I don't like to say Donald Trump is crazy. First of all, I don't like that term. But then I think if there's actual, you know, if he may actually be prosecuted soon, we don't want people saying that he is unfit to stand trial because I think he's very fit to stand trial. But I think he is off on a lot of things because he is openly talking about going after his political enemies, using the DOJ to destroy their reputations. And he is naming names: Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, people he says that he could still pursue criminally if he wanted to. Now, this man is the president of the United States speaking here. He is responsible for upholding the Constitution and ensuring that the law is applied fairly to everyone. Instead, he's boasting out here talking about what he could potentially do to people that he doesn't like. But the what's the crime? But here's the extraordinary part to all this. While Trump is entertaining this idea of criminally pursuing his political opponents, he's also floating the possibility of pardoning himself. So apparently accountability is something that he wants for everybody else, but just not for himself. And when you hear these comments, you have to wonder where the line is between political rhetoric and actual threat to the use of the power of the presidency against the people he hates. I would not take it lightly. I would take it seriously because you see what he's doing to Ilhan Omar. It's crazy because I want you to listen carefully to what Trump says right here. He's not talking about specific crimes or evidence. He's not talking about destroying reputations. He is talking about destroying reputations. Watch.
You hurt me, and I become good at anti-impeachment. I call it the anti-impeachment movement. Right. But for them to do that is, it cheapens our country so much. It's really very terrible. And you know, and honestly, I could have done numbers on Hillary Clinton. I could have done numbers on Bill Clinton. I do like Bill Clinton. I could have done numbers on Barack Hussein Obama. I still could. I still could. I could do big numbers if I wanted to. I've turned down going after Hillary Clinton. Big numbers. I'm talking about go after them criminally, or I could have done something having to do with their reputations, destroyed their reputations. We have a lot of information about Hillary. We have a lot of information about Barack Hussein Obama. We have a lot of information on Sleepy Joe.
Okay, I'm torn because something is wrong with him. Something really is wrong with him. What kind of president talks like that? I mean, think about what he's saying. He's boasting about the damage that he believes that he could inflict on former presidents, political rivals through the criminal justice system. So, so how did the Justice Department, it's supposed to be the Justice Department, I don't know what you would call it now. I'd have to ask John Bolton, but how did it become his personal revenge department? The law is supposed to be about evidence, not whether Donald Trump likes you, not whether you criticized him, and certainly not whether he thinks that he can destroy your reputation. He wants everyone to have as terrible a reputation as he has, but that is, I don't think that's even possible. Donald Trump, people hate you. You are a ter, you're a bad person. You're a bad business person. And all of this just really solidifies what people think about you, your reputation. And then it gets even more interesting because while Trump is talking about going after other people, he's also discussing how he could protect himself. That's right. He wants to take criminal action against all of his political opponents, floating the possibility of pardoning himself and apparently the people who work for him, too. Watch this.
Joe Biden pardoned his brother, he pardoned his sister, he pardoned his son, he pardoned half of almost everybody.
He invented the preemptive pardon. So, I just have to ask you, are you seriously considering a self-pardon before you leave office?
Well, I don't think about it because I did nothing wrong. I could have given myself a pardon the last time I left office. I never thought that they'd bring me through the mud. Do you regret that? Well, I won, but I won the hard way. Yeah. I'm allowed to do a pardon, a self-pardon. I'm allowed to pardon. One thing, the only thing Biden did is he proved that, you know, the pardon is very powerful. I know that. They say it's the most powerful thing a president has, the power of pardon. I can tell you this, I don't want to see my people go through because these people are lunatics on the left. I don't want to see people that work for me go through years of nonsense, hire lawyers and everything else all for nothing. So, I'm probably glad I didn't do it the first time, but I had to go through a lot. But I won. I don't want my people to go through, you know, at the end of two and a half years, we will have done things that nobody's ever done. There's...
Good Lord, the delusion. Let's bring John Bolton in. Hey, John Bolton. Good morning to you. Hey John, how are you?
I've been better. I don't know if you saw the mishap I had with my little hair trimmer in the shower and so I had to just, I had to trim it all off. You know, the consequences of falling out of favor with the president.
You're his former national security adviser if you criticize him or at least tell the truth about him. You served inside the White House becoming the most outspoken critic I believe that he has that has credibility and he put the full force of the justice department on you and so you had to plead guilty to things, whatever you had the sentencing last month, all that stuff. So we know that when you hear him talk and say my words, not yours, like this, what is going on?
Well, I think Trump understands that the power of prosecution is an enormous power and his retribution campaign, which I predicted unfortunately correctly back in January of 2024, was going to be one of the highlights of his second term. And I think that's what we've seen in operation. I don't get into the specifics of my case, but you can see it. And Trump knows that part of the retribution is simply the process of going through the investigation. He said it in that little clip you ran, but it's time, effort, energy, resources, almost to the point where whatever the outcome is, is less important than putting people through that ringer. But I thought what was most important of all perhaps for the next two years in that clip was his comments about the information that he has or that the Justice Department has they can use against people like political opponents Obama, the Clintons and so on simply to damage their reputation. You know, in the American legal system, the prosecutor decides either you bring a case or you close the file. That's it. It's not the government's responsibility to comment on the behavior of its citizens. If there's a prosecution warranted, you bring it, you try it in court, you see what happens. If you don't have the evidence or there's some other reason, the file is closed. And that's the way it should be. This gratuitously dumping information out on people which may be reliable, credible, or not. I mean, that's just another form of intimidation, and it's unacceptable.
Do you really think he would try to put Obama and the Clintons in jail or prosecute them?
You know, there may be somebody left who would tell him that's not a good idea. But let's face it, in the last two years of his second term where it's clear every day that goes by, he's closer to the end of the presidency. Very hard to predict what'll be going through his mind. I do think he understands, not that he's barred from a third term. I think what he understands is if he tried to get it, he'd lose. And he doesn't want to go down in history as a loser. So, I don't think he's going to try to get it. But as those days dwindle down and he realizes he's about to lose his ballroom and the helipad and all the trappings of the presidency, who knows what he will turn to at that point.
So, people ask me all the time, how do I stay lean? And lately, I have noticed something else because those weight loss shot commercials, they are everywhere. People almost assume now that if somebody loses weight or if they're lean, they must be on the shot. But not everybody wants weekly injections. Now, some people hear needle and they say, "No, thank you." And some people hear about the side effects and they want to know what the other options are out there. And that's where this comes in. It's called Lean. Doctors at Brick House Nutrition created Lean. It's a weight loss supplement with studied ingredients shown to help lower blood sugar, burn fat by converting into energy, and curb appetite and cravings so you're not hungry. And Lean isn't meant for somebody trying to just drop two or three pounds. That's not what it's for. Why is he obsessed with these folks? Do you think it's because he genuinely dislikes them? Because he knows, he has to know that there's nothing that he can do criminally. But do you think it's just because he genuinely doesn't like them or he is trying to come up with something to take people's minds off of how horrible the job that he's doing for the country right now with his low approval ratings? The economy is in the tank. Inflation is up. Everything, gas prices are up, grocery prices, all of the things. When he, you know, he knows he's doing a bad job and he could lose and perhaps he could be prosecuted if they gain control perhaps of the House and Senate.
Well, I think it's both those things. He likes to troll people. I mean, take the example of Denmark and Greenland where basically we've reached an agreement with Greenland we could have reached back in 2019 on dealing with American military presence in Greenland. Very satisfactory to both sides. But he still talks. He tweets and he talks about America taking control of Greenland. Puts American flags on the island and tweets and things like that. It's not because he is devoting any time to it. He just knows it irritates them. I tell the story in my book once I went into the Oval Office to tell him something. Don't even remember what it was, but he was in the middle of dictating a tweet. And we all know when he's doing a tweet, you don't interrupt him. And he's dictating the tweet and he said to the person there, put that last sentence all in capital letters, which he does frequently. And I was just standing there. He turned to me and said, "You know why I do that?" And I said, "No, why?" And he said, "Because it drives them crazy." That's what a lot of this is about. He just knows it drives them crazy.
Yeah. But I think that drives them crazy is going to backfire because it does drive people crazy and it may drive people to pull the lever. That's the old thing for those of us who are old enough. You kids don't know what a lever is, but we used to pull a lever in the voting booth and now we don't do that. But it may get them to vote for someone else. All right. So hearing that, John, in your opinion, is he all there?
