It's interesting. And also my tripod mount is a little crooked. You know. Here we go. Odd, but yeah. All right, here we are. Good morning. Um, it is Wednesday the 10th of uh—oh, no, the 11th. Pardon me. Of June. Good morning, Julie. How are you, darling? Always nice to see you. Friendly name in the list. Um, I'm trying to get this right. I need a leveler. Um, good. Good, good, good. Top of the morning to you.
Speaking of accents from um over there, I finally watched—I want—I finally got through all of season 1 of Department Q. Have you guys watched this? Department Q with Matthew Goode. Uh, he's an actor I've always enjoyed. Uh, I think he's talented. He's super handsome. I think the first time I saw Matthew Goode, I think it was in um Match Point, the Woody Allen film with Jonathan Rhys and Scarlett Johansson and Emily Mortimer. Uh, it was a thriller. It was not a comedy. And Matthew Goode was in that. He played the the brother of Joe Faria. What's up? Um, but anyway, I think that's the first time I remember seeing Matthew Goode. And then he was in The Watchmen. He was in um—he played the deceased the boyfriend, the partner in A Single Man who gets killed, Colin Firth's partner, boyfriend, mate, guy. Um, yeah. He's terrific. He's so pretty.
But not just pretty, he brings the goods and I think Department Q shows a side of him that we don't get to see. Um, I think it's a great show. I hope there's a season 2. I'm not going to spoil anything here, but the finale—this the the last episode is, you know, completely satisfying, I thought. And but it's not—we're not done. There's an unresolved thing there. Jenny Blitz, hello to you in LA. Give us a report. What's happening out there? Um, Lenore is doing great today. We're going to go out in a minute. Thanks for asking. Um, give us a report from LA. Um, I know from personal experience that the media loved to exaggerate the hellscape that was New York 5 years ago when it wasn't. Um, let's see. Eva Green and Matthew Goode were in a movie together that rocked. I can't remember what movie you're talking about. Oh, and Matthew Goode was also in a thriller. A dark one. Was it with Nicole Kidman? I don't remember.
Uh, it's—you're fine where you are. Love your gu—I love your guv, too. I think Gavin's looking real good for 28. I think Gavin's going to come out of this looking like a champ. I mean, he already is and he's got the hair and the looks and the charm and also the intelligence, the ver—the vim and vigor. Um, you know, I think Gavin's got—I Gavin's always had the goods as far as I'm concerned. Is he perfect now? Nobody is. I think it's interesting and you guys tell me if I'm crazy cuz that's a distinct possibility, but something has happened. I'm not sure what the culprit is. But people—we've become as as as as an electorate, as consumers, as Americans, we have become spoiled brats in the sense that—and I think we're brats about the wrong things. Um, healthcare, we should be bigger brats. Uh, women's rights, just general rights, we need to be real brats. But when it comes to a politician being perfect, it's never going to happen. And we've gotten into this weird trend of not voting or voting for the other guy because the one person doesn't tick all of your boxes and stuff like—who? No. All right? You don't go shopping at Bergdorf Goodman with an H&M card. You're not going to get all the things that you think you're entitled to. It doesn't work that way. It never has. And as Americans, we've become real spoiled brats. Um, one issue voters wreck the system. I don't know if I'd go that far, but I would certainly say that one issue voters are a problem. Um, but we have as—it's—we're a real bratty country. Um, and that sucks. I don't—you know, people think they're entitled to like, you know, the gold room when they've brought nothing to the table. Like, no. Um, let's see. Who else is in here? I want to like what's going on on Blue Sky Newsstand. Anyway. So, I mean, agree or disagree. I think we've become a very sort of like—in terms of how we vote, what we expect. Like you go into McDonald's and you act like you're at the Four Seasons kind of mentality. Like, no. Like, everyone chill the out. Yeah. On that score. But, where we should be brats, healthcare, protecting people who are have less rights or are people who need help, people who need protection. We need to be brats on that for sure. Um, but the whole like, well, he didn't tick all my boxes, so I'm not going to—I'm not going to vote for her. She's—first of all, we shouldn't be in this bag. Kamala Harris should really be president and this is all stupid. Um, and I know it like there's some Californians here on the wire and I know that Californians have not always been in love with Gavin Newsom. I have some friends—I have many friends there and some family members and out in the California Republic who have not always been his biggest fans. I get it. I think he's a great politician, actually. Uh, he's—and also, I've seen him up close. I saw him uh about this is about 4 years ago, 3 years ago. Uh, in LA, Kara Swisher's last Code Conference and he was there and I was front row and Kara Swisher interviewed him. And uh, so, I saw him up close and watched this exchange. This is a guy who—I can smell a bad performance. I mean, this is a guy who gives a Gavin Newsom cares. I get that distinct impression. Um, you know, but he's not perfect. None of them are. And I'm fine with that. I accept—I accept the fact that people are humans, not felons. Let's see. Let me read this. 'Excruciatingly sad what's happening in LA. No one deserves it. I'm 10 miles from where it is. Seeing it all feels very upsetting.' Yeah, thanks for sharing that. Let's see. 'He sounded very presidential.' Gavin is very presidential. Yes, we should have had Kamala for sure. Um, and also, he's got the hair, man. He's got that presidential hair. He's got such—he's got really good skin. Uh, only problem is that I think with Gavin is that he puts too much product in his hair. I think it's fine. I mean, we're splitting hairs, so to speak. I think Gavin's uh, you know, he he's got the goods. Um, let's see. Uh, we had a little debate last night for our city comptroller. There's this guy here in New York named Mark Levine. I'm such a fan. Who am I voting for for mayor? Um, probably Cuomo. He's going to win. Like, let's be real. Um, and you know, I'm—what do I—Melissa McQueen, thank you very much for your contribution. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Um, Mark Levine for our city comptroller, for sure. He's a good guy. He is currently um our Manhattan Borough President. Uh, see, Anne says, 'Please say happy birthday to my sister Rosemary.' Rosemary, happy birthday. Nice one. Um, so, I'll probably vote for Cuomo. Again, is Cuomo my favorite? No. Does he tick all my boxes? No. Do I think he's going to be an okay mayor? Yeah. Fine. You know, do I see any point looking at the landscape? Do I see any point? I mean, it's—you know, I don't even know the name of this kid of whoever's going up against him. To win the primary. Our primary starts, what is today, the 11th? Our primary starts on Saturday. Primary early voting starts on Saturday. But Cuomo's going to get the nomination. He'll be the Democratic candidate and he'll be the mayor. And you know, it'll be fine. You know, again, not my favorite person. I'm not marrying him. People vote like they're marrying somebody. Like, no. This is just the guy who's got to keep some running. And you know, is he a bully? Yeah. Does New York City mayor need to be one? Yeah. George was hacked? What are you talking about? Explain. Um, let's see. I like the new guy. I like having news and having a—I was hacked last night. I turned him in. Oh, okay. Wow. Used AI for my voice. Jenny Blitz, I wish you would send that to me. I would like be very curious to see that. What does AI me look like and sound like? I'm super curious. Um, guy claiming to be me. No, there's only me. On what network, Jenny? Is this Instagram? Where? Where is this impostor? In my experience, impostors tend to just kind of like fall away. People understand they're being, you know, punked and don't follow the person or don't respond. On Insta. Oh, interesting. Okay. Anyway, um, yeah, it's a thing. And really, Instagram meta isn't—it's—it's too complicated. It's too complex. you, Zuckerberg. Um, cloudy. What is our weather today? Watch this. Um, I guess that means I'm going to start. Yes, that's me, baby. Um, our weather today—um, sunny, high of 82. Uh, 70—uh, 70 right now. No, it's supposed to be sunny today. So, these clouds I guess are going to go away. That's great. Uh, what's it doing in my hometown? Cleveland, same thing. Yeah. Yeah. Nice one. Um, last night's movie was Jaws. I mean, come on. The best. And I finally finished Department Q on Netflix. I'll figure out what movie is coming for tonight. Um, Cuomo has made a good comeback. Look, you know, was he inappropriate and weird with women? Yeah, a lot of guys are. They don't know how to get game. And also guys ex—well, it's difficult for someone like Cuomo or anybody who's inside of a bubble like how do you meet people who are not inside your bubble? I don't know. It's tricky. Um, I mean, the guy's entitled to like find a date or whatever. Sure, but uh, I don't know. Don't try—I guess what's the—Don't where you eat. Don't hit on girls at the office. And also it's an imbalance of power thing like—I remember it was that Jeff Zucker had when he was head of CNN before he got fired or asked to leave or however that went down. I don't even remember. And he was single. Um, single, divorced. I know his ex-wife. Lovely woman. But Jeff Zucker was single and um, dating someone who was also single at the office. It wasn't like—So, like that I didn't have a problem with. Like they were kind of equals. Like he wasn't, you know, I think. And yet that was a problem. But you know, Cuomo, don't go after interns. Like that—no, don't. No, don't go after like staffers. You just—no, no. There is something weird with men and I'll end with this. Um, men get weird cuz they need someone who's reverential, someone who's in awe of them, someone who thinks they're amazing, maybe more amazing than they really are. Um, and uh, there is this phenomenon called the security of lower companions. Men historically have really gone for this. Like they love the lower companion. Um, David Geffen married the hooker. Like, lower companion. How about an equal? Try an equal. Try someone who's a little bit more on your level. That's all. Try an equal. Am I going to watch the Joss Whedon documentary? Yes. Of course I am. It's going on Disney Plus or Hulu, I forgot, later this next week I think. Um, but yeah. Andrew Cuomo, David Geffen, every man in power. This idea of the security of lower companions, whether it's an intern, whether it's your hustler, uh, your hooker, your escort, whatever we're calling them now. Um, uh, your staffer, secretary, assistant. No. You go for an equal. Jeff Zucker and CNN and whoever that woman was. I think—are they still together? I don't even know. Like—They should—that should be fine. I don't know. Anyway, that's it. I'm going to shut up now. I love you guys for watching. Melissa, thank you for the tip. I appreciate it. It keeps this—it keeps it all alive and um, I don't know about never at work, Barbara. Let me just say I don't know about never at work. Cuz a lot of romance starts at the office. I think that's like—if it's with an equal, it's okay. Like really, just, you know, step carefully. Don't be an idiot. But when you're the boss, don't go for an employee. Keep it on your level. That's what I'm saying. That's all. Movie tonight, I don't know. Joey, you ask every day and I feel terrible. I don't have it at this time of the day yet. It's not even noon. For sake. Um, uh, but not with the big boss. No. No. No. No. No. Anyway, all right. Everyone have a good day. Get your coffee. Uh, it's going to be hot or warm today, so, you know, it gets humid. I need the AC sometimes in here even when it's not that hot cuz of the humidity like really like it's a lot. Anyway, love you kids. Be good. Do what it work. And also, if you're going to have an affair with the boss, understand the limitations and understand that you are not number one. If you're going to have an affair with the boss, know your lane and know your level. And you're not going to win—you're not going to get everything you want. If you're going to have an affair with the boss, you do it for the fun of it. And that's it. All right. Love you. Is that the right message? I don't know. I don't care. Okay, bye.
