Good evening everyone, welcome to my live stream. This is our third live stream this month. At the beginning of last year, I set a goal to do one every month, but I only did four or five. So, I've decided to make up for the missed live streams this year. I actually want to use this method to maintain timely communication and exchange with our car owners and friends who care about and support Xiaomi. Today, I mainly want to talk about the new generation Su7 that everyone is concerned about. The new generation Su7 was just announced on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Also, I'd like to respond to some new questions raised by everyone recently. Netizens commented that our last live stream was very engaging, saying they watched it like a variety show, and some praised me, saying that the familiar Lei Jun is back. I think maybe the atmosphere of the last live stream was more relaxed, and I answered many questions more frankly. Anyway, I'll try to maintain the same communication style as last time. Now, I'd like to invite Xiao Shuang, our Shuang Ge, to give us a briefing. Xiaomi Auto has some good news recently.
Okay, Mr. Li, I see that just now, in our live broadcast room, many people were still asking whether this was a pre-recorded or live broadcast. I see people asking this question every time. This is definitely a live broadcast, it's really a live broadcast. It's 7:59 PM now, it's the evening of January 15th. We can see that this is definitely a live broadcast. Every time we say it's a live broadcast, it's a live broadcast. There's no such thing as a pre-recorded broadcast. Can everyone help us clarify this? Okay, also, on behalf of Xiaomi Auto, I'd like to report on the progress of our Xiaomi Auto business in the past. As you know, last year, our total annual deliveries exceeded 400,000, 410,000. And our car owners also reached 500,000 in November last year. This is a very, very important milestone for us. And behind this, the sales performance of both the Su7 and Yu7 has gained huge recognition from consumers. Here, I'll give you a brief summary. Director, can you help me see this close-up? Cut to a close-up. Based on this online platform... According to data from Autohome, our Su7 is the number one selling sedan priced over 200,000 yuan, regardless of energy type, for the entire year. This is a truly remarkable achievement. For me personally, in the first year after launching the Su7, we absolutely never imagined we could achieve this. Last time, I posted on Weibo that I thought the Su7 surpassed the Tesla Model 3. I think this is a very remarkable thing, and it's the first time a domestic car, especially a pure electric sedan, has surpassed the Model 3. Anyway, some people criticized me, which I found strange. I think this is a remarkable achievement for domestic cars. Now, let's talk about our Yu7. With the rapid increase in our deliveries, the Xiaomi Yu7 has also achieved the number one sales ranking for mid-to-large SUVs for five consecutive months. That is to say, as long as our delivery volume keeps up, we will be the number one selling mid-to-large SUV every month. So, these two achievements are very valuable and hard-won for us, and we are especially grateful for everyone's recognition and support. Ah, let me repeat myself. I think these good news are not only the result of the joint efforts of all colleagues in Xiaomi's automotive department, but more importantly, they come from the recognition and support of our car owners. Here, I would also like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude. Some time ago, we achieved the delivery of 500,000 units. Because it took us a year and eight months, yes, we achieved the delivery of 500,000 units. In the year and nine months since the launch of Xiaomi Auto, there have been some particularly amazing videos, which were also shot by car owners. They can even be used to make commercials. People even joke that Xiaomi Auto's commercials are all shot by car owners. I also asked my colleagues to compile a video. Let's all take a look at the Xiaomi Auto commercials that car owners have helped us shoot over the past period.
After watching it, don't you have the same feeling as me, that is, how come Xiaomi Auto owners are so talented? I think they are a group of people who understand and love Xiaomi. I once suggested to our marketing department that we should recruit more car owners like them to join our Xiaomi Auto department. I welcome everyone to send their resumes to Shuang Ge. Welcome everyone to join Xiaomi! Let's work together to promote and publicize the cars that all our colleagues in the Xiaomi Auto Department have painstakingly built.
Especially, as Lei Jun mentioned earlier, we also warmly welcome everyone to submit your resumes online. You can search for 'Li Xiaoshuang' on my account and send him a private message. Yes, and regarding what Lei Jun mentioned earlier, we've seen a lot of discussion online about our car owners, and there's a very special group of kids—a lot of children who really love our Xiaomi cars. Actually, I discussed this with Xiaoshuang today. Why do these kids seem to like Xiaomi cars so much? I've never heard of any other brand of car receiving such deep affection from children. I've seen many clips online, and today I've specifically found two to share with you. Let's take a look.
Besides this, I actually saw many friends forwarding this before. You also forwarded it that day. I was very moved after watching it. And everyone commented that this is our best advertisement for Xiaomi cars. Oh, I think there are quite a few similar advertisements. Ah, this one mainly has bullet comments. The whole bullet comments are full of congratulations, congratulations, blessings. It's really touching to see. This is a blessing for this child and a blessing for this family. Okay, I also saw a video a couple of days ago. I also saw a video that was very interesting. It was about a 5-year-old boy who really loves cars. And when he introduced our Xiaomi cars, he was very knowledgeable. Almost like our top salesperson, right? I saw the comments from netizens saying he's even better than me, right? Maybe, there's still a certain gap. Everyone jokes that I'm the top salesperson. Actually, I think this kid is definitely much, much better at selling cars than me. He not only speaks very accurately... He can even demonstrate it to you with great enthusiasm. Netizens call him the 'Car Expert.' Ah, Car Expert! Director, can you cut us again? Let me tell you, all four doors and windows are soundproof. Look, do you find it noisy now? Those with larger ears might hear it more clearly. Still noisy, right? Wow, it's quiet now, right? Soundproof glass. The effect is really good. Xiao Ai (AI assistant), hey, turn on the massage function for the two front seats. Both seats are massaged. Wow, so comfortable. Three brightness levels adjustable. Three levels. The brightness of the central control screen is adjusted to 30%. The current air conditioning is on auto. Do you not know where the temporary parking is? Our car's temporary parking is right here. Why isn't it there? On top. Ah, a special thank you to this young man. His introduction to us was really very professional. Wow, this car-savvy little brother! Car Expert! Really, when he introduces products, he's really, really vivid. He introduced our soundproofing. He introduced our Xiao Ai car control. He also introduced our super large vanity mirror. The makeup mirror has three adjustable settings. He introduced many product details inside. Actually, I don't know how they learned about our product. Where did they see it? These little kids, only a few years old, how do they know so much about our product? I think firstly, they are genuinely interested in and passionate about cars. They've loved playing with all sorts of cars since they were little, and they get excited when they see different kinds on the road. I was surprised to see elements of our Xiaomi car in some children's games. Those were all spontaneous, not commercial activities, and not something the game developers did themselves. Anyway, it was really fun! I think we could invite these kids to be product consultants and hear their opinions; maybe we can make our product even better. I think if a car can get this kind of support from kids, it will definitely be popular. So recently, I've been seeing all sorts of videos about Xiaomi cars online. Thank you so much for your love and support! We also welcome everyone to submit videos. If I see such a good video, I will forward it to share it with more people so that everyone can truly understand our car owners and this group of people. Actually, besides China, there are also some experts and big names in the overseas automotive circle, including professional media, who are very interested in our Xiaomi cars. And after they have actually experienced them, their evaluations are also very good. For example, I saw online that the CEO of Ford drove our car for half a year, and his evaluation was very good. I even made a screenshot of his evaluation online.
Okay, I also saw it online. This Ford CEO is named Jim Farley. When he came to China to do research, he selected 5 cars out of 50 cars in China and airlifted them back for in-depth experience and research. Among them was the Xiaomi Su7. His evaluation was that the Xiaomi Su7 amazed him the most. He even didn't want to change cars after driving it for 6 months. So, many domestic car owners have reported that the Xiaomi Su7... It gets better and better to drive, and the more you drive it, the more you love driving it. Of course, our car owners include many former owners of BBA (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi) cars, and even many owners of luxury cars. So I think it's really difficult for a car to gain the approval of a CEO in the same industry. Therefore, I think the Xiaomi Su7's good sales and popularity among so many car owners have their reasons. It's good-looking and easy to drive. Moreover, recently, the overseas tech blogger MKB also gave it high praise. I believe many people have seen his review video. He should be considered a top-tier tech blogger overseas. He believes that the Xiaomi Su7 has achieved elite-level performance in all aspects, even the configuration, workmanship, design, software, battery life, and control are perfectly integrated. In the comment section below his review video, foreign netizens also discussed it very enthusiastically and gave the Xiaomi Su7 very high recognition. Some people said that the Xiaomi Su7 looks worth at least $120,000, but it only costs more than $40,000 in China. So, the Xiaomi Su7 has actually caused a great sensation globally. I remember that. When our Su7 was first launched, he hadn't driven it, but he still gave his online review. At the time, there was a lot of skepticism about Xiaomi's car manufacturing. But recently, after an in-depth test drive and experience, his doubts were dispelled, and he gave us a very high rating. He even chose the Xiaomi Su7 as the runner-up model of the year from various global models. I was very curious why he didn't give us the championship if he liked it so much. His reason was quite funny; he said the main reason was that it wasn't available in the US, so we could only get second place. We are very grateful for MKB's recognition. So, there's a lot of inaccurate information online. If you're interested in the Xiaomi Su7, I think everyone is welcome to come to our store for a test drive and experience it firsthand. If this car wasn't good, it wouldn't have received such high recognition from owners worldwide. So, speaking of which, I especially welcome everyone to visit our store, and also to have your friends who drive Xiaomi cars experience it for themselves. Because whether a car is good or not, you can only know after truly experiencing and driving it yourself. If you don't feel a significant difference after driving it for a day, well, you can drive it for a few more days, right? Of course, most people will know how effective it is as soon as they get behind the wheel. Okay, there's another way. You can ask your car owner friends what they think of the car. Well, just look at the reviews from people who have actually used it. I believe everyone can find all sorts of answers. I think the first-generation Su7 sold over 360,000 vehicles in just one year and nine months, averaging 17,000 per month. To achieve such sales results and become the number one sedan priced over 200,000, I think it's impossible without some solid performance. So, I strongly recommend that everyone come to the store for a test drive. We still have a small number of first-generation Su7s in stock, and there are some small discounts. You can come to the store to take a look, or you can purchase it through our Xiaomi Auto APP and take delivery immediately. Okay, speaking of which, let me also promote some products. Starting from New Year's Day this year, January 1st, we have launched a series of sales policies. First of all... The most popular one is the one I mentioned above, which says '3-year 0% interest on all models.' Please switch the camera. We currently have a 3-year 0% interest policy for all Xiaomi models. This is a limited-time offer available until February 28th. Down payments can be as low as 74,900 yuan, and monthly payments as low as 4,961 yuan. This policy has been very popular since its launch and can help many people with financial difficulties. It's a great option for those with tight cash flow. This is a very important policy, and everyone loves it. Of course, some people might say that Tesla recently launched an even more impressive 7-year low-interest financial policy. Wow, after that policy came out, many netizens left comments on my Weibo, urging Xiaomi to offer a 7-year low-interest policy. Sometimes I think people might want us to further lower the purchase threshold, so I had the team do some urgent research these past few days, and we've launched it now. A 7-year low-interest policy is available for everyone to check out. Starting tonight at midnight, until the end of February, all models of the Yi7 and the first-generation Su7 are eligible. Let's see how low the entry barrier for the Yi7 is: a down payment of 4.99 yuan and monthly payments as low as 2,593 yuan. That means a down payment of less than 50,000 yuan and monthly payments of just over 2,000 yuan, you can buy a standard version of the Xiaomi Yi7. So, the entry barrier has indeed been significantly lowered. If you are interested, please pay attention. For more details, please check the Xiaomi Auto APP or visit our store to talk to our sales consultants. Okay, tonight, in a few hours, at midnight on the 16th, it will start. Also, we have just added a new limited-time benefit: before February 28th, if you place an order for the Xiaomi 10, all models will receive a free dual zero-gravity seat. New users can get this as soon as they place an order. This is a configuration that has received very good reviews and experiences from everyone. All models have dual zero-gravity seats, for both the driver and passenger. Yes, I rarely own a car... Yes, the driver's seat is a dual zero-gravity seat, meaning both the driver and front passenger seats are dual zero-gravity seats. Oh, just now, our colleague reminded me that the 7-year low-interest rate means the down payment is less than 50,000 yuan, 49,900 yuan. Yes, you forgot the '10,000' part; you said it starts at 49,900. I got a little flustered and forgot the '10,000,' so there might be a misunderstanding. Um, until the end of February, if you buy a Yiqi car now, all models come with a free dual zero-gravity seat. This is for new customers who lock in their order. What about customers who have already locked in their order but haven't received their delivery? I think you can also enjoy this benefit by paying an additional 1,000 yuan as the final payment. That is, if you have locked in your order but haven't received your car, you only need to pay the 1,000 yuan final payment, and we will still give you a free dual zero-gravity seat. That is, before 24:00 on February 28th, if you pay the 1,000 yuan final payment in advance, and if you have already selected and paid for the dual zero-gravity seat... We will deduct another 18,000 yuan from the final payment. If you didn't choose this option, you can still enjoy a free limited-time upgrade when you pay the 1,000 yuan final payment in advance, without affecting your delivery cycle. So this benefit is very good. In addition, we also have a small number of Xiaomi cars in stock, including display cars and nearly new cars. Please contact our sales consultants. The delivery cycle for these cars will be very fast. At the beginning of this month, we launched a small benefit for existing car owners: if you recommend a friend to buy a Xiaomi car, we will reward you with 8,000 points.
Last week, I tried it and posted it on Weibo. Then someone asked, 'Hey, if I recommend a friend to order a Su7 (the new generation Su7), will I get this points reward?' We've seen many friends asking about this, so we've specifically adjusted the policy. If you are... Recommended by existing car owners, the new generation Su7 has a small order. After its official launch, if you place an order and successfully lock in your purchase, you will also receive a reward of 8,000 points. You can now learn more on the Xiaomi Auto APP. Also, many users who placed orders for the new generation Su7 thought they were ordering the Capri Blue color. Yes, because currently only one color is available on our website. Although we will definitely launch many colors, we only have Capri Blue available at the moment. Later, I would also like to introduce how many colors and interior options the Su7 will have. This way, everyone can know in advance and avoid the situation where, after the launch, you order a color that you don't like. So, this time, we will try to put the display cars in the store as early as possible before the launch event so that everyone can experience it sooner. In other words, our customers who place orders now will have priority in the vehicle ownership process. This doesn't mean you've necessarily chosen Capri Blue. When we launch more colors later, you can prioritize those who place orders and then have them prioritized for production. So, it's not that you can only choose Capri Blue. Please help us understand this. Let me clarify something for you. Previously, there was some misunderstanding that our current pre-orders only allowed you to choose Capri Blue. Okay, let me summarize our current sales policies. First, for those who place orders now, there's a limited-time offer of three years with 0% interest until February 28th. This means you won't have to pay any interest for the three-year loan. Second, starting tonight, at midnight on the 16th, we also have a new seven-year low-interest policy, which will further lower the down payment and monthly payment threshold. If you have cash flow pressure but really want to buy a car, you have another option. You can choose according to your actual situation. We also have limited-time benefits. Including now, we will be offering a limited-time benefit of zero-gravity seats to prospective car owners. Customers who have placed orders but haven't yet received their orders can enjoy the same benefits by paying the remaining 1,000 yuan in advance. The free zero-gravity seats and 7-year low-interest financing will start in a few hours, at midnight on the 16th. Another detail is that existing car owners who recommend Yuqi or the new generation Su7 to friends will also receive a reward of 8,000 points if the order is successfully placed when the car is officially launched. One last small reminder: all current orders can be placed in any color, not just Capri Blue. Just wanted to clarify. Okay, now let's talk about the new generation Su7, which everyone is particularly interested in. We'll also give you a sneak peek. For today's live stream, I've specially invited a senior automotive media professional, Wu Pei, to chat with us. Welcome, Mr. Wu Pei!
Hello, Mr. Lei! Hello, Principal! Hello, Mr. Pei! Hello everyone!
This Wu Pei is the first media person I met after entering the automotive industry. When we were just starting to develop Xiaomi, Mr. Wu Pei gave us a lot of guidance. He even participated in several factory tests and eastern tests. He was one of the earlier media people who knew a lot about the Su-7. Two years ago, when the Su-7 was about to be released, I can't remember if you were optimistic or pessimistic.
Our entire Su-7 has released ten colors so far. Ten colors! This time, with the new generation facelift, we've retained four classic colors. Let's take a look: Brilliant Magenta is still in our selection; many female car owners especially love it. We've also retained Sunset Purple, a color that caused a sensation two years ago, loved by both men and women. We've retained Elegant Gray, another universally appealing color. And then there's Pearl White. Out of the ten colors, we've kept the four most popular ones based on user preferences.
We've also added Obsidian Black from the Ultra line—a pure black that everyone loves. Additionally, we anticipate the current most popular color, 'Tough Pink.' So, you can see we've considered various demographics, from male to female car owners, young to old, and those with financial means. Therefore, we've retained six mature and popular colors. As for new colors, we've mainly introduced three.
The first is Capri Blue, which is particularly popular. The popularity exceeded our expectations. There was a lot of internal debate during the decision-making process. Many people said it wasn't as good as Gulf Blue, and some even said it was the same. I said, 'Are you colorblind?' Hahaha. Later, I found that many people couldn't distinguish between the two blues. Then, two colors were compared online, and wow, everyone noticed the huge difference!
Well, because Gulf Blue is a very special color.
I especially like this color.
I especially like it. Okay, after both colors were released, I saw online voting, and it seems Capri Blue won by a landslide. Shall we vote again? Hahaha. If you like the first-generation Su-7, then Gulf Blue for the first-generation Su-7 is one. And Capri Blue, the advertising color for the second-generation Su-7, is two. Let's see... two. Those who like this one, two. Those who like the previous Gulf Blue, one.
I'll give one. I think I quite like that color.
You like the Gulf Blue? Yes, I'll tell you the story of Gulf Blue later. Uh, actually, I also quite like Gulf Blue. As for Capri Blue... how to say it... Actually, choosing an advertisement is quite difficult for us. We have to choose something unique, something that expresses the car's personality and positioning, something that a group of people like, and ideally, something that no one dislikes. Haha, that's very difficult. Unique, fitting the positioning, and having a group of enthusiasts who like it. Ideally, you don't have to like it, but you shouldn't object. So we often have to repeatedly screen from dozens of colors. In the end, Capri Blue won. It's the color of the ocean.
I see a lot of people here who chose Capri Blue, and a few like me who really like it. We did an online poll, and it was about three times as popular as Gulf Blue. Three times!
Oh, right. I'll tell you about the story of Gulf Blue later. Yes, and these two colors... these two colors are a secret for now. We will definitely reveal them before the launch event so everyone can know them. The remaining two colors are also very beautiful. Look forward to them! They're definitely worth looking forward to. I think they're definitely worth looking forward to.
These two colors will definitely be available before the launch event, right?
Yes, definitely, because we have many netizens... The criticism is that our past work wasn't done well enough. We prioritized secrecy for the launch event, which led to many people making the wrong choices, resulting in a lot of criticism. I saw someone in the comments section saying, 'Hey, let me add a few more words.' I saw photos of the Cabernet Sauvignon online. We've recently started large-scale road testing of many Cabernet Sauvignon vehicles. Why remove the camouflage for road testing? Because sometimes, with camouflage, the wind resistance and other aspects are not accurately measured. So, before the market launch, we often remove the camouflage from some vehicles for testing, just as expected. Yes, because this testing is more comprehensive. When we kept everything completely secret in the early days, even after testing, there were still many problems. Yes, because you cover the outside with many things. For example, I won't go into details, but the testing of the paint and the interior/exterior trim is incomplete. Yes, there's always some loss. Just the paint durability alone... So, we're removing it now mainly to show everyone and to test the accuracy. It's mainly for testing. So, these two points are also... right? Yes, we definitely need to show it off first. Otherwise, when everyone's scrambling to buy it, and people say, 'Hey, your photo isn't accurate,' it's not that. It's that the car paint shows different colors under different sunlight and lighting conditions because our car paint is very complex. For example, when looking at the paint, there's a big difference between morning, evening, and noon. The angle of the sun and the color temperature change will all make it different. We also look at it in a parking garage under different lights. So, it often shows three or four colors, how it looks on the sunny side, how it looks on the shady side, how it looks in sunlight. So, sometimes, it's quite difficult for designers to find the right color. It's really, really hard. So, we currently have nine colors. Two more are still waiting to be revealed in blind boxes later, right? So, whatever you like, we have Brilliant Magenta, Sunset Purple, and Gilded Pink. They're all available this time. Especially for young people, the colors will be very, very rich. And, right? The best colors selected over the past two years, the most suitable colors for Su7 users, were chosen from over 20 colors.
Let me tell you a little detail: nine colors are actually quite rare in the automotive industry. Yes, that's what I was just about to talk about. Generally speaking, it's normal to have five or six colors – black, white, gray, etc. – and then one or two bright colors like red. Making nine colors means you need nine paint cans, more than nine paint cans. And then, the entire sales network needs a lot of SKUs. It's actually very complex. You might think multi-color is simple. It's not just about painting the whole car; there are high-temperature paints and low-temperature paints, and all the matching parts. Developing a car paint takes a long time, and it also needs to undergo durability testing because the car will be used outdoors for over ten years. It needs to maintain its color and meet very high quality requirements. So, making this car paint is very difficult. Like these, right? And the fenders… Including the front grille, the rearview mirrors, and all the body parts, yes, so offering nine colors is quite rare.
You made the decision, right? Yes, yes. Uh, I mainly felt that we needed to make the luxury car experience accessible to customers in the 200,000 to 300,000 yuan range. Luxury cars have all sorts of beautiful paints. Right, I think when you look at a car from a distance, the first thing you see is the paint, and the second is the proportions, the overall shape. So, I think the most important thing is whether we have the confidence and determination to provide a wide variety of colorful paints. Well, five years ago when I was working on cars, I said we should make all sorts of beautiful colors. The designer showed me a survey report saying that almost everyone likes black, white, and gray, especially white. Yes, white holds its value, white is dirt-resistant, so almost half the cars on the street are white. Okay, I went to Tesla's delivery center and saw that 90% were black. Yes, I said that's strange. Didn't you say it was all white? Because Musk really liked that quote Ford made back then... Henry Ford said that cars should have one color because with black as a color, it can be mass-produced at low cost. So their ideas are actually consistent. So Tesla mainly wants to save trouble, so they mainly produce black. And if you buy a black car, and you don't like it, you can get a wrap. But I think the original paint will be much better than a wrap. That's for sure. So after I made this determination, I said that this is definitely not what users need. What users need is that they like good-looking cars. We are determined to make them very good-looking. So at the beginning, we decided to make 10 car paints. In the end, there was one paint that few people chose, so we eliminated it. So at the last minute, it became 9 colors.
So this is another story of persuading the executives overnight, right? Hahaha.
Okay, so after we launched 9 colors, actually after the launch, the sales were far from what we expected. For example, the first generation Su-7's Meteor Blue, that is, baby blue. Yes, I liked it. It was also one of our advertising color options. But when it was launched, not many people chose it. To this day, I still don't understand why that car paint looks so good. Okay, let me tell you, there's a color for jade that's also very beautiful, um, deep sea blue, ah, Klein blue, yes, yes, yes, wow, that car paint is really stunning, it's one of my favorites. I even showed it to the media very carefully. Yes, everyone thought it was amazing, um, but it didn't actually sell well. um, I'm also thinking that maybe before we launched the car, people hadn't actually seen this paint. When you only see pictures, you don't think it's that good. Uh, but, to be honest, producing many colors does affect our production cycle. Uh, and, with so many SKUs, if someone doesn't want it, it becomes a stock car. Uh, it's often very painful. So now, um, sales and operations managers both hope I can reduce the SKUs. So, we had to gradually remove the few colors and configurations we selected. Oh, yes, so often at the beginning, you have the most choices. In the end, we might focus on long-term sales. Fortunately, under these circumstances, we are now also doing customization services. Let me say, if you really want to buy something niche, we can do it for you, it'll just be a little more expensive. Because if you put it next to our mainstream models, it might slow down my whole pace. That's right, because this kind of customization service is generally for luxury cars. If you see this, customizing a car color, only MINI does that, the rest are all very expensive cars. So we also have some customization services, right? Yes, Xiaomi should be the first in China to offer this kind of high-end customization service for this type of car.
Oh, haven't you been to our Xiaomi Auto? Oh, I saw it once, I saw it once. Yes, it's very similar to those high-end Lamborghinis, Lamborghinis, etc. that we've seen before. Mr. Lei, have a drink of water. Let's tell you this story from before.
Okay, you're talking about overseas? Yes, overseas story. I'll hold this. You're talking about overseas? Hehe, this... I'll hold this for you. Before, in Mr. Lei's office, he told me, 'I want to promote a bunch of very bright colors.' At the time, everyone thought black, white, and gray were safe colors, right? These wouldn't go wrong. So... I said, 'Think it over,' and gave him some advice, right? Then, on my way home, I sent Lei Jun another WeChat message. I said, 'I suddenly understand.' Do you know why I said I understood that day? Well, in the vast sea of cars, I saw a yellow Nissan, and that color just stood out in the traffic. I thought to Lei Jun, 'I understand why you chose those few very eye-catching, bright colors.' Actually, after that one time, I felt those colors were really interesting. Maybe before, people were more cautious and didn't dare to try new colors, but this group of Xiaomi users really like these colors. So I think it's not only Lei Jun's choice, but also the choice of many Xiaomi users watching the live stream. These are a group of people with rainbows in their hearts, a particularly sunny group, right? Well said, hahaha. Okay, okay. Oh, you still haven't said why you like Gulf Blue. I like Gulf Blue purely because of the color. I think this is a bit hard to explain. Why do you want me to explain? I just really like this color. Actually, how do I choose Gulf Blue? I remember telling him before, 'Um, this Gulf Blue is exactly 50% blue and 50% green, the critical point between blue and green. This critical point has almost never been used before. The problem is, it's very unique, but it's easy to get color cast when shooting with a phone or camera. So you can hardly capture this color in a photo. When we first started choosing, we had a lot of internal opinions. They said, 'If you choose this color, your advertisements will all be color-distorted.' We had that concern. I told them, 'We need a unique color, something that no one has used before, something that dares to do what no one else dares to do.' So I firmly supported Gulf Blue. The core reason I chose Gulf Blue isn't just because it looks good, it's because it's unique. I heard that Xiaomi's car is highly anticipated. When we debut, it will definitely make a very cool, unique appearance. Wow, so that's the story. So I chose Gulf Blue. Okay, then, as I was joking earlier, people couldn't tell which blue was which blue, saying, 'Why did you bring out Capri Blue again?' or these two colors are very...' The difference is huge. Can we change to another color? I said we just want to create a feeling for users. Su Qing's lucky color is blue. Oh, we have to use different shades of blue. When you get tired of it, we'll change to another color. We'll start with blue so everyone remembers that Su 7's lucky color is blue. Oh, and the color of jade is green. Oh, there are so many stories behind it. So color is very, very important. As for many cars, I think, well, how should I put it, I still hold the same view. I think the first impression of a car is its color, the second is its shape, and then it's all about the details. Okay, well, speaking of this, let's talk about the interior. Yes, I just peeked at this interior. Okay, okay, I can show you. We released this interior. Ah, the interior... many people say it's a bit cramped. Crooked, cramped, cramped. Hahaha. I said, really? How could that be? Isn't this car supposed to be luxurious? Why don't you explain to everyone, is there a light fixture? Everyone thinks, uh, this is like a luxury car. The seams on the seats, the seams, black ones... everyone thinks, oh, isn't this old... Haha, I felt quite uncomfortable after hearing that. I didn't see the light fixtures, but I did see a lot of ambient lighting. I think the overall color... well, everyone here, this picture was probably taken at night, right? And that's how it gives you this feeling. Let me talk about some details of the changes in this interior design. I won't comment on that. First, I think the layout of the center console has changed from a vertical design to a horizontal, symmetrical design. Because of the symmetry, you see, the two cup holders used to be placed front and back, but now they're placed side to side. So, the passenger won't have to worry about which way they're positioned. Haha, yes, you see, the one on the right is yours. Second, these physical buttons have been retained, but moved here. Right? Yes, the physical buttons that used to be here... many people say the physical buttons are gone. Actually, there are still these four horizontally here. And this is... uh, wood trim... wood trim... yes, but pressing that button cancels it out. Why cancel it? Well, mainly because... in the early days when we had... This cup holder is a bit big. Oh, and later, when we were working on the jade cup holder, it was a little small, so we adjusted the size again. Mainly, it's to fit the cup size of most people. For example, someone might go to Starbucks and order a venti cup, right? Yes, right. At that time, we initially made the cup holder a bit too big to fit two venti cups, because few people would use two at the same time. But we found that people were hesitant to drink that much coffee and were buying small cups. So, we learned from that experience and made it a little smaller. Then, there were more complaints, so we changed it again. Anyway, we're no longer constantly adjusting based on user feedback. It's true that working with Xiaomi is a bit about listening to advice. People call it listening to advice. Like our sales policies, many of them were suggested by netizens. But I think the biggest change actually comes from here. Look, Mr. Xiao, look at this side, such a big change, right? Before, we actually put a lot of effort into making it, layer upon layer of different materials. But, you know what, Mr. Lei, when we were researching another car... Users prefer less material and fewer layers; they prefer a simple, leather-like finish. So, I envisioned a style where almost everything is fully covered. However, ordinary consumers might not understand the cost and sophistication of full-coverage. Jade carving uses full-coverage techniques, but this also uses a large area of covering. The Su-7, for example, incorporated many subtle details, but those outside the automotive industry might not appreciate the effort and money invested. People really appreciate the ideal approach – a single, seamless surface. This gives users a more sophisticated feel. Another feature is the ambient lighting. This ambient lighting offers various adjustable colors. Don't worry about the blue; you can adjust it to your preferred color. This particular color gives a floating effect. Previously, the reflected light... I think it's quite similar to the kind of light that luxury brands used to create. The light doesn't go directly into my eyes; it has to go through a slow reflection before returning to my eyes. So it's a kind of soft, subtle light, a very high-quality feel, like when you're decorating a house, it's not like a single light shines directly into your eyes, right? Yeah, that's what I see in this exterior and interior design – it's actually leaning more towards the luxury brand direction to achieve high sales volume. Because I've seen that in recent years, the trend in Chinese new energy vehicle development has changed quite rapidly. Initially, everyone thought, 'I need low drag,' so they started with a minimalist style. And that minimalism resulted in squinting headlights, or a continuous floating screen, no physical buttons, or a very minimalist interior. I think that's one direction, but in the last two years, I've noticed something different. People are starting to pursue other styles. Perhaps the only solution for electric vehicles isn't this style. People also like to bring out a sense of luxury. After all, the Chinese understanding of luxury has been gradually educated by these luxury brands over the past ten or twenty years. So I think things like these lampposts, these large-area decorations, and even the wood grain used here are all probably moving in this direction, right? Yes. And what netizens are concerned about is the color. Last time we talked about the interior, the color was a particular concern. We only showed you one picture, a black one. Then some netizens photoshopped several different colors and wondered, 'Are these really the colors?' They kept asking if we still had the classic Misty Purple, right? And the original reds, that red one was quite aggressive. We want to clarify these things here. To elaborate, we actually have all the colors from the Su-7. Yes, this time, whether it's black, Misty Purple, or Twilight Red, we actually have them all. Of course. There are also some new and slightly different colors. You can look forward to them. Anyway, whether it's the nine exterior colors or the four interior colors, our combinations are still the same. Don't worry. Can we see these actual cars now? Here, can I have this board? Okay. We originally planned to launch them in March or April, maybe at Xiaomi stores. Now I'm asking if we can speed things up so that some stores can have them before the Spring Festival. This way, you can experience them when you visit stores during the Spring Festival. I think you should take a look first, otherwise, when you try to order, it will be like last time, with the cars selling out very quickly, and you might not have a good understanding of the colors. I think you can also go to the store to take a look. I estimate that as soon as they arrive at the store, they should be released on various platforms. Yes, that's right. Okay. Um, this time, the new generation Su-7, we actually introduced several major improvements to everyone during the last live broadcast on the 7th. Um, among them... Uh, firstly, we've made further progress in safety. We'll elaborate on that later, whether it's the application of our high-strength steel or the changes in airbags. Also, another very important upgrade is the improved range, especially the Pro version. Wow, our 902km range is amazing! Let me get that for you. 902km range for the CLTC, right? Yes, the CLTC's range. To be more precise, the Pro version has a 902km CLTC range. Every word from Xiaomi must be very accurate. Let me repeat it for the salesperson: the Pro version has a 902km (CLTC range). That's how it should be said, right? Yes, very accurate. That's quite a high level. Mr. Lei, what exactly are the upgrades? I think that for a car in the 200,000+ RMB price range to have such a range performance is a major improvement in all aspects. First of all, we've upgraded the performance... A more efficient electric drive platform—yes, our first point is the silicon carbide high-voltage platform. And then, including the new electric drive, the new electronic control, and the battery. First of all, the highest voltage of our standard and Pro versions has reached 752 volts, and the Max voltage has been upgraded to 897 volts. And since it's a silicon carbide high-voltage platform across the entire series, its performance will be better and its efficiency higher. So this is a platform with all 800 volts. Let me compare this to the old model. The old Pro version had a 400-volt battery, also a lithium iron phosphate battery. The range wasn't 902; the old model had 830 kilometers, which was quite impressive. The old 830 kilometers was already very strong. The new 902 kilometers, in my mind, must have been a very, very long range. This 800-volt system essentially means the entire battery pack was redesigned and redeveloped. Because we need to give it this voltage... If you connect it to a voltage of 800 volts or higher, then the capacity of each individual cell needs to be improved, and its volumetric efficiency is also improved. In this case, it's essentially like the standard version is a completely redesigned battery pack. Yes, a redesigned battery pack and a redesigned motor. And so, its charging efficiency is greatly improved. But I have a small question. In the past, we usually told everyone in the industry that it was 800 volts. Why do we insist on telling everyone that it's exactly 752, 752, 897? Why do we insist on saying 897 volts? Because we're now against small-print marketing, striving for accuracy in everything we say. You think we've done it? I... I... I can't say whether we've done it or not. I can only say one thing: Lei Jun and Xiao Shuang, you two have had it so tough. So many people are watching Xiaomi closely. Because in the industry, you know, many people used to say 800 volts, but they were actually talking about 500 volts. Yes, generally speaking, when you get to the 600 to 900 volt range... You can call it 800 volts, that's fine. Or you can say it's 340 volts. This is just an industry malpractice. I don't think it's a malpractice. I think the industry is just a matter of convention. There's no single standard. It's just a matter of convention. Some people might call 897 units '900 units,' not '800 units.' 900 volts is less common. We mainly talk about 800 volts. Usually, it's around 600 volts. We can say it's a high-voltage 800-volt system, and that's fine too. Hey, friends in the live stream, can you accept calling 600 volts '800 volts'? It seems like there's quite a difference, right? Actually, everyone used to say it that way. For example, 350 volts, many 400 volts. But everyone used to call it that way. Yeah, today, as soon as I say it, I'm in trouble, hahaha. As soon as I say it, I'm in trouble. Others can say, for example, 1,300 kilometers, only charging once in the middle, just once. I later saw several competitors say that. Oh, when I say it, oh, trouble, hahaha. So now, this... We call it being strict with ourselves. Of course, I think that if we... well, how should I put it... I think we are indeed willing to accept higher standards. Yes, I think we shouldn't joke around or complain. Yes, I think we should indeed oppose bourgeois marketing and let consumers understand every precise detail. So, this time I'm demanding that anything that can be explained in large print be explained in large print. Yes, anything that can be written completely should be written completely, anything that can be written accurately should be written accurately. Don't just say what the industry said in the past. Okay, then we'll have to prepare a lot more. Before, we only needed to prepare 800 volts; now we need to prepare 897 volts and 752 volts. If you think about it, what's called 800 volts in the market might only be 600 volts. Yes, what we're talking about as 400 volts is already close to 500 volts, close to 500 volts. Actually, the difference is almost negligible. That's why our previous generation of 400 volts actually had a faster charging efficiency than many that claimed to be 800 volts. Yes, let's take a look at Max's battery. Yes, Max's battery this time is 897 volts, right? I didn't get it wrong, right? Then, this kind of boosted high-voltage platform brings a major benefit: the charging speed will be faster than before. The Max version can charge for 15 minutes. I remember that number is 670 kilometers, while it was around 510 kilometers before, right? So, there is an improvement. So the Max battery is basically the same as the expected battery, right? Uh, basically aligned, right? Uh, so that's basically what we see about these batteries. Actually, there should be some details such as 4-electric drive, right? So it's not just the high-voltage platform, um, the battery pack, um, but more importantly, our generation's V6S Plus super motor, um, its performance is stronger and its efficiency is higher. Uh, this whole system upgrade maintains a better range and driving experience. It just adds a plus, um, it adds a plus. Uh, let's take a look, um, what has been improved? I think the first one is the 22,000 RPM one, you see? This is the highest speed of 22,000 RPM. Its CLTC overall efficiency has improved by 1.5%. Yes, 1.5% is equivalent to 10-20 kilometers. Yes, the improvement in motor efficiency has significantly improved the range. Also, the power of the standard and Pro versions has increased, right? 15 kW, and the Max version has increased by 13 kW. You see, the specifications are very detailed. Different versions, different voltage platforms, yes, they are written down clearly, just in case everyone is worried. Simply put, this is what everyone really wants. This further improves efficiency, further reduces energy consumption, and also improves performance. Okay, this time, the new generation Su7 has a huge change. Yes, in addition to the motors from United Electric and Huichuan, it also has a self-developed and self-produced motor from Xiaomi. So, it's equivalent to having three sources. So this time, we've also added our own motor. Yes, because our original self-developed and self-produced V8S used in the out was a self-developed and self-produced motor from Xiaomi. Now, it's also... The V6S Plus also has Xiaomi assets, and its performance is exceptionally good. So, the '1234' we're referring to here refers to our own V6S Plus—no, the entire V6S Plus. These three components—two suppliers and our own products—all share these characteristics. Oh, because Xiaomi participated in the R&D. Okay, could you tell us about these four characteristics? First, as Dr. Wang Zhensuo introduced last time, the first point is that Vinus Paas uses segmented magnets, which divides the permanent magnet into multiple segments connected together. This significantly reduces current and eddy current losses. This technological breakthrough can exceed 50% of eddy current losses, thus greatly improving its performance. Second, we've also made extensive optimizations to our power module, reducing parasitic inductance. Furthermore, the deep optimization of the power module has improved the response speed and efficiency of the electronic control. Third, we've optimized the design of the active lubrication circuit and the oil baffle, coupled with precise dynamic adjustment of the oil pump control strategy, reducing its efficiency degradation at low temperatures. Below 1% because this low temperature affects the oil. Finally, regarding the high-strength silicon steel sheets used in our entire application, the maximum speed of the motor has been increased to 22,000 RPM. Um, I don't know if you remember, Xiaomi was probably the first company in China to break the 20,000 RPM barrier with a motor. Yes, because everyone was shocked at the time. At that time, Tesla was working on 18,000 RPM, then 20,000. After Xiaomi, many others reached 21,000, 22,000, etc., and they started appearing one after another, right? So, I'll explain these four points to you. I remember you studied technology, I studied automotive engineering. Did you study engines? Of course I studied engines. You can explain it to someone who studied automotive engineering. But this is a motor. This is something I learned later, right? Later, I learned it later. I can also share what I learned on the spot. Please don't criticize me if I'm wrong. No, no. If there were experts in the live stream, they could directly remind us, 'Hey, Wu Fei made a mistake.' Okay, I guess there are many people watching the live stream right now, so I'll keep an eye on things to see if anyone makes a mistake. I bet someone will say, 'He made a mistake again!' People keep commenting, 'He's got the expected results, no doubt about it!' Thank you, thank you. Let's talk about the first issue: active lubrication. What problems can this lubrication solve? We know that a common problem in motors is that the peak power is low, but the rated power is also low. Especially in motors, when there's a sudden heat buildup, the power output has to be reduced. So, at this point, it needs to solve many problems, namely, dissipating the heat. Therefore, generally, new motors are equipped with fixed-point spraying, etc., to spray the heat source. Of course, this seems to be about the heat issue. Active lubrication also addresses this issue at low temperatures. Based on this, we manage the lubrication of the oil to minimize its impact at low temperatures. The second issue... We see this 22,000 RPM mark. Some netizens have wondered if setting the RPM so high will cause the car to go too fast, and what the consequences might be. Actually, it's not just that. Increasing the RPM means the motor's overall speed, efficiency, and range will be greatly improved. It also allows for many optimizations in transmission design. Thirdly, as we mentioned earlier, this new magnet technology in our new motor, besides reducing copper losses, also optimizes iron losses. This involves using new segmented magnet designs, mainly to reduce eddy currents and other losses. Well, never mind, I won't press you further. I think netizens don't need to know such details. What they need to know is that the Xiaomi V6S Plus's super motor has a 1.5% improvement in overall efficiency. In other words, with the same amount of electricity, it can travel an extra 10 or 20 kilometers, which is remarkable. So, seeing our strong range is not just about silicon carbide or the battery, but also about the optimization of every aspect of the electric drive and control system. Xiaomi has made significant improvements in the three core technologies of electric vehicles. That's why the Pro model can achieve the 902-kilometer range of the CLTC. Okay, okay, I feel a bit of pressure. What's wrong? I'm afraid of making a mistake while talking in the Xiaomi live stream, right? If I make a mistake, Brother Shen, please help me out, right? I'm under a lot of pressure, hahaha. Uh, the motor is relatively complex, and it's not easy to explain it clearly to everyone quickly in the live stream. Yes, we will give you more information later. You can also check out some of our professional technical content. Let me check the ads. I saw a comment. I saw someone say they've already placed an order for this car. The new generation Su7 will be officially launched in April. Uh, if you're interested, you can place a small order in advance. How do you do that? You download the Xiaomi Auto APP, and you can place an order there. You pay a deposit of 1,000 yuan. If you don't like it after the launch event, you can get a refund anytime. Okay, if you lock in your order, the first benefit is priority production scheduling. The second is that we have a special gift for you—a dual-dial smart watch. So, if any viewers in the live stream want to learn more about the new generation Su7, you're welcome to download the Xiaomi Auto APP and place your order directly. Okay, Shuang Ge, please continue. Okay, just a quick commercial break. Uh, recently, I've seen some very observant netizens who have found details about the new generation Su7 in various publicly available online materials. For example, the motor we just mentioned may have multiple suppliers, including Xiaomi Auto and Xiaomi Technology. The second is our vehicle speed, the maximum speed... The power output has increased from 210 to 200240, a significant improvement. The power is also greater than before. Another important point, which many are concerned about, is why the vehicle seems heavier. Well, let me explain. As you've noticed, vehicle weight is crucial for electric vehicles. However, this isn't due to any issues with lightweighting. On the contrary, we've actually made further improvements in lightweighting. The key is the addition of many features. Firstly, in terms of safety, we've significantly increased the use of high-strength materials. We've also made substantial improvements in comfort and handling with the wider rear tires. Let me introduce them to you. Mr. Li, shall we introduce them to you? Firstly, regarding safety, the key improvement we've made this time is the addition of 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel across the entire series. Where does this mainly come from? The 2,200 MPa high-strength steel used in the section from the A-pillar to the C-pillar of this car employs an embedded roll cage design, significantly improving safety. Previously, the Su-7 demonstrated impressive performance in various crash tests and real-world driving. This new generation Su-7 will be even more outstanding. Furthermore, the number of airbags across the entire range has increased to nine, adding two rear side airbags to the original seven. This represents a substantial improvement in both passive and safety features. Additionally, the Pro and Max versions come standard with B-type dual-shock air suspension, and all models feature CDC variable damping shock absorbers, along with standard fixed calipers and a front-narrow, rear-wide design. The 245 front and 265 rear tires provide greater comfort during comfortable driving and a sportier feel during sporty driving. So, our weight reduction isn't due to any 'lightweighting' measures, but rather, we've significantly improved weight reduction. The added materials and components throughout the entire vehicle far exceed these few dozen kilograms. Let me explain a few points. First, the 2,200 MPa is quite high in the industry. Generally, many manufacturers only mention 2,200 MPa, which is already the maximum. Second, the roll cage is embedded here, right? Yes, from the A-pillar to the C-pillar. This is a technology used in racing cars. Racing cars can roll over, like I've experienced some before. If there's a separate roll cage to support the rollover, then the entire car... The strength of the vehicle... well, there's also a special truck, yes, it's mounted under the truck, that's the strength, yes, it relies on that. So inside is hot-formed steel,
Hot-formed steel is stuffed inside, there's a thermal expansion tube inside. And then what we see is... there's one here, that's what my dad sent me the other day. My dad sent me something, he said, look, this is Mr. Lei talking about the wheel loss to save the car thing, and a lot of people are laughing.
Then, when my dad and I tried to explain this issue, I discovered something. I've worked in the automotive industry for so many years, and some things I'm very familiar with in our automotive industry seem to have a huge gap in the public's perception. I found that when you talk about the wheel loss to save the car thing, some netizens, especially some netizens who don't follow cars, seem not to quite understand this thing, right? They really don't understand.
I think at this point I especially want to talk about, right here, a wheel, a rim, if a collision occurs, bang, a small offset collision, if it only hits the left side... The wheel rim, whether on one side or the right, is a huge force-transmitting component. Because it's difficult to retract, the force is transmitted indirectly, potentially damaging the driver's left knee or the passenger's right knee.
So, this technology led to a new invention. In a minor impact, it's fine, but in a major impact, it swings the tire away. Once the tire is swinging away, the force won't be transmitted indirectly through the wheel rim. This technology has been used by high-end brands in the automotive industry for a long time, such as Volvo. However, in the public sphere, people don't seem to understand it very well.
Perhaps older, more affordable cars didn't have this technology. While some high-end car manufacturers have explained these features, I think the key point is that despite our extensive explanations of these technologies in automotive media, consumers haven't grasped them. This means we've been working in vain. That's the point.
Wu Pei, you should support Xiaomi in popularizing science. Such great technology is being heavily criticized online, which I find unbelievable. I think the automotive industry has been around for so many years, and there's still a significant gap between public and professional understanding.
I also think it's possible that some people are just pretending not to understand and criticizing us. I'm not sure, but as an automotive media professional, I want to reiterate this story: this wheel-dropping safety feature has been used in the automotive industry, especially in high-end cars, for decades. The core point is to prevent force from being transmitted through the wheel hub to the point of contact, preserving the knee feel – a very important thing.
I see some minor changes to the brakes too. Yes, there are changes to the brakes this time. All models now have fixed calipers. Previously, the standard and Pro versions didn't have them; they used floating calipers, but now they're standard. And the Max still uses the Brembo system. The Brembo four-piston calipers and brake pads have also been upgraded to low-metallic compound brake pads, specifically the Max version's low-metallic friction pads.
Low-metallic friction pads reduce heat fade, which is important because the Max's dual-motor performance is very strong. Therefore, we upgraded to low-metallic friction pads, resulting in better braking performance across the entire series.
Let me show you a small detail. I should mention this: CDC has an "r" after it, indicating it's a registered trademark. If you're not using Caifu's CDC, you can't call it CDC; you have to use a different name. CDC is their trademark. So, anyone officially calling it CDC is using Caifu's products. And Caifu's biggest characteristic is its high price; it's about twice as expensive as others. This makes its driving feel better.
Yes, this is a variable damping shock absorber. When it needs to be stiff, it can increase the damping force, which is helpful when encountering unpaved roads. When driving on a short-wave surface, it releases its damping, making it very low-damped, or what we commonly call a softer state. So, when you see the official name "CDC" (Chemical Damping Control), you know it uses a high-quality CDC. If it were something else, it might have to be called something else.
So, in the previous generation, air springs with CDC were only available on the Max version. Now, the Pro version also comes standard. And the air springs have been upgraded from single-shock to double-shock. So, the advantage is that both height and stiffness are adjustable. You can adjust the k-value under different conditions, making the range of comfort and handling much wider. Previously, when you pressed a certain point, the stiffness would be fixed. Now, you can adjust the comfort and handling details at different positions.
So, the new generation Su-7 has significantly improved safety. Like the 2,200 MPa high-strength steel, like the wide rear tires across the entire range, like the fixed calipers across the entire range, like the CDC... The Pro and Max versions come standard with CDC and dual air springs, so the overall driving experience is greatly improved. Also, there's the tire I just saw—the rear wide tire, 265—that's standard across the entire range.
Okay, Wu Pei, you know so much about the new generation Su7. What do you think? Can you analyze it for the netizens?
I'm afraid I'll sound a bit paternalistic if I talk too much. Let me tell you my initial impression of the Su7. I was quite impressed after seeing it. And I saw the team—many of whom I know—so I felt they put a lot of thought into the product. You know, I've been doing product consulting for years. I think I'll look at the Su7 from three angles.
First, I think the Su7's positioning is very different. It offers a very unique perspective compared to many other cars we've made before. Not every car company dares to make a car that transcends its class; they can't make that decision. But the Su7 is a car built for the owner. When someone wants more than just a few things, they end up making a mediocre car. So the first key to the Su7's success is that we clearly stated we wanted to make a new generation of driver's cars, transcending its class, designed for the owner, and also considering the family. First and foremost, it's about the owner.
So, are we aiming for personal enjoyment or family enjoyment? That's actually two different things; their positioning is very different. Back then, Lei Jun, like Li Auto, was a family car. Like us, when we were discussing this five years ago, Li Xiang was very successful. I admire Li Xiang himself. I said we were on opposite sides. They were making large family SUVs, while we were making young, personal, passionate driver's cars. And in the process, we boldly removed unnecessary elements one by one. Let him return to basics and find the clearest positioning.
I remember Lei Jun gave me a lesson back then. He said sharpness. When you remove what you don't want, sharpness comes out. I mainly focus on the ultimate. The ultimate means that within your core group, you need to be the best, to make your characteristics very rich. Actually, the second point I want to make is that after we have a very precise positioning, the second thing is to pursue the ultimate.
For example, let me give you an example. The Su-7 had three versions, and the chassis had several different tunings. But these tunings were done completely as if it were a new car. For example, you can see that the Royal version was tuned by a special team, and the Air-King CDC version was tuned by another team. So the feeling of the two cars is very different. Many car companies don't do these things so meticulously. They tend to slightly relax the ultimate aspect.
I think there is a third point. The Su-7 gave me an inspiration, which is that we must trust the users. We need to trust that these users are a group of people who truly understand products and can create excellent ones. That's why I highly recommend everyone take a test drive. Once you drive it, you'll immediately experience whether the car is good or not. Even if you don't know much about cars, as long as you can drive, you're good.
Back in the era of gasoline cars, we had a feeling that to truly understand a car, you needed a lot of knowledge. Now, with electric cars, you'll find that electric car users generally have very high levels of education, strong learning abilities, and their own judgment. So, when it comes to this product, you don't need to listen to too much advice; you can make your own judgment just by driving it. I think one very important thing about the Su7 is that everyone—Lei Jun, the team, Xiaomi—trusts the users, and together with the users, we've made the Su7 what it is today.
Throughout the R&D process, we invited Wu Pei and many expert consultants, and listened to a lot of user feedback. That's why this car is so good. Including my internal requirements... Only those who understand and love cars can make good cars. We have so many racing drivers internally, everyone is passionate about this, which gives us the opportunity to truly do well.
So, let's get back to the point about drivers. There was a saying before that Xiaomi is a group of people who are overly obsessed with driving and tuned this car into a sports car. I don't think so. From the beginning, everyone wanted this car to be a car that pleases themselves. It's just that in the process, there were drivers, some people who drive particularly well, who participated. Because you are a driver, you know where the limits are. So when you push that limit, and then return to the user's point, slowly pulling back, you know where the user's balance is. So I think these are some very important things in the Su7 process. I think the Xiaomi team put a lot of thought and attention to detail into the Su7.
Okay, that's about it for this part. But, before I move on to the next section, I have one last thing to say. I want to remind everyone that the new generation Su7... it will officially launch in April. There are still a few months to go. To avoid any flaws or misunderstandings, all information is subject to the announcements, press conferences, and official website information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. To avoid any slips of the tongue by Xiao Shuang and me that might mislead everyone, I'm making this special statement again.
Haha, what are you laughing at? This is a very serious matter for us. I really feel that we've become very cautious now. This part is indeed the most important part of our draft. Wow, this is what we strongly requested me to read again. Or should I read it again? It is that all information is subject to the announcements, press conference information, and official website information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. So, before purchasing, please check the press conference and our official website information, okay? Thank you for your support.
Now, because Wu Pei is very knowledgeable about the situation of various companies in assisted driving, we plan to invite Wu Pei to talk with Dr. Chen Guang about Xiaomi's assisted driving. Okay, now please welcome Dr. Chen Guang. Okay, come on. Hey, Mr. Lei, come on, sit down. I'll sit here. Okay, come on, you sit in the middle. Yes, okay. The one with the higher education sits in the middle. Yes, okay. Next, we'd like to invite Dr. Wu Pei and Dr. Chen Guang to chat. Let's welcome Dr. Chen Guang first, okay? Mr. Lei, you should introduce Dr. Chen Guang, right?
Okay, Dr. Chen Guang is the head of end-to-end technology in our Xiaomi autonomous driving team. He pursued his PhD overseas in 2009, specializing in computer vision and machine learning. After graduating in 2014, he worked at Stanford's International Research Institute and at Baidu on AI and intelligent driving-related work. He returned to China around 2020 and participated in the domestic intelligent driving R&D work. Currently, he is responsible for end-to-end assisted driving at Xiaomi Auto.
Besides Dr. Chen Guang, our entire autonomous driving team is full of hidden talents. We also attach great importance to team building and talent investment in this field. We welcome all experts in this field to submit their resumes to us. Today, our team has more than 1,800 people. With over 100 PhDs and primarily based in three R&D centers in Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan, our overall talent pool is very strong. It's precisely because of this investment that our driver assistance system has undergone four generations of upgrades in just one year and nine months since its introduction. Yes, four generations!
This time, the new generation Su-7 features a full suite of driver assistance hardware across the entire range. This is what our competitors' Max and Ultra versions are equipped with—yes, this is a full suite across the entire range. All models come standard with Aurora Radar, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and 700 TOPS of driver assistance computing power. With such comprehensive hardware, we have ample room for future software upgrades. Moreover, this system is integrated across the entire Su-7 and Yu-7 series. This allows for better efficiency and depth in our upgrades and development. This is a demonstration of our focus; today, we have a complete system for the Su-7 and Yu-7, making our overall R&D efficiency higher and our investment in this system greater.
Next, we'll invite Dr. Chen Guang to introduce the HAD Enhanced Edition we upgraded some time ago. How effective is it?
Okay, yes, as Mr. Lei just mentioned, in the new generation of HAD, we've maximized the hardware to better provide users with safety assurance. The multi-sensor feature enhances the vehicle's perception capabilities in complex road conditions. For example, in excessively bright or dark environments, LiDAR performs better, better detecting and identifying obstacles. In contrast, in heavy rain or fog, LiDAR and cameras experience varying degrees of interference. 4D millimeter-wave radar, however, functions more stably. We also remind everyone that it's not recommended to use driver assistance functions in extreme weather.
So, I see a few key improvements. First, the chip's computing power has increased from dual Orinx508TOPS to 700. And 4D millimeter-wave radar is now standard across the board. That's roughly the hardware configuration for perception. Are there any other features?
