You had lunch, and I've always wondered why they put our session in the afternoon. Because science has clearly shown after a meal, all the oxygen leaves the brain. And you guys go and take a nap. It's sort of interesting. Some of you have come back, by the way. Listening to this morning is really interesting. Some of you have been to Malawi, right? Yes. And I think there's another way after this you'll be going to Malawi as well. Okay, you might have missed something. Let me tell you a story because at the very beginning when we created this so-called Vitameal project to support all the kids that are having really good food, the phrase 'nourish the children' was deliberately chosen. You notice we never say 'feed the children.' It's always 'nourish.' And that's what makes our program very different from all the federal programs, WHO programs, and all that. All the programs around has always been let's feed them wheat. Let's feed them corn. Let's feed them rice. There's no nourishment. It's all carbs. Our Vitameal was designed to be a complete meal. It was designed in collaboration with a WHO pediatrician at UC Davis. So, when we talked about what we do in Nu Skin, even though it's 5% of what we do or whatever it is, it's 95% of who we are. That's really true. Because we always say we're innovative, right? We don't just stop innovating just because we want to create a meal. That was an innovative product. That's the difference perhaps than anything else. The word innovation, for us anyway, it extends and it permeates everything that we do. Right. So, today I'm going to take you through a little bit of a journey, if you will, the past, the present, and the future. And because Yoko showed you a whole list, a scrolling list of products we have produced and developed over the years, right? To the extent that some of you may feel there's so many products, why do we actually are able to consume or actually be able to understand all those products? So, I'll give you an umbrella because fundamentally what we are, when you look at all the things that we do, it's a... Yeah, this comes up. We're an anti-aging company. No more, no less. Whatever that we do, that's the umbrella that we exist under. Guys, this is anti-aging. There's nothing to be confused about. You don't need to ruminate. When we bring on a new product, it will... and in the future, too, we'll always be Nu Skin as an anti-aging company. You may not like it sometimes, some of you, if you're young, for example. But just tweak the word and you can talk about youth preservation. It's the same thing. Our products are applicable at any age group. All right. Anti-aging is not just for old people. It's for everybody. But nonetheless, that's the word that we use and that's the word we'll always be. This is the umbrella that we have. Yoko has given you a little bit of the history behind what we did. So, you know, when I first came into the world of Nu Skin back in 1998, what did I see? It was like a new distributor. I knew nothing about Nu Skin, right? After the acquisition of Pharmanex, what did I see? There was only one tagline. There was only one concept. It's always about all of the good and none of the bad. They applied to the products and applied to everything. It's about even back then in 1984, more than 40 years ago, it was about anti-aging. Right. So, as we progressed in our science and innovation or whatever that we have been doing in Nu Skin product development, it has always been that. The next one, Pharmanex came in. What did we do? We just added more scientific evidence to make and buttress the initial concept of all of good and none of the bad, right? We bring out the BioPhotonic Scanner, and this is an interesting one. What did we say? We said it measures antioxidant. I'm going to take you through that, that in fact what we have done through the advent of AI and through the 20 years that we have been gathering data on the scanner, we have made that into a translator. It's no more just an antioxidant scanner. And that's why in fact it's probably one of the reasons why I'm still back here is because it's so exciting that we are able to transform that particular device into something even deeper and more profound. So, you just go through the whole thing. That's what we have. They can always be accommodated under the anti-aging umbrella, no doubt about that. So, you'll go and talk about healthy aging in general, right? I just want to show you schematically, as you go through and a supplement, it's yogurt is absolutely right. But, the science tells us that this supplement that you're moving people over using a prism scale over to a healthier level. Right? And to give you a hint, in a way, and once again, it's because of the prism, right? That is beginning to show us that the scale that we have created is not sufficient to cover the power of the observation that we get out of prism. There is another level that all of us can reach for that will bring us even healthier aging. That's the key. By the way, when I go back to the original scanner, one of the biggest criticisms that we ever received from our competitors, frankly, is, 'Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a little scanner thing. Oh, that's it. Nu Skin made it because they wanted to make LifePak look good.' Okay? It's a LifePak detector, in a way. You know, they have a little leprechaun sitting inside staring through their probe. And when you see a competitive person coming through, they turn the scanner number down. You know, I mean, so many words or in some other variation of that thing. No. We had LifePak, guys. I mean, historically, we had LifePak before we had a scanner. Frankly, when the company wanted to go and commercialize the scanner, I was sweating bullets that we can actually use that to show that LifePak is a very meaningful supplement. The adverse supporter, however, the concept. You know, none of the guys in the room was sweating bullets. So, you're... I saw this automatically. No. Now, what we've done since for the last 20 years, we have actually flipped it now. Prism helped to improve LifePak. And all of you, I bet you, you have missed the most important improvement. And the product in a way, we don't even spend the time to talk about it. That LifePak that Yoko showed a couple of the slides, that is the new LifePak. That new LifePak was developed with the help of the prism. We flipped it because of the data that we have. All right. So, and that's what Yoko showed us, the scale is going to be a little bit larger. This book was the bane of my existence. Because one day, Ryan walked into the office and said, 'Joe, you got to go write a book.' I said, 'You go write a book.' He said, 'What do you want me to do?' Oh, we need to write... I just write somewhere. We have so much science and we're just launching a new product and so on. You know, the aging science has improved and progressed to another level. Why don't you go write another book?' The first book I finally read it, it was actually quite interesting. So, he said, 'What?' I said, 'Really? Does that mean I can't go fishing?' He said, 'Oh, well, whatever.' So, you know, it took me frankly, it didn't take me... I did not accept that, you know, right then and immediately. It took me some time, a few months to think, 'Really I have to write?' Gosh, yeah. He would kill me. So, anyway. So, we started on it. I said, 'But do you get this book done?' And literally I said, 'Well, if there is really... There is a need, I don't disagree with that. We have launched a few products.' Okay? And I said, 'It might also be good to include the science behind those products, too.' And that's why I added a few chapters to the previous edition and make it the new edition. But it's important. Chapter 10 is showing here and it's the last chapter and Ryan sort of alluded to that in the morning is because it describes all the devices that we have introduced in the world of Nu Skin. And Prism had a prominent place in that chapter because it explains how it became a translator rather than just an antioxidant scanner. It's transformative, guys. Okay? It's not an incremental improvement to the scanner. Whether you like it or not, okay? Whether you like... some of you say, 'I don't know how to incorporate my business.' Fine. It's fine. But fundamentally, this has changed the face of aging. And you've seen all the data that Yoko showed you, right? It's a huge market opportunity. We got to find a way to incorporate this because if you truly think you're a force for good and I'll switch over to that side and you don't use the Prism, I think you may have a harder time. This is introducing a new type of science which I will call, and this time, behavioral nutrition. You can see the science. You can do the science now. It's not just me standing up there trying to explain all the science to you. It's rather arcane. Now you have in your hands a device, a precision device if you will, that can actually demonstrate making the invisible visible. It's a category creator. And you're going to hear a lot, right, from everywhere. Oh, we're going to measure all kinds of biomarkers from the blood and we are going to do that and we will tell you how healthy you are or how unhealthy you are and so on. I don't think I want to get into that race. Because it would be a hamster in a wheel. Because there's so many biomarkers in the blood. Plus really, seriously, Nu Skin is going to get each and every one of you go around poking people on their arms or whatever and getting the blood? Really? You guys don't even read the manual instruction on the prism. And I'm going to get all of you to go poke people? No. Because those are the biomarkers, right? But the problem is when you get into that arms race, you'll never win. You just keep on going. But with prism, it's non-invasive, 15 seconds, you get a real-time reading on how you age or how you are nutritionally, the status of your nutritional health. It's a precision device. Right? I want you to remember that. When we launched the prism, I know you guys are going to come and whine about the variability, call it. Because when it went out, I knew, or we scientists knew, there's something in there with the Prism Light technology that we are picking up. But we don't know what it is, and all of you will perceive it as noise. Okay? And you're going to say, 'Gee, something like 350, something like 400. What's wrong with your Prism device?' No, there's nothing wrong with the Prism device. It's everything that's... You are wrong. [laughter] Because, you know, I can do it... We are wrong because we've never been able to articulate that noise is actually ET trying to call home. And we are just at that level, if you will, that we are able to decipher what that noise is, and I'll go into that in a minute. All right? So, that's why we have Prism. And so, the global scan, as you can see, right, we are all moving towards the left. Not good. You should be all towards the right. So, globally, it's... Once again, this is just to support what Yoko is saying. There's a huge opportunity for all of you because there's a huge customer... Everybody needs an improvement in their nutritional status. And Yoko has shown you this. I've done this. I grouped them into two groups. One is the fact that if you do more of those things on the left, you're going to improve your nutritional health. And that's what really... This is my first intro now. He said, 'Never use the word antioxidant. And never use the word carotenoid.' Every one of you. I'm so impressed all of you guys can actually pronounce carotenoid. So, and it just took me a few years to learn how to pronounce that word. So, you know, it's a nutritional monitor. And therefore, when you do more of the things on the left, that become... your nutritional status goes up. But, on the other side, you need to do less. BMI always know is something to weight management and so on. So, with that one, the lower your BMI, the better your score. So, that's how you should look at it. So, what do you see overall when you look at those things? The many of those things are lifestyle factors. Right? These are external factors affecting your body. And it's changing something. And I want to take you to the future, because that is a great indicator of certain things that are happening. And present is such an exciting tool that even universities, you know, we have dropped some names with you previously. John Tong from China, Young Young Sai from Korea, and so on. Well, there's a little university up the road in Palo Alto. Right? And we'll name what it is, because they're not as good as the other one on the East Coast, but nonetheless, we had a collaboration going with them. And this is what it showed. This is interesting. It's relating to what Joe Boy has alluded to. Health Span. Really, guys, Health Span is about quality of life. Nothing more, nothing less. It is what it is. Right? Those 10 years that Yoko showed you, that is a quality of life. That's what we're really interested in. It's not how you live longer, it's how you can live younger, longer. Just one word makes all the difference. So, we did this study and we said, 'Look guys, standard, you know, you guys are... There is a standard? Okay, whatever. You guys are so good. Dr. Chen, Dr. Annie Chen, no relationship, by the way. And why don't you go and take our prism and do a study, you know, among people, standard, obviously, and at the same time, give us some skin tissue and blood.' Doctors can do that, by the way, in case you don't know. So, and skin doctors are particularly fascinated by facial features. They really take biopsies of skin without telling you. So, anyway, when we got the samples, we sent it to a gene lab that we have been collaborating with and asked them to say, 'Okay, you know, show me what are the genetic changes you are able to see in all these samples.' And all these samples, which you might call it samples that we sent, they are blinded. So, the genetics lab, they don't know where the samples are coming from and so on. And they show us really interesting data. This is where ageLOC, that all of you are familiar with, right? The genetic sources of aging and so on, actually came into play and opened our eyes and gave us a really incredible insight. And that is there are epigenetic changes going on. Epi is nothing but a Greek word that says things on the surface of the gene, which are all on the DNA string. Okay? And those things you can change. When you go and have an analysis by Ancestry and me or 23andMe, this genetic test, they're looking for genetic physical defects. Those things are immutable. You have it. You have it. There's nothing you can do. There's nothing in the world that can change it except one, to put in a new gene. That's a gene therapy or whatever. Okay? But active genetic and what we epigenetic changes are very much controlled by the environment. Like lifestyle factors. And what they are able to show, the higher your prism score, in other words, your nutritional health score, you are gaining four more years of biological... you're younger in terms of your... I consider it as your biological aging. Every single tissue, there are what, more than 11 tissues here? And all those tissues age. I tend to put brain fairly high because that's the first thing that tends to go with aging and so on. So, what have we done? Another translation, right? So, what the prism is telling me in 15 seconds what your biological age is. I separated or the prism device separated biological aging from chronological aging. If you're 70 years old, you don't need to be 70. You can be at least 65 years younger in terms of some of the tissues. You see, that's the transformation, guys. That's what you're looking at it. With the prism. Look at it. It's an incredible tool, a non-invasive tool that all of you have in your hands and you are able to explain and describe what's happening to an individual. So, on the average, if I had to get all those numbers together, it's about 4 years. That's pretty significant. And Yoko has already shown you the number one thing that can actually improve the prism score very often would be supplementation. There you go. AgeLOC. We have a device, antioxidant. Now we have prism. Boom, boom. There's a boom boom cha. Okay. That's right. And you have a transformation to nutritional health and we did one while we launched the prism to healthy aging. Dissecting that. Everybody talks about biological age, but nobody has been able to show that in a visible manner. You have. And these are just some of the universities that we are collaborating with and there's more data to come. And the reason why these data are becoming more and more meaningful is because we have the original scanner that we had for 20 years. We have a huge database. No other company. They can keep on saying, 'Oh yeah, we're measuring antioxidants.' But they can't translate because they don't have the database. That's proprietary. That's why Joe Chang is getting excited, too. Because, you know, this is where the AI, if you don't know, AI doesn't operate if you don't have data. Okay, I'll come back to variability a little bit. The prism is not a Labubu. Many of my Asian friends will know what they are, but I think the rest of you don't know what a Pop Mart is. Right? You go buy that thing and you don't know, you open the box and you get whatever color and then you hang it on your backpack, right? It's a fashion statement. You shouldn't be doing that with the prism. I've seen some of the variations that are coming back. Yes. Yes. There is some variation that I will share with you. Under controlled scientific environment, I'm able to show that this variation is fairly tight. But, if you abuse the prism, it's not going to behave. I've seen Ryan pulling the prism out of his pocket and immediately put it on his left hand and start sort of scanning. Well, you can't tell the CEO don't do that. [laughter] You know, you're setting a bad example. So, anyway, the point is that when we launched it, you had some instructions given to you. Right? But, as soon you got so excited because it looked so good, as soon as the manual, the little thing that falls out from the package, you threw it away, didn't you? Yeah. None of you ever read the TV... the manual that came with it. I never did. I bet you you never did with the prism, too. And then you whine about the variation. So, all things considered, however, I'm just going to set up the time to really tell you that precision... every single measuring device all the way back to the blood pressure cuff there is variation. 7% with the blood pressure. 10 or... ring... You like wear that thing when you put it into your finger and you throw your wedding ring away? And the one that light up underneath it you just look at it. Yeah, that has up to 40% variation. Go complain to Oura manufacturer. You never did? You just say, 'Oh, it's okay.' So, ours under controlled environment is about 5 to 8%. All right? And I'm here beginning to understand, thanks to all of you actually, that when you send in the data with the prism and so on, we plotted it. Okay? And this is what we have. When you are below 500, you're tightly aggregated together. This is what we call science fascinating. You can drop it off and say... we did a regression analysis during your cocktail party that you go to and say this deal immediately understand what you're talking about. So, they're very, very tight together. The problem is as you score higher, there's a more scatter of that number. And that is what affecting our algorithm. You see that fancy equation at the top there? That's the algorithm equation that we use to drive the whole AI in our prism calculation to finally generate a score or a value for you. Okay? We are adjusting that. We're now beginning to realize, wow, when you hit a certain high number and also when you are from a certain region of the world, that equation has to be adjusted. And that's what we're doing. The first step that you're going to get is the higher thing, the highest score that you'll come into you. Well, I should tell you it's the platinum region. Okay? That's going to be launched very shortly. And that will bring up to about 1,200. And then there will be following on once we finish completely the analysis in each region, we can also adjust the equation. [clears throat] So, that's why we are adjusting that. All right. I think I'll end this on this noise thing that I first started off with. Think about your radio. All right? I think I hope my audience at the back will be helping me out on this one. Okay, I'm asking them to tune to a particular station here in Johannesburg. And it's a station that all of you ought to do. Understand? Can you play the first station? To what do we owe this great honor we serve table charts the size of the same upon many ways? Hm? What's that? You got it, right? English. Each and every one of you I think will understand what it is. Can you give me the second station? [music] It's an African... It's tribal language. None of us will understand that. I'll give you one more. Sort of based on the Western language, right? Give me the third station. But please, don't get too excited. That's African. We can't say no my people because it was based originally on the Dutch language, but none of us can understand that, too. Three languages almost saying the same thing, but only one. And that's what the prism is when I bring it in. It's a fact that the noise is actually a language. And the language is related to some really exciting new molecules that we or substances that we are picking up on the body that's indicative of another aspect of healthy aging. So, watch this space for the next time. Maybe we're able to tell you what we are measuring in addition to the carotenoid. Okay. So, I'll just give you another analogy here. So, English prism, everybody understands. Every time you look at prisma, maybe I can figure out, but definitely Zulu you would not be able to understand that word because that also means prism, but nonetheless, all these drives in... I would consider the bottom two to be the type of noise that we have to decipher and convert them to a language. And I think that's pretty exciting. It's not noise. It's information. It's just that we don't have the ability right now to do it. So, what does that tell you? That's the future, if you will, of the prism technology and the platform is wide. It's profoundly indicative and predictive as we go forward. Right. And nobody has that. What you have in here...
