Welcome everyone to the Beijing Auto Show. Two years ago in April, the first Xiaomi car was successfully delivered, marking the official start of our Xiaomi Auto journey. In just two years, starting from zero, we have already delivered 650,000 vehicles. This is an incredible and amazing achievement.
What makes me even more proud is that JD Power, a globally renowned market research institution, showed in their latest owner survey report that among similar models, both the SU7 and YU7 ranked first in quality and product appeal index. I am truly, truly excited to receive so much recognition from car owners.
Of course, not long ago, we also welcomed Xiaomi Auto's first model upgrade. On March 19th, we released the new generation Xiaomi SU7. So how is it going? I am proud to tell everyone that as of today, locked orders have exceeded 60,000 units.
This is Xiaomi's first model upgrade. What we particularly wanted to improve was the car delivery experience for owners. So this time, we started preparing two months in advance, truly achieving delivery upon release and immediate volume ramp-up. We started delivering on the third day after the release. As of today, in 35 days, we have delivered 26,000 units, significantly improving the delivery experience for Xiaomi car owners.
Today, buying a new SU7 no longer requires waiting a very long time like in the past two years. So today, I ask for your help to promote us more. To our friends in the media, I also want to say that in just two years, our capabilities in supply, manufacturing, and delivery have improved significantly across the board. Here, let's also give a round of applause for our Xiaomi manufacturing and delivery teams.
The new generation SU7 has comprehensively improved its product strength. It's good-looking, fun to drive, intelligent, and safe. Another very important feature is its exceptionally strong range. The CLTC range of the Max version is up to 902 kilometers.
After our product launch, various media outlets were not shy and conducted tests under all kinds of conditions, including many live-streamed tests. The performance was very, very outstanding. Let me take a common scenario: Autohome tested daily city commuting conditions. The actual test result was 892 kilometers, with an achievement rate of 98.9%. This range retention rate is already quite formidable.
So, we also welcome more friends to experience our car's super range capability in real-world conditions. Last Friday, I also took on a major challenge myself: driving from Beijing to Shanghai, starting with a full charge, driving at top speed. In the end, I drove 1,313 kilometers, charging only once in the middle. The entire 15-hour and 4-minute non-stop live broadcast, witnessed by tens of millions of netizens, showed the Xiaomi SU7 Pro's extremely powerful highway range capability.
The chassis of the new SU7 has been greatly upgraded. Its performance is stronger, and the driving quality is more outstanding. The racetrack is the ultimate test for a car's performance and handling. This time, we tested the strength of our new generation SU7 at the Zhejiang Circuit. So how did it do? The SU7 Max's latest lap time at the Zhejiang Circuit is 1 minute 37.974 seconds.
This means that on the Zhejiang Circuit leaderboard, it ranks fifth among all four-door production cars. This result surpasses many million-dollar sports cars, making it the undisputed fastest four-door production car under 500,000 yuan. I believe every Xiaomi colleague is incredibly proud of this result. Let's watch the video introduction together.
Isn't it very, very awesome? Next, let's talk about the Xiaomi YU7. This is Xiaomi's first SUV. In the 10 months since its launch, deliveries have exceeded 230,000 units. It is the sales champion of mid-to-large SUVs in the past year, regardless of energy type.
Today, we are grandly announcing that the highly anticipated YU7 GT will be released at the end of May. Today, I will briefly introduce the Xiaomi YU7 GT to everyone. First, this is an authentic, pure-blooded GT. You've heard the term GT many times, but what exactly is an authentic GT? GT is an Italian term, Gran Turismo. Its Chinese meaning is 'great journey.' Over the past 100 years of the automotive industry, GT has represented high-performance luxury cars suitable for long-distance travel.
So the YU7 GT is exactly such a sports-car-level SUV that is capable of long-distance travel and full of driving fun. First, it has a very handsome, war-horse-like stance, with an iconic long hood and a sports-car-level wide-body design, full of power. And it also has this cherry-red exterior color, rich, full, warm, and translucent. It's a deep red fruit color. I believe its popularity will be no less than the new SU7's 'electric stone green.' It looks steady, luxurious, and expensive in dim light, and reflects a full, translucent pearlescent texture in sunlight. A very, very premium color.
And this YU7 GT has 1,000 horsepower, a top speed of 300 kilometers per hour, and under such high performance, it still has a range of over 700 kilometers. This is an unprecedented masterpiece in the GT category. It has both 1,000 horsepower and a 700-kilometer range, which is very, very impressive.
At the same time, we also hope this car can be as fun to drive as a top-tier German car, fast in a straight line and also fast and stable in corners. To make such a car, we need to tune and test it in extremely harsh environments. This time, we chose the Nürburgring Nordschleife. You might say, isn't the Nürburgring a racetrack? This time, we are using the racetrack as a test ground. The Nürburgring is the best place to verify a vehicle's ultimate stability. It's over 20 kilometers of two-lane mountain roads, with 177 corners, elevation changes of over 300 meters, and changeable weather. So its environment is extremely harsh. We want to use this track to hone our straight-line top speed and various cornering performances.
Also, at the beginning of this year—actually, at the beginning of last year—we established a European R&D center in Munich, Germany, and gathered a group of world-class technical experts and renowned designers. And this GT is the first model that our European R&D center has been deeply involved in. Today, I will also briefly introduce some of our European R&D experts. The first is Rudy, the head of our European R&D center, a German. He worked at BMW for over 20 years, always doing vehicle tuning. He served as the technical director of BMW's M division for a long time. The M4 GT3 is his work.
Klaus is the head of vehicle dynamics at our European R&D center. He worked at BMW, engaged in chassis engineering for nearly 30 years, and has over 20 years of testing experience on the Nürburgring. He was responsible for the chassis calibration of BMW's 3 Series and 4 Series.
Our European R&D center also has an outstanding design team. They all come from top car companies like Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW. Our European R&D design director is Jean, a Frenchman. Next, I will use a video to briefly introduce our European R&D technical experts and designers.
This GT is the first model that our European R&D experts have been deeply involved in tuning. It will be officially released at the end of May. Please stay tuned.
Speaking of this, finally, let's talk about the Vision GT concept car. Wow! At the beginning of this year, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we first unveiled the Xiaomi VGT concept car. As soon as this car was unveiled, it sparked widespread attention and praise from global media and users. Let's watch the real-shot video.
Many people may not be very familiar with the VGT project. Let me briefly introduce it. VGT is an initiative launched by Sony's racing simulation platform, Gran Turismo. It invites top global car manufacturers to design supercars of the future. That's the project. And Xiaomi is the first Chinese brand to be invited. Then, our Xiaomi design team designed this VGT concept car, which, along with concept cars from top global manufacturers, entered the VGT Global Hall of Fame. Xiaomi's design has also received high recognition from global peers.
For an electric supercar, low drag is certainly important, but low drag is not everything. Sometimes, the importance of downforce is also highlighted. In the past, when designing supercars, what was done? They added large rear wings, large front splitters, and various other add-on parts. These add-on parts increased weight, but the efficiency improvement was still not enough. So when we designed an electric supercar for the future, we created a completely new aerodynamic layout.
We borrowed from the aerospace field's 'lifting body' design. In the most advanced aircraft, how is it designed now? The wing and fuselage are integrated into one whole. The specially designed fuselage itself can also provide lift. This design is very, very advanced. When we applied this concept to car design, we inverted the lifting body, which generated a large amount of downforce. This is our concept car's innovative 'inverted lifting body' body design.
Let's take a look. It's this body design. The airflow accelerates through the narrow channel formed between the lower surface of the body and the ground, creating a pressure difference between the top and bottom, forming huge downforce. And without using too many extra structures and add-ons, it creates very strong downforce. This design is very innovative and leading in global vehicle design.
So what is the simulation result? Its aerodynamic efficiency reaches an astonishing 4.1. What is aerodynamic efficiency? It means for every unit of drag added, it brings 4.1 units of downforce. The aerodynamic efficiency of very advanced supercars is around 3. Our VGT, due to its innovative design, achieved 4.1, which is quite incredible.
So the VGT's future-oriented innovative design balances lightweight and aerodynamic efficiency very well. We also made bold, future-oriented intelligent interactions. When you sit in this car, various sensors can fully perceive human information. When you are driving at high speed, the vehicle can directly perceive the driver's state and heart rate data, helping you better control this electric supercar, achieving true man-machine integration.
Finally, let's look at the design language of this car. It hides all aerodynamic components inside the body. The entire exterior is shaped by the wind, making the whole body integrated, looking like a suspended water droplet, simple and pure. At the same time, it also has Xiaomi Auto's family design language, such as the cross-shaped headlights and the halo taillights. It looks like a typical Xiaomi car, right? Okay, do you want to see the real car? Come, let me unveil it for you.
Handsome? Handsome! This is also the first time the VGT concept car has been shown in China. Five years ago, Xiaomi announced its entry into car manufacturing. For the automotive industry, Xiaomi is just a newcomer. In just five years, Xiaomi Auto has created many, many miracles. For example, delivering 650,000 cars in just two years, the Ultra setting a new record on the Nürburgring, and the Xiaomi VGT concept car receiving recognition from global peers.
But to this day, there are still many people who don't know much about Xiaomi Auto and even have some prejudices. Today, welcome to our booth to take a closer look. You might have a completely new understanding of Xiaomi Auto. Today's press conference ends here. Friends in the live broadcast room, don't leave. Later, I will take you to see our booth. Thank you, everyone.
Next, we will invite our chief designer, Li Tianyuan, and our European R&D designer, Jean, to introduce this VGT to everyone.
So, after we finish talking about the interior, I see this wheel hub is also very handsome. The wheel hub, yes, the wheel hub is also very handsome. Let me close the door. Okay. Actually, our wheel hub design has always been a big point that troubles us. Because we all know that wheel hub design needs low wind resistance. For low wind resistance, we need to design the wheel hub to be very flat. But this wheel hub uses a magnetic levitation structure. That is, when the car is moving, the outer semi-transparent cover will not rotate. The advantage of this is that it can effectively reduce the airflow interference caused by wheel hub rotation, effectively reducing wind resistance and further increasing our aerodynamic efficiency. And the inside, the gear-shaped part, is actually a bit like a turbine principle. It can bring cold air in and hot air out, which is for cooling the brakes. This is our 'black hole' magnetic levitation wheel hub design, which is also very unique.
I think this is also very distinctive. And this wind tunnel, actually, the cameraman can also look at this angle. You can stand on my side. This angle. Yes, then I'll come over here. Look at that wind tunnel. Everyone can see that this is the front part of our car and the cockpit part. Actually, the two are in a suspended state. Its function is that when the airflow flows in from the front, part of the airflow goes along the bottom of the car, and part of the airflow goes along the top of the car. This is the 'lifting body' and 'inverted lifting body' we just talked about. The advantage of this is that it allows the airflow to better adhere to the top and bottom surfaces of the car without being cut and running around too much. This can effectively reduce our wind resistance. It's actually a bit like a water droplet state, a suspended design.
Then let me tell you about another very interesting feature, which is this shark fin. Oh. It's actually a bit like a fish fin. It's actually our vertical stabilizer. Such vertical stabilizers are often seen on Le Mans race cars. It's a standard functional part. Its function is to effectively reduce the impact of crosswinds on the car when it's turning at high speed, to stabilize the crosswinds effectively, ensuring the car doesn't skid or slide sideways, increasing its stability. This is our shark fin design.
Finally, let me talk about the exterior paint. This time, our paint looks a bit like a silver-gray at first glance, but inside, if the cameraman can give a close-up, you can see it has a water-blue highlight reflection. It actually looks very much like celadon, very warm and layered, and has this jade-like feeling. It's very full and beautiful. This is our VGT design for today. Why don't we, President Lei, go over there and look at our other models? Okay. Let's go over there and look at our other models. Yes, this time we have all three cars on display: the SU7, SU7 Ultra, and YU7. Let's take everyone to see the SU7 Ultra first.
I especially want to ask, has our friend Jean ever driven this Ultra? Have you ever tried this car?
