Hello your excellency. The choir that has just presented is from ABC Changunga in Kitwi. The next ABC Makadara, karibuni.
Three duties are given, Lord, we bring. In prayer, when you pray, expect two answers or one. In prayer, given by God. In prayer, lean. It comes. In prayer, this is it. Yes. No. Wait. These are God's answers. Yes. No. Wait. Yes. No. Wait. These are God's answers. Eh. Yes. No. Wait. God's answers, believe truly. God's answers do not fail. If God says yes, no one says no. If God says no, no one says yes, yes. God's answers, believe truly. God's answers do not fail. If God says yes, no one says no. If God says no, no one says yes, yes. God's answers are only three. Yes, no, wait. My brother, do not lose heart. You pray without getting tired. God's answers are only three. My brother, do not lose heart. Do not get tired of praying. My brother, you pray, pray, pray. We pray to you. We pray to you. Ah. We pray to you. By faith. Brother, pray, pray. We pray to you. Ah. We pray to you. Brother, pray. By faith. Brother, pray, pray. When you are denied, thank God. When you are not answered, continue praying. When you are denied, thank God. God, when you are not, continue praying. Our God, He does not delay to answer. Our God is orderly. Our God does not delay to answer. Our God is orderly. Pray, pray. When you are in trial, pray, pray, pray. When you are in need, pray, pray, pray. When you are near, pray. Amen.
Thank you ABC Makadara. The next item we are going to have intercessory prayers led by Canon Elizabeth Emmanuel.
Let us sing and pray. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before you, praising and lifting up your name because you are a great God. You are a faithful God. You have given us the grace today to be here. Receive all the praise. In your high place, we humble ourselves before you again, Holy One, asking for forgiveness of sins. Lord, cleanse us and purify us. Count us righteous because you are our God. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to gather here for the women's conference of this year. We say thank you because you have enabled us to see this day, placing ourselves in your holy hands for this day. Lord, walk with us in every step. We pray for our meeting. Holy One, may you reign and do good. Whatever we will do here, Lord, take the glory. We pray for our ABC church. Holy One, may you last forever and bless it, lifting us to a higher level. Holy One, for seeking your face and for worshipping you, Lord, we pray for our country Kenya. Holy One, may you be with us. May peace, God, last forever and be found. May your peace continue with us through the leadership of our President. Holy One, we pray that you may reveal yourself to this nation and all, God, last forever. If we see you doing this, we can say thank you. Be with us as we have started this meeting. As we continue, Holy One, accompany us to the end, and we will be able to thank and honor your name. Whatever we need, Holy One, that we have not said to you through prayer, may your Holy Spirit continue to intercede for us. And in the name of Jesus Christ we have prayed and concluded. Amen.
We ask you to stand, we will be given a song, then we will recite the Apostles' Creed in Swahili. That is the song of our President, and it is our song too. Lord, you are my portion.
Hymn number 79, 59 in Swahili. My portion, friend, mine, you, in my journey, and you, together, and you, together, and you, in my journey, walk with you. Inspired, and may I get, doubts, okay, and you, together, and you, together, and you, but doubts, okay, and you. Lead me, on the journey, ahead take me, at the gate of heaven, let me enter, with you, together, together, and you, together, and you, at the gate of heaven, let me enter, with you. Amen.
The Apostles' Creed. I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
For Jesus, clap, clap, clap. Go, these things, and Jesus, we are. These things, go, these things, and Jesus, we are. These things, and Jesus. These things, these things, and Jesus, you, forever, forever, these things, and Jesus. These things, Satan, these things, and Jesus, goodness, and ululations for Jesus, again Jesus, again, again, again, again. Christ's portion, Jesus, all Christ's portion, Jesus, today. Christ's portion, Jesus, today, all. Christ's portion, Jesus, today, all. Christ's portion, Jesus, today, all. Jesus, today, all. Jesus, today, all. Jesus, today, all. Jesus, today, all. Jesus, today, all. Today, all. Jesus, today, all, today, all. Jesus, today, all. All. Jesus, today, all. One, two, three, four. Jesus. I have no trust except in the blood of Jesus. I have no goodness enough to wash my sins. I have no trust except in the blood of Jesus. I have no goodness enough to wash my sins. In Jesus I stand. He is the rock, I am safe. He is the rock, I am safe. He is the rock, I am safe. Though my journey be long, He gives me salvation. Though waves beat against me, His strength is sufficient. In Jesus I stand. He is the rock, I am safe. He is the rock, I am safe. He is the rock, I am safe. His strength and sacrifice, I trust always. All beneath Him, the Savior will suffice. In Jesus I stand. The rock, I am safe. The rock, I am safe. By faith, safe. Amen.
Father God, we thank you that the time has come for us to hear your word. We ask you to speak to us according to your will and purpose. Through Jesus Christ our Redeemer we pray. Amen. Praise the Lord.
Ah, our theme for this year, women of faith, our lesson comes from the book of First Kings, chapter 3, verse 21. And indeed we know that our theme encourages women to look further and look ahead. And therefore this year's women of faith congress theme is a call to women to move from darkness, confusion and fear and emotional pain into the light of spiritual discernment, clarity and restoration. And our theme challenges women to remain spiritually awake to guard their homes, their families, their destinies and to look beyond immediate circumstances and recognize what God is revealing. From the story in the Bible, 1 Kings chapter 3 starting from verse 1 down and especially main focus will be on verse 20 and 21. Here we see a story of two women who had lived together in the same house and they had children. They had children born three days apart. One, and after two days another one, and they gave birth to two babies. And these two babies, apparently according to the Bible, one of them died at night and then there seems to be a very cunning woman among the two who took the dead child and placed the dead child on the side of this other woman and took the living child. And because we know what the Bible says, these two women, one of them when she woke up in the morning she realized that the baby that she had was not hers and the baby was dead. So they chose to go to King Solomon for advice and also for judgment. And the rest we know, this was one of the most difficult cases but Solomon in his wisdom judged it fairly and the woman got a child. So the central lesson is drawn from this book where a mother discovers in the morning that the dead child placed in her arms was not hers. Although the two babies initially appeared similar, careful examination in the morning light revealed the truth. The message is therefore about transitioning from panic of darkness to the discernment of light. And according to this scripture there are two main points that we want to highlight. One, there is a midnight exchange that took place. This is a picture of a spiritual negligence because this mother slept and when she was sleeping the child was swapped. She was given the dead one. But when she woke up in the morning she realized that this is not my baby. So the scripture today challenges us about deception and the loss or substitution of what God has entrusted to his people. While the dead baby here represents blessings, dreams, shattered purposes, relationships, destinies that may have been stolen at night or whatever time of the day and exchanged and replaced with a counterfeit. For women today and all of us who are gathered here, we are challenged not to become spiritually stagnant and complacent but to remain watchful and protect what has been given to us. Every one of us has a destiny and we have the blessings of God in our destiny. And therefore if you sleep the devil may exchange what the Lord has given you with something else. Yeah. And we know there are people who have blessings from God but the devil has exchanged them and given them a life that is dead. And that life that is dead, if they do not go to the next level in verse 21, then they will be left crying, they will be left worrying, they will be left mourning. But the woman complained. In verse 21, the Bible says when the woman woke up in the morning she examined closely and discovered that the dead child was not hers. And this is what I'm referring to as spiritual discernment. What is discernment? Discernment is a God-given ability to distinguish the truth and deception, good from evil, wisdom from folly, and life from death. It goes beyond human reasoning and requires spiritual sensitivity to recognize what is beneath the surface. And this can only be possible in the morning light when God comes and shows up, when God's word and prayer and spiritual alertness is our portion. And therefore it was in the morning, it was in the morning when she looked and looked more. Although the child was dead, this mother, there is something important that this year we are challenged to do, that you look and look again. Hallelujah. You look and look again.
Look and look again. Look and look again before you accept the destiny that people give you. The destiny that people speak over you. The things that people have placed you in. So you have been placed by people in a place that may not be your place. You have been exchanged. Your life has been exchanged with the dead life. And you find yourself, mother, the family is troubling you. You find yourself, mother, the children are troubling you. You find yourself, your life is troubling you. Even for politicians, even for our President. Maybe there is a destiny that people want to give you. But that is not your destiny. Look at the call of our meeting today, do not accept. The place people have put you, do not accept the place the devil has put you. Do not accept the place the devil has put you. It is good to remember God's view of your life. And therefore we are encouraged to examine closely our current situation. Where are you now, mother? The conditions that make a wise decision rather than accept appearances at face value. People have entered into activities that are not theirs, lives that are not theirs. Because people have spoken, because people have said, because people have placed you. Please, seek the will of God. Where does God say I belong? God says where do I belong? Okay. If it is poverty, does God say you will be poor forever? He is not a God who has everything. And the will of God in our lives is that we move from one level to another. To ask God for discernment is very important. So let us all ask God to give us a heart of reflection, of examination, of seeing and knowing where we have been placed by life and where we want to go. Are we together, women? There is a place life can put you and you stand and say, this is not meant for me. This is not where I belong. I belong to a better place. Me, these are not the lives that God has told me, and God does not want me to be like this. God wants me to be like what? So refuse counterfeits, negative labels, because your portion. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Because Jeremiah 29:11 says, "I know the plans that I have for you. I know the thoughts I have for you." And those thoughts God has for us are good. Can we say they are good? They are good. And not bad. They are thoughts of giving us hope, a future. Okay. Refuse to be oppressed. Refuse to be harassed. Refuse to be trampled down. Refuse even sometimes to be manipulated and placed where you do not deserve. Okay. And say, here I am not where God placed me. God says I know the plans that I have for you. They are good plans and not bad plans to give you a hope and a future and a determined end. Praise the Lord. It is God's will that we move forward, not backward. And so look at what has been exchanged. Maybe you have been exchanged, you are walking with a dead child but it is not yours. You are walking with a dead life but whose is it? Today is a day of change. Say today is a day of change. We have women of faith. We have a few examples from the Bible. And before I give examples from the Bible, I want to ask our archbishop to forgive me if I give this example. We are women. We are women, right? There was one mother who refused the place where life had put her. And that mother, although her husband died during the old wars, the First World War, he left children and a wife struggling. And when they stayed, they began to be chased by their own people. And that mother entered into prayer, prayed to God, stood firm, went and sought what to do, entered into a farm, cultivated here and there. The mother was moving maize cobs. You know maize cobs and cobs. She comes from Viulia, Masii, on foot. She walks until she goes to Kikuyu and sells ropes in exchange for food. And that mother did not give up. She struggled and did not leave God. She struggled with life and raised her children. And in all that trouble, she said that the life God has given me and my children is better. Not these that we have been placed in by our people who chased us. And you know today that mother is late, she is called the late Beatrice Nzisanda Mbuki, the mother to our archbishop today. Hallelujah. Now if the archbishop here, if the mother had said, I am a widow, I have nothing, I am dead, then would we have the archbishop today? Praise the Lord.
