I wouldn't want to say a formal goodbye. Albeit farewell the planesman's way, and I'm off dancing, for that's truly the very best way to make an exit. I'll be back very, very soon so we can keep on fighting. Yes, fighting, dancing. Yes, dancing and triumphing. Yes, triumphing. Long live our homeland.
Taking place right here. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro issued a stern Christmas Eve warning to Donald Trump during the El Halakaso celebrations in the capital.
Maduro sings and shakes a leg during the festivities.
President Nicolás Maduro has come to spend time with the young people, with the grandparents, with the children of this home. In a stern message, the Venezuelan president said imperialism cannot defeat the countrymen, warning that he would be back soon.
I was just a very young boy, a mere child. I was 16, 17 years old when I first came to know all these streets of Marine. From here, we would walk all the way to Larna, passing through the neighborhood and then emerged by Larna, Laoka Tarpa, and all this entire area. I have never been nor will I ever be a magnet. I am like all of you. A man of the street, an ordinary man, a man from the neighborhoods. This is our school. What's so Celita? Her friends call her Celinda. She really wants to extend a warm greeting to all of you. And that is precisely why imperialism can never truly defeat us. And I was just telling Noel something that is absolutely true. The very last time I walked through these streets and I remember it clearly, I could never return again because of the deep sadness. It was on August 15th, 1980 at 5:00 in the afternoon when they announced to us the terrible tragedy of group Madera.
We wish before the people to sign the correspondence that we will send to the citizen constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela today on Christmas Eve, December 23rd, on which we have approved a dignified law, a law for the defense and care of our homeland, the protection law pertaining to the freedoms of navigation and commerce against piracy, blockades, and other illicit international acts. Before the people of Venezuela, I signed this corresponding missive for the purpose of ensuring that the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is pleased to promulgate the corresponding law.
There's no answer. He could do whatever he wants. I mean, we have a massive armada formed, the biggest we've ever had. And by far the biggest we've ever had in South America. He could do whatever he wants. It's all right. Whatever he wants to do. If he wants to do something, if he plays tough, it'll be the last time he's ever able to play tough.
I spoke with President Donald Trump on November 20th. It was very cordial, a respectful conversation, and afterwards I became quite reflective, you know, and I've been reflecting in recent days on all the illegal aggressions that have taken place. I believe that President Trump could actually do a much better job in his own country and around the world. He would be much better off, wouldn't he? Within his own country dealing with the economic and social issues, he would fare much better in the world if he would only address the pressing issues of his own country. Every president should really stick to their own business, focusing on the matters of their nation because it's simply unacceptable that 70% of his public speeches and official statements and his valuable time are dedicated to Venezuela. If I speak to him again, I'm going to tell him that everyone should mind their own internal affairs. Here in Venezuela, we Venezuelans handle them because the people of the United States voted against foreign interventions, voted against endless wars, voted against regime change. So the people of the United States voted for a new United States, one adapted to humanity, that respects sovereignty, that makes no more interventions, that does not harass any country, and that does not lead countries toward war.
