  1. 0:01What can you share with us on that?
  2. 2:28What's keeping you up at night?
  3. 3:25Is that going to perhaps be a focus area or priority that you would want to consider doubling down on?
  4. 6:36... because on the back of the usage, the adoption, the acceptance that you have seen in India, is there anything specific that you've taken back in terms of learnings to iterate for the next wave of product launches that we could expect?

Welcome back. You're watching the Global Dialogue. We're in conversation with the Chief Product Officer at OpenAI, Kevin Weil, on the big launch that they announced last night. You have of course had a busy week, but ChatGPT 5, is there a push back there? How much, what is the kind of delay that we should expect and what should we be looking forward to now in terms of next steps? There's a lot of rumors and speculation around a Twitter kind of product. What can you share with us on that?
Kevin Weil 0:34 ↗
Yeah. Well, we're very excited about GPT-5. There are teams working on it as we speak and I think it's going to be a fantastic new model when we get there. But in general, this is the year that ChatGPT goes from answering questions for you to doing things for you in the real world. So by that I mean we launched a product earlier this year called Operator that can browse the web like a human and do things for you. It can order food for you through an online food ordering website, but it can also fill out forms. It can shop. It can do anything that you would do on the web. And of course you're in control the whole way. Before it takes a definitive action, it will pause and ask you if you want it to continue some action. But when I think about the time I spend on the web, I bet 30 or 40% of the time that I'm browsing the web, it's not because I want to be doing what I'm doing. It's because I have to get something done and there's some series of pages and forms I have to fill out and other things. I would love an AI to do that for me. I would absolutely love for an AI to fill out those forms for me so that I can concentrate on either getting more work done or spending more time with my family. And this is the year when AI begins to do more things like that for you. And I'm very excited about that. It comes because of the advances that we're making with these reasoning models that are getting smarter and safer and it comes with integrations into the sites that you know and use every day, so that our models can understand them and can take action on your behalf.
Interviewer 2:14 ↗
You didn't respond to the rumors and the speculation around a likely Twitter-like product launch.
Kevin Weil 2:23 ↗
Uh, we'll see. We'll see.
Interviewer 2:28 ↗
Kevin, I know you don't sleep a lot, so let me end by asking you, what's keeping you up at night? I mean, is it Anthropic? Is it DeepSeek? What's keeping you up at night?
Kevin Weil 2:39 ↗
Honestly, we have so many fun things coming. What's keeping me up at night is much more trying to make sure that we deliver as fast as we can and deliver the best products that we can as fast as I know we can to all of the people around the world that rely on us. There's a lot of good stuff coming. I wish I could take you through the entire roadmap here. But I'm very excited by it. The whole industry is moving fast. Our competitors are doing great things as well, but I've never seen something grow the way that ChatGPT is growing globally and specifically in India, it's such an important market for us. So we've got a lot more great stuff coming and I think people are really going to like it a lot.
