But Judy and I went out last night, had this great experience at our friend Jessica Tarlov's invitation. And it was an invitation to celebrate not really just Jessica Tarlov and her new book, but it was also apparently a celebration of the life of Jessica Tarlov's father, Mark. And Jessica's mom was there, and Jessica made this... I guess Jessica's parents were big wine collectors, and it was at this wine... God, does one say cellar? I suppose it was down in Tribeca, not far from World Trade Center, and in this space that I've been to before. It's a space that is... it's an artist space used by my friend Leopoldo Gout, who is also an artist. His art is all over the place. His work is incredible. He's an artist. He's a painter. He's an author. He's a director. Like he's just sort of like a multidisciplined artist creator, really. Anyway, it was in his space. He wasn't there. Sorry about the sirens. And it was this just lovely tribute to Jessica's father at this party. There were all kinds of people there. I'd say it was about, I don't know, 60, 70 people there. It was a nice group. Maybe more. I'm terrible at headcounts. Could have been more. And one of the people in attendance who was a friend of Jessica's parents was Patricia Clarkson. Yes, I'm going to name drop. She has always been one of my favorites. Patricia Clarkson's one of those actresses where if you know that she's going to be in something, a film or a television show, you know it's going to be good. And even if the film or the show is not that great, she's going to steal every scene she's in because she always delivers. And wow, she's so hot. Anyway, that was a real treat. But it was a lovely tribute to Jessica's dad. I did not know the man. I never had the pleasure of knowing the man, but it was one of those things, and we've all been there. At least enough of us have been to one of those things where it's a tribute to someone we may never have met, but based on what people had said, it makes you wish you had known him. And I wish I had the opportunity to have met and known Jessica Tarlov's father, Mark. He just sounded like a terrific guy and was so beloved, and had a thing with making pancakes every morning. I guess it was a thing. And he was always working on his pancake recipe every morning, tweaking it a little bit. And I thought, you know, am I like that about anything? Maybe my coffee. I make coffee every morning and I'm always thinking of... I do think about how it could be better. Did I use too much water? Too many grinds? Like too many beans? But pancakes, that's next level. That's pretty serious. Anyway, that was lovely. I am off. I have to go in about 10 minutes to go get my flu shot. I hope everybody is getting their flu shot. And then I'm going to ask them while I'm there. I go to One Medical. One Medical is kind of that... One Medical is that supplement to your insurance. And it's that great layer. If anybody out there uses One Medical, you know what I'm talking about. It's just sort of like really greases the wheels of the health care experience. It's what... it's the health care experience everybody should have. We really shouldn't have to pay extra for this. It should just... this should be the baseline. One Medical, the One Medical experience should be the baseline in the United States for health care. Anyway, I'm very fortunate to be able to go. And I'm getting my... I just... I go to get blood work every few months because my cholesterol was peaking a little high and my doctor wants to make sure that the statin that I'm on is working, and it is. And so that's all great. Everything's looking good there. But I also go there to get shots and stuff. So yeah. Yeah. So I'm going to ask about the COVID one while I'm there getting the jab for the flu. I'm a big fan of vaccines. And I also want to send out a reminder to everybody, you know, that we got... if you're in one of those states that has... Oh god, Rene is getting the shingles vax. That one's a doozy. I did that one. It's a doozy. It's a two-parter and they will knock you... at least it knocked me out. But it's a good one. What was I going to say? Oh, elections. Yeah, if you're in one of those states that has early voting, lucky you. Ours doesn't start for a couple of weeks. Hi, Jim Aleppo. Jim Aleppo is a jotter as well. I love that Parker jotter. I always carry it with me. I have two. I have one that stays at home and one that I bring with me in a jacket in my breast pocket. But if you're in a state that has begun early voting, lucky you. I will go to early voting here in New York. I love early voting. And you know how important this election is. Midterms have traditionally been a referendum on a current administration, not just this one, but that's the historical... you know, that's how it seems to shake out. Anyway, I love how low his popularity is getting. I love how nutty he's getting. It is comical. He is ridiculous and everyone around him, and I mean the whole bunch starting from... Is she here? OH MY GOD. HEADBUTT.
Judy Gold 6:33 ↗
Hi.
George Hahn 6:35 ↗
I didn't know if you were going to make it. I was literally just... I did a quickie. I know I'm here.
Judy Gold 6:40 ↗
I didn't plan it. So, I'm sorry, but thank you so much. I was just... Here we go. Yeah, now I can hear you better. Can you hear me, honey?
George Hahn 6:50 ↗
Yeah. Are you there? Trying to... Yes, I'm here. All right, let me get my headphones sock. Oh.
Judy Gold 6:56 ↗
Um, there we go. And what is wrong with my... I can hear you through the speaker, but I want to be able to hear you through my headphones. And I got... That's what I'm doing. So, you know what I can try here is I can try that. Are you talking now? Oh, there we go. All right. I can hear you. Can you hear me? Okay, great. Yep. Oh my god, it's so exciting. Yes, that we can hear the... the sirens outside. They were just... watch... I can't take it anymore. The sirens were just passing my house. I just jumped on here for a quick live because I got to go run to get my flu vac. I'm encouraging everyone to get their vaccine.
George Hahn 7:44 ↗
Oh, I need to do that. Are you getting COVID?
Judy Gold 7:47 ↗
I'm going to ask them when I'm there. I go to... I go to One Medical and it's...
George Hahn 7:52 ↗
Where's One Medical?
Judy Gold 7:54 ↗
There's several. There's one near you on 100th and Broadway. I go to one at 81st and Broadway.
George Hahn 7:59 ↗
And why do you like One Medical? Why do you like that one?
Judy Gold 8:02 ↗
Well, one because it's close. But One Medical I like because it's the... it's the health care experience that we should all have. It's like you pay extra on top of your insurance. It's like 200 bucks a year. It's really not. And there's sometimes there's a little co-pay on the services. And I think One Medical experience is the baseline that every American should have for their health care. Like you never wait. There's always an appointment available. You can get a doctor on the phone. Like it's like it's what it...
George Hahn 8:34 ↗
But that's not your primary. That's just your...
Judy Gold 8:36 ↗
Yeah. My primary.
George Hahn 8:39 ↗
Yeah.
Judy Gold 8:41 ↗
Wow.
George Hahn 8:42 ↗
Yeah. We'll talk more about that.
Judy Gold 8:44 ↗
Yes. But I'm getting my bags and... What? I'm going to get... I'm going to ask about the COVID if they have one. I'm like, hit me twice, kids. Do it. Um, I had so much fun with you last night. I was just talking to the people about our amazing experience and how like, yeah, it was a book party-ish thing, but it was also this like... and I didn't know this going in that it was this lovely tribute to Jessica Tarlov's father, Mark, who was a beloved figure. And I'd never known him, but I now wish... I wish I had known him and met him. He sounded like...
George Hahn 9:20 ↗
Amazing.
Judy Gold 9:21 ↗
He sounds like an amazing person. And you could tell because of all those people that were there. They were all amazing.
George Hahn 9:28 ↗
Yeah.
Judy Gold 9:28 ↗
And also the wine. I know you abstain, but he had a wine. There was Cabernet from 1980. It was... I kept coming over. They kept giving me little sips of all the different wines. Oh my god. Oh my god.
George Hahn 9:46 ↗
The Tarlovs are wine nerds and Mark and his wife were collectors, Jessica's parents. And that's what we were... I guess the guests were privy to their collection, which was lovely, right?
Judy Gold 9:55 ↗
It was amazing. And also the fact that they want to share it, or you know, she wants to share it, is just beautiful. It's just beautiful. So yeah, I... thanks for going with me. I loved it.
George Hahn 10:10 ↗
I had a blast. I'm so glad that we went. And also, did you get a message on Instagram from Leopoldo Gout, the artist? Check your DMs.
Judy Gold 10:19 ↗
Oh, okay.
George Hahn 10:20 ↗
Because that's the... that's the space we were in last night. And Leopoldo is up my ass about talking about... talk about my space. Talk about my art. Why aren't you talking about my... like, relax.
Judy Gold 10:31 ↗
Oh my god, I didn't get anything. I don't... Oh, maybe I have to look in requests.
George Hahn 10:36 ↗
Maybe in your requests. Yeah. Yeah. Leopoldo Gout is a multidisciplined artist. He has a book out. It's one of the best horror books of the year. But he's a writer. He's a filmmaker. He's an artist. His art was all over this space that we were in last night.
Judy Gold 10:51 ↗
It was, yes. Yes. He sent me something.
George Hahn 10:54 ↗
He loves you.
Judy Gold 10:55 ↗
I love him.
George Hahn 10:56 ↗
He wants to hang out.
Judy Gold 10:58 ↗
Oh, let's do some... He's so talented.
George Hahn 11:02 ↗
Yeah. The artwork, you guys, in this space. And I didn't really do it justice with anything that I took in my camera, but he... there were paintings... like there were a lot of works in progress. You could tell there was... I mean every square foot of the walls, and this is like 30-foot ceilings, like... Right. Every square foot of the walls was covered full of his art.
Judy Gold 11:24 ↗
Yeah.
George Hahn 11:25 ↗
I can't believe they... they threw some paint on some of his artwork while we were there.
Judy Gold 11:32 ↗
Oh, they did?
George Hahn 11:33 ↗
No. I'm making that up. Okay.
Judy Gold 11:38 ↗
Give the guy a heart attack. Poor thing.
George Hahn 11:40 ↗
I know. I did that on purpose. Sorry. Um, so tell... you have a show coming on Thursday, kid.
Judy Gold 11:46 ↗
What is that, me?
