confidently into the next phase. Ladies and gentlemen, 88,934 young entrepreneurs who successfully invested their initial business support will shortly receive the second trange of 25,000 Kenya shillings bringing their support under the program to 50,000 Kenya shillings. At the same time, another 33,269,000 young Kenyans are taking the first step on their entrepreneural journey by receiving their first trunch of support. Together more than 122,000 young entrepreneurs across all 47 counties are today receiving business support worth more than 3 billion Kenya shillings. This is one of the largest coordinated investment ever made in Kenya's young entrepreneurs. Because when we invest in enterprise, we invest in the future of our economy. Ladies and gentlemen, having seen what these young entrepreneurs have achieved with modest support, the government of Kenya now has a responsibility to remove the barriers that still stand in their way. Success should never be constrained by unnecessary bureaucracy. I therefore direct the intergovernmental budget and economic council working together with the county governments to develop and implement a twoyear business permit waver for all nyota beneficiaries. Young businesses deserve the opportunity to find their feet. before they bear the full cost of compliance. I further direct ministry of Cooperatives and MSME's Development to establish a national nyota identification mechanism so that every beneficiary can seamlessly access government services, incentives and opportunities designed to support enterprise growth. Number three, I also direct government financial institutions including the youth enterprise development fund, the W of fund, the women enterprise fund, Kenya industrial estates, other relevant agencies to establish a dedicated nyother growth product. The first grant must never become the last opportunity. As business grows, they require larger financing, better equipment, wider markets and stronger partnerships. So we as government must and will provide a clear pathway from startup to sustainable enterprise. nimesema hivi ndio tuelewane. Eh nimesema hivi Kenya mzima mimi najivunia vijana wa nyota hawajatuangusha hawajatuaibisha they have made us proud wale vijana Wote waliopata nafasi ya kwanza ya kupatiwa 25. Mimi nawapa kongole. We have witnesses. Nimesema tafadhali muweke framework ambayo itawapatia hawa wafanyibiashara wadogo hawa miaka miwili bila leseni ndio biashara zao zikit mizizi. Jambo la pili nimesema hivi ya kwamba funds ya serikali, National Youth Development Fund, Women Enterprise Fund, Uwezo Fund, Kenya Industrial Estates nawaamurrisha sasa mtengeneze product ambayo hawa vijana 50,000 muwaonyeshe watapata 50,000 ingine kwenu kwa njia gani wataongeza ikiwe 100 kwa njia gani I am asking the youth enterprise fund the women enterprise fund uwezo fund Kenya industrial estates to develop a product that is going to assist these young entrepreneurs to get the next funding to grow their businesses to the next level and I want to assure you that I will make sure these funds Wel fund youth enterprise fund women enterprise fund Kenya industrial states will develop the products that will allow you to get the next resources as you grow your enterprises. These are not may directives. They are promise that opportunity once planted will be nuttured not abandoned the moment the seed just breaks through the soil. Every generation is judged by how it responds to the defining challenge of its time. Our challenge is clear to unlock the extraordinary potential of Kenya's young people and transform youth unemployment from Kenya's greatest challenge into Kenya's greatest opportunity. That is the Kenya we are building. A Kenya where talent is never limited by circumstances where enterprise is rewarded and where every young person has the opportunity not merely to look for a job but to build a business create an opportunity and help shape our nation's future. Opportunity is is the seed. Enterprise is the harvest. Our responsibility has always been to ensure that every young Kenyan has the chance to plant. I can stand before the nation today that now we have a national infrastructure fund and today we have 350 billion Kenya shillings in our national infrastructure fund and we can now with confidence face the future in matters to do with infrastructure development in Kenya transport and logistics, our energy requirements, our water harvesting and irrigation. As I committed to the nation, we will now move step by step with confidence because we have a plan and we have an agenda and we know where we are taking the country. Tutatembea pamoja. Hatutasahau vijana wa taifa letu la Kenya. Zile rasilimali tuko nazo. We are going to have intergenerational equity. that the generations that are here today will have their stake but also the generations that will come after us. Ndugu zangu mimi ninajua ya kwamba wale walioketi mbele yangu na wale walio katika sehemu mbalimbali kule Bomet, kule Eldoret, kule West Pocot, kule sehemu zingine zote Garisa, wajia wanangojea tupige hatua. Mimi nataka niwahakikishie hatua hiyo tutapiga tukiwa pamoja. And I want to assure you Kenya is changing. Hi nchi yetu tutabadilisha bana. Sikizeni. Mjiamini. Nawatakia heri never despise small beginnings for from them we are building a nation of entrepreneurs. Nairobi hoye

It continues. Yes, so today you have come. I have others. Though it's still there, we will continue to boost. They remain. So let me ask you a little: in your business, how was income before and after you received help from Nyota?
Okay, you know people must eat groceries. It's constant, sometimes it's down, sometimes okay, products increase. Okay, it's constant on a good day.
You can sell sales like 8,000, but not your profit everything. But you can get profit like 2,000 after taking out everything. So 8,000? Yes, and it's daily. Mhm. Eh. So daily you have profit of 2,000, I can get 2,000. Very good. So what will happen now? If you add this other 25, 3,000 goes to Zidi, you have 22,000, what do you plan? How do you... what do you plan to do with it?
We have a small business, we are planning to expand because there is still a space there, we will utilize it to add more things.
So you are ready? Yes. Are you well prepared? Okay, you came with a phone? Yes, I have it. [laughter] So calm down, still a little, let me hear another person there. Thank you, good luck my friend.
From Kajiado, we have a beautiful lady from Kajiado. How are you my dear? I'm okay. That style is very serious. [laughter] How are you? Eh. [applause] [laughter] Ah, you, that thing is not good, you guys, leave it. [laughter] Ehe.
My name is Rosemary Mhoni. I'm very fine, Mr. President. Yes. We were at Kasarani. Yes. And we got the 25,000. Then the 3K went to NSSF. Saving cycle Zid. Very good.
Rosemary Mthoni. How are you, Rosemary? So, did you receive the Nyota money? Yes. Ehe. We were at Kasarani. Yes. And we got the 25,000. Ehe. Then the 3K went to NSSF. Ehe. Saving cycle Zid. Very good.
So my business is quite unique because I live with a parent that is allergic to nyama. So I just got an idea in Kajiado where I could farm something that people that cannot eat meat can still enjoy. So I started a business in mushroom farming, Eddie Boy Oyster mushroom farming. And when I received my first capital, I had already built a structure. I got seeds and I started branding, packaging in plastic containers and I've been sending to Nairobi all the way from Kajiado. Yes.
Okay. So let's applaud this beautiful lady. So today you have come for another 25,000. Yes. Put 3k in savings. I put 3k in savings. 22,000. Now tell us how things will go.
Now the market became quite big. There is a market in a near center, a supermarket, and it's Chinese-owned. So they were asking for orders and I didn't have enough. So they were also asking for different varieties of mushrooms. So my intention now is that I only have oyster mushrooms. I want to start bringing button mushrooms. So this is to expand into other different mushrooms. You have oyster and now you have button. Button. Yes.
Okay. So you intend now to extend it to button. Yes. To other varieties of mushrooms. M. Yes. Let me ask you my dear, what would you want me to do better or more in regard to this program?
I think I was called once after the first disbursement and I was told about exhibitions. My business can really grow from different cultures. Like mushrooms, I knew them in the west. Indians eat them, Chinese eat them. But now when I'm told if I'm to go for exhibitions, I'm going to get up for myself. And I'm sure that money won't be enough for me. So we need more show exhibitions.
You want us to support entrepreneurs like yourself? Yes. To go to exhibition even outside the country so that more people can know about your business. Yes, I agree with you. Thank you. I agree with you. Thank you. And that is the reason why I have said yes, Kenya Industrial Estates can support exhibitions. Yes. You know, and they are listening. And I want to tell the management of Kenya Industrial Estates to listen to what this girl is saying that they must now develop a product that can support exposure of entrepreneurs like yourself. So that you can create a bigger market. Thank you. Is that not so?
Thank you, Mr. President? I'm sorry. Can I say something? When you were buying for president, I wrote something and you've never heard it because I've never had the platform. It's quite short. It's a spoken word if you allow me.
I know you strive. Yeah, it's not like I got an SGR that you drive, true I haven't forgotten that ND I drive, or is it that jet I don't know lucky bribe that you place that bet day and night, you grind in the morning, you cast a net, and with ease you are blind, family needs met, hassle of hash kind, yours is not to let and to feel, yeah trust me and to get that day it rained, you walked in the rain, that day you stayed up to God praying, at home there is pressure, send money, you know those peanuts, share them, the kids can manage, I have no money, no fame, no connection with the big shots, I have loans to my name, no celebration with the fists, I have plants that failed, my intentions are frozen, but I know in this train there is a direction we lead, maybe efforts. [applause] Maybe your efforts have not borne any fruit. Maybe your support is that pair of your shoes. Maybe the only thing keeping you going is faith. But trust me, it's enough and it's never in vain. True. You got problems and you're ever in pain. To life you are a captive. To you, it's like a chain. But after this there is laughter, there is pleasure, there is gain.
Thank you very much. Let's applaud this beautiful lady. Eh, how prepared were you? Eh, I see you had prepared for me. Okay, thank you very much. Who is the next beneficiary we want to listen to?
We have Said Ibrahim. Where is Said? Said, come, Said, what's up?
Greetings Mr. President, maybe from the US side I'm okay. From the May side I'm okay. Ah, it's okay, it's okay. Alright, leader.
Now tell me, you are a Nyota beneficiary, right? Yeah exactly. Tell us, Jan.
So I was working with a certain CBO where they provided me with a room to start a small cyber business. For those who know, cyber business is kind of expensive because of equipment, computers, etc. But they gave me second-hand ones that were already in use. So I was using those before I got the first disbursement. With that, I improved because I was printing photos that looked like the person, but you see your photo. So I got a printer and sourced for it, though it's not the best, but it's at least. So that 25, actually 22,000 because 3,000 went to savings, I used that for the printer. Then I realized that underprinting marketing still has potential and pays well. So I decided to venture into marketing, printing, designing flyers under the cyber business. And it paid off because I have two friends of mine working there, keeping them busy. And my dream is to get out of there.
So now you have two people working with you, yeah? Before you were alone, one man. Now today is the day also.
Absolutely, I feel happy. You see me trembling? Happiness and what? Happiness?
Okay. So Said, yes. So today we will add 25k for you. Yep. 3k goes to savings. Mhm. And let me tell you about savings. Savings is very important because even the other day you heard we set up a sovereign wealth fund so that the money available today in Kenya we don't finish it because we have generations coming. And you are here today, you are chasing your hustle, but you must remember there is a tomorrow, and that tomorrow savings will help you. Is that not so? So I want to ask you because today we will add another 25k, savings together with what will go into the business wallet. What is the horizon? What do you think you are going to do with that extra 22,000? What is the plan?
You know, some people don't have a plan, eh? But what's the plan? So as I said, I ventured into the marketing business. So I've decided I'm going to buy a recording mobile phone that I will use for marketing. So I have a business to market out there on social media. If I have that good quality phone, when I go to the business, do the recording, the editing things, and then I open for them a social media, I post for them their business for online visibility. So that money I'm going to venture into an equipment which I'm going to use for marketing. Have you already identified the equipment? Yeah.
Already you know where you will buy it? Yeah. It's just that I'm waiting for the money to come in, [laughter] then you'll be there at zero hour. This Said has a plan, right? You heard he has a plan? And you know some people don't have a plan, you know them. Eh, but Said, thank you for having a plan. And all these gentlemen you see here, everyone has a plan. Or is there anyone here without a plan? Everyone has a plan. Everyone has drawn. You know, when you leave here, you know where you're going? Right? Thank you very much. I wish you well and I want to promise you we are together. Thank you. Thank you my friend. Thank you very much. Do we have another beautiful lady here?
Yes, we have Jennifer. Your Excellency, and Jennifer is a new beneficiary. She is expecting to receive today. Welcome, Jennifer.
Jennifer, how are you? My dear, how are you? Are you okay? I'm okay. Very good, very good, very good. Now tell me, have you been trained? Did you attend the training?
We attended. Okay. Tell me what was your experience? Okay, we attended the training. The training was very okay, Mr. President. We were taught well how to do records, how to plan your business. Do not go into business without plans. You need to have your plans and your records. So when you go into business, you know your profit, you know your loss, you know how the business runs. M. Yeah. Very good. So how many days were you taught? We studied for four days. Four days. Yes. Okay. So now you have been taught how to run the business. Yes. To know the matters of accounting, records, so things don't get mixed up. Exactly. Right? Eh. We should not mix business money. So now, how have you prepared yourself? Do you have an idea of how, when you get the money today, you know what you will do? Can you tell me a little?
I know, I know business is exactly, but you'll just tell us how it will go.
Okay, thank you. Okay Mr. President, my business plan was to open a cosmetics or salonist. Yes. Beauty. So that was my plan from the word go. Yeah. So I have to find where to buy the products. Do you know where they are? The wholesalers, you already know. I know. Yeah. So I will go to the wholesalers and take what is needed most, because I won't have enough money to take many things. I take the ones that sell faster, the ones that are most needed in the market. Yeah. So when I take those, at least the business runs. Then from there, as I get more, I will know how to increase my business and everything. Let me ask you, yes Mr. President, do you have a place? Have you thought of where to do that business? Already identified? I know mostly populated areas, I know I will get customers, girls, women, I know I will be doing and I already know the shop to put it. Yes. Does she have a plan? What do you think? This beautiful lady has a plan. Let's applaud her. She has a very good plan. So shortly, you came with a phone? Yeah, I have it. It's ready. Are you sure it's charged? You know, things can go off here. I had already prepared. It was ready, I came with it. Eh, okay, thank you very much, let's applaud so much. Thank you, welcome. Thank you, welcome, thank you. My good sister here is among 33,000 young people like this girl who today will receive their first 25, and we are very happy. Welcome. We are going to walk with you.
I have our governor, I am here with the honorable Johnson Sakaja, the governor. Yes. How are you, governor? Stand there. Now these young people, you have heard what I said, governor. I said now in the Ibec, where you are a senior member because Nairobi is a big county. I asked you, please, you governors, sit down there with my deputy, try to figure out two things. First, how to identify these small business people, and second, please, if you can give them a place to do their business without paying license fees for two years. [cheers] [applause] So that their business stays strong. Or what? Is that not so? So governor, on behalf of your fellow governors, I ask you, in respect of all these young people, please.
Your Excellency, we are cooperating with the PS. On the 30th, I was given a list of the first beneficiaries so that when they come to cut the license, we will give them a license, but it will be zero-rated so that they are not disturbed there by Kanjo or disturbed by inspection people. Because you must have that license. And these days, Nairobi, Excellency, license is one. In the past, you would come to City Hall, be told to go to Tom Mboya for fire license, go to another place for advertising. These days, it is one license: star647hash nairobies.go.ke, one certificate. So not only will we do the license, I will talk to my fellow governors because we need to support the work they are doing. Your Excellency, we are building markets, and you have helped us. We are building 20 markets, we will give these people space in those markets that we are building so they can enter. Because you know, we thank you, you have believed in these young people. In the past, people thought young people cannot do strong business. This morning I was listening to Radio Jambo, people were calling saying this money should be given to people aged 45 and above. We said no, young people can. Thank you for believing in these young people. Let's applaud our president. The thing you will add, Excellency, for these young people, is a story I heard the other day. A media person interviewed two people. The first one he found at Kamiti prison. He is there for robbery with violence, rape, and theft. He was sentenced to life. He asked him why your life changed and became like this. He said, if you had the kind of upbringing I had, the way would only be left. He got the other one, a doctor at Mbagathi, a qualified doctor doing orthopedic work, very successful, with his family. He asked him how he succeeded in life. He said, if you were brought up with the kind of father I had, the only way was to succeed. Those two were brothers. Both were brought up by the same person. One decided to change his life, the other said because of my background I will only go south. I want to tell the young people: it is your attitude that will determine your altitude. It is not what happens to you. It is how you react to the situations in life. So thank you for telling us, Your Excellency. Not to despise humble beginnings. Even if life has been hard, your parents maybe didn't succeed, you came from a difficult place. Our president started by selling chickens, now see where he is. So let us change our attitude. There's a lot of negativity sometimes, you see pressure on social media, people showing what they have. You get discouraged. Do not be discouraged. Believe in yourself because the world belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Your Excellency, thank you so much for believing in these young people, and we will continue to support. Let's applaud our governor. Governor.
Let me thank you, you have helped me improve what I had said. Yeah. I want to change a little what I had said. I had said these young people should do business without licenses. No. They should do business with a license that they have paid zero, so they get a license but not be charged. Yes, so when Kanjo goes there, they find a license, is that not so? Yes. I ask all governors, please, my brothers the governors, let's help these young people. If we lift these young people, these young people are hardworking, they are diligent, they are dedicated, and we will move forward with them. Should we continue? Should we continue? You say continue? Should we continue? Continue. I want to listen to another gentleman from where?
Ah, it's Mr. Suleiman who got the first tranche and boosted his business, boosted his business, he is called Suleiman Ocheng. Suleimani. Suleimano Chieng.
Mambo. Very cool, leader. I see you are very serious. You are very serious, I am happy. [laughter] Leader. Come here. Eh. Speak, Mr. Ocheng.
I am safe, I thank God for the opportunity [whistles] that we have been given as young people. I hope today we are hearing [whistles] cool. [applause] We hear. Let me ask you. Ask, Your Excellency. Did you receive the first tranche of 25k? I received it. Mhm. What did you do with it?
Okay. I was a small farmer trying to lift myself up. Before Nyota came, I had a business I was doing. I was building these houses, I was mixing this liquid also, putting it in bottles. I sell to people, I have it, and I can add things like plastics to at least bring it to wholesale, bring juice. That was my dream ahead. Now I have received my Nyota, William Ruto has given you your Nyota, what is your dream for the future? I would like to see my business of juice expand, that commodity become the supplier for that area. Ah, you become the main supplier of juice to others and then you move forward. Congratulations. Thank you. All the best. We have one more person here lastly.
Yes. Thank you. Tell us your name.
My name is Diana Nenya. From where? Makueni County. Where? In Makueni. Mkaa Ward. Mkaa, you received 25,000 last time. Yes. And now, that money you received last time, what did you do with it? Okay, I started a business selling supplements. Ehe. So the first 22,000 I got, I set up a structure for that shop. Ehe. Eh. Then I went and talked well with the supplier. You talked well? Eh. I defended myself well because I worked for him with integrity and he saw my integrity, so he trusted me with his stock even without me paying anything. He gave you stock. Yes. Very good. Eh. And now this money you are getting today is to pay for stock or to add stock? Okay, we had agreed I would send him something. Eh. Also, I would really like to get support because I have marketed my supplements in Makueni a lot, especially at home. Like yesterday, when I left, I was selling, I came with a product, people have ordered. At least I can open a branch in Makueni. Very good. What kind of supplement? Dina Farm Pro Young Supplement. What does it help? We have nutritional supplementation. Ehe. Detox and cleansing. Yes. Diet and weight management. Health plants. We have mental, physical, and sexual. Did you bring some today? Yes. There are some big people here who want weight management. There are some elders here, I see nutrition is a bit of a problem. So prepare for them. Okay. Okay. If you finish, look at the big people. Big people here, help this girl. Buy hers. Eh, even CNN said I want that supplement of yours. Thank you so much. Okay. Thank you.
Okay, before I go, I want to call Kindu. Kindu. He started broccoli farming with the first tranche. Denis, how are you? Are you okay? I'm okay. Where are you from? Lari constituency. Lari, stand here close. Komburu Kahangara. Lari constituency. Ehe, before you got that money, did you go for training? Yeah, I went for training. Did that training help you? Raise your voice a little. You raise yours. Okay. I went for training, we were taught about business and it was very helpful to me. It was very helpful. Yeah, it was very helpful. Raise your voice a little. Raise your voice. Okay. We went for training for four days and we were taught about business, and we were taught many things like as an entrepreneur how you can generate a new idea or grow the work you were doing. Correct. Yeah. Thank you, Dennis. Now, did you receive 25k? Yeah, I received it. 3k went to Zidi for savings, you got 22k, how did it go? Yeah, I received 25k. 22k went to the business wallet, 3k went to NSSF gradually. Mhm. Yeah. So what did you do with the 22k? My 22k, I've told you I'm from Kiambu County, Ferrari. Mh. Small village called Kamai. Mh. A place that is very suitable for farming. Farming. You are my role model. I heard that you are also a farmer. Yes. But I took a different path. Yes. A very different one from you. You are for chickens. I am for broccoli. Broccoli? Yeah. Eh, that is very serious, broccoli. How do you know broccoli? Not chicken people, but okay. Let's continue. I'm a broccoli farmer. So I went and rented a small piece of land, paid 8k for one year. Yes. I bought seeds called Safari Seats. I'm not doing advertisement, it's Safari Seat. They are very good for broccoli farming. I took 2,400. Mhm. I bought manyua, a small saucepan because it's just starting. Mh. 8,500, I took a person to prepare the farm there, and some women to plant for me, a small tractor. Mh. And then God gave us a little rain. Broccoli grew. I waited for two and a half months and they were ready. The market was there for me, they are always in high demand. So I waited and I harvested. Yes. And guess what, Mr. President? Yes. Tell me. The 22k didn't even end there. But the profit I got was even triple. Yeah, triple. Yeah. Let's give Dennis a round of applause. I have a record. Yes. I had evidence. My phone is there. Help him with his phone. Who has a phone? With Daniel. Daniel, where? Dan, you can assist me with my phone, Daniel. Okay, Daniel is there. Let the boss's phone here. [laughter] He will make us laugh. He will make us laugh. Okay, this man studied for those four days, he was taught records, right? I was taught to open records. Yes. So you have your records there? Record it. I have all my records here. Very good. I kept my record. I think I had prepared for a day like today to be here. Ehe. And I added evidence. Yes. Okay. So I can read it there, I wrote the date, kgs, and price. Yes. And you can read it for them. Okay. Yeah. Give me a job, I'll do it. Let it not be me reading to myself. 2nd of the 4th month, 4 kilos, [mumbling] price 140 Kenya shillings. Per kilo. Per kilo. Not two, per kilo. Per kilo is 140. 140 per kg. Very good. 26th of the 4th month, about two, three weeks later, 30 kilos. Yeah. Per price per kilo 140 Kenya shillings. Yeah. Ehe, 6th of the 5th month, per price 140. Yeah. 10th of the 5th month, yeah. At 100 shillings, what? It dropped a little. The price goes down a bit because of time and season. Time and season. 13th of the 5th month, 78 kilos, 70 shillings per kilo. Yeah. 17th of the 5th month, 50 kilos. Yeah. 50 shillings per kilo. 50 shillings per kilo. 28th of the 5th month, 30 kilos, 50 shillings per kilo. Yeah. And the record doesn't end there. Ehe. I have a big record. This was. So all this, how much money comes? The whole thing, the whole farm and that broccoli gave me around 60k. 60k. And you invested 22, and even 22k didn't finish. Mhm. I got 60k. Yes. So God bless you, because the work I was doing before, if you give me that money, it wouldn't give me all that money. You better be frank as youths. If someone has done something good, tell them they have done something good. This guy has helped us. Not that he has helped us, let's be frank. Right? If someone works, they have worked. You have done a very great job, Mr. President, a very good one. A guy like me maybe would be out there drunk either because I have no job, but because you gave me money, I went and generated an idea. Just be blessed. Be blessed. Thank you. Because we need a leader like you for a better tomorrow. For a better tomorrow, we need a leader like you, and that's why I'm here full of courage. Thank you. Telling you that we sing two terms, it's true, two terms. You deserve it. Except that you put that a president cannot pass? You deserve three. Let's applaud Dennis. Am I talking the truth? [laughter] Am I talking the truth, leaders? He deserves three, right? Because he has a high IQ. These days we don't look at whether you are fat or thin. We are looking at the IQ, what you can do, what you are doing, and your next move. We saw your capabilities. You were an MP, you were a minister, and you have reached here, and you are still saying things and we are seeing them happen, and we expect more from you. Thank you. We expect more from you. Thank you, Dennis. You are my role model, and one day I will not disappoint you. One day, yes, I stand here. [laughter] Thank you very much, let's applaud Dennis. I have a request, like already who requested something from you. Maybe a simple request. I need a selfie from you. Okay. Thank you. Okay. I love you, Mr. President. Thank you, Dennis. God bless you. I love you too, my friend. Okay, and good luck. I greet Chalini. [laughter] Okay. Eh, young people really have things. [cheers] Eh, let's applaud that Dennis. [applause] You know, it is very rare. I know it's not easy to find someone who appreciates what has been done for them. So let's applaud Dennis. Thank you very much, Dennis. And I'm sure many young people like yourself appreciate what's going on and they look at the future without confidence that we can do better. So, the last one, I think we have Linet Achie, who opened a business of charcoal in Kibra and received the first tranche. Linet, welcome, Linet. What's up?
Cool. Very good. How is Kibra? Kibra is okay, maybe you? I'm fine. Ehe. So I see things are okay. Eh, things are okay. Even on my side, I see things are okay. [laughter] Now let me ask you first. Eh. Eh. Have you been to the clinic? Eh. Ehe. Very good. When you went to the clinic, you know now we have said, eh, the old one was called Linda Mama, now it's Linda Jamii. Now it's not just that the government will cover the cost of you going to get a child, but we start from here behind to the end until the child is born. So congratulations. Thank you. Okay. So tell me, earlier you went to those teachings on how business support works, recording and what? Did you participate? Yes. How many months did you go? The first time I went to the first training, then I was sent that money, of which it was 22,000, and 3,000 was deducted and sent to Zidi, which is savings, I continue to put at least to invest. Then I opened a business with that 22. I brought stocks of charcoal. The day I was paid was January 19, I brought stock of about four gunny bags, and those who were buying from me, I was giving them at 3,100, of which when they go to sell, they arrange, they give 3,800, their profit can be 700, and if it's very hot, they can have 450 if it's not hot. Eh. That business has not gone well. If it goes well, you can even make 800 and above. Eh. Ehe. So you buy wholesale now, and then you come and sell to those who sell charcoal in small amounts. Eh. I sell to them, even my father-in-law. Even father-in-law? Eh. You sell to him? Eh. [laughter] Matters of business, there is no family, it will fall. [laughter] So everyone must pay. Eh. Very good. So you have become a wholesaler because you buy by the gunny bag. Eh. These others you sell to them, they sell in small amounts. Eh. Is that right? Eh. So your business is moving? Eh, it's going. Mhm. Eh. Now today you have come? Eh, today I have come for the other one. Ehe. At least to boost, I have a small other business, I was rotating porridge in Kibra, everyone knows me. Eh, now at least if I get another one, I can open a hotel and put porridge there. You know, I sell the traditional porridge, I can also put one called Uji Power. Eh, those machines, I put them there. Eh. So Uji Power. Mh. Oh, very good. But now I sell the other one. Which one? The traditional one, the one from the group. Eh. Traditional. So you want to upgrade it to Uji Power. Eh. And still bring the charcoal. You don't want to leave it? I can't leave it. That's the business. I must become a millionaire. [laughter] I used to hear that Njenga Karume also used to sell charcoal. In the end, he became a millionaire. Mh. He almost became a billionaire. Are you on that path? Mh. Very good. Let's applaud my sister here. So if you get the business, you add the charcoal business, and you add Uji Power. Eh, if I see it goes well, I add another business. Eh, you can't depend on one or two businesses. Mhm. You diversify. Eh. So that if one side slacks, the other holds. It holds. Eh. Okay. Do you have children? Eh. I have one child. Seven years old, Mel. Is he in school? He is in school. Eh. Okay. And the other one is coming. Eh. Yes, this one here is in the belly, can't you see? [laughter] I have seen him. Okay, thank you very much. Thank you very much, my dear. I wish you well. You too, and good luck. Thank you very much. Eh, let's applaud that beautiful lady. Does she have a plan or not? She has a plan, right? She has a plan for charcoal. She has a plan for Uji Power. And she knows that there are no family matters in business, everyone pays, right? Okay, I have one gentleman from Kajiado also here, and he has his hustle very serious. Benson Maeli, he is an electrical sales engineer, and also received the first tranche, so today he has come for the second one. Benson, greetings.
Very fine, Mr. President, cool, cool. Are you okay? I'm okay, father. That outfit of yours is very serious. Let's take a selfie. Okay, selfie later. Now tell me. Did you participate in the first tranche? Did you first go and get taught, or did you take a shortcut? I was taught. Eh, to do electrical work, I have done. I was first taught at school, then I graduated, then I came and I was staying. A customer was giving me work, it goes to a person at a shop that sells electrical items. I went there one day, a customer gave me 32,000. When he gave it to me, I went to buy materials to go do the work. Ah, the shop owner didn't even give me a handshake, even the handshake, he didn't return. So I thought, I said, it's better if this money had come back to me, it would be a very good opportunity. So from there, I started my own shop, which is called...
Ben Power Electricals. Um nilipofungua so saa hizi mimi ninauza na ninafanya services.
