Lisa Su 2:00 ↗
Yeah. So, first of all, it's always great to be in Taiwan. Such a wonderful time to meet customers and partners. And yes, we made two big announcements today. One is a significant investment in the Taiwan ecosystem and supply chain, but AI infrastructure is requiring so much investment from them because we have to come together as an ecosystem to make that happen. We have great partners in Taiwan. We are ramping up our capacity like crazy. So across silicon and packaging, advanced packaging, substrates, rack scale systems, all of these areas. So very excited to be here and interact with a lot of our partners and very happy to be able to announce our investment.
I would say MI45 is going to be extremely important. I think people are really excited to have the next generation of AI technology and to accomplish Helios requires a lot of partnership from the entire Taiwan ecosystem. So very happy with how it's going. We're on track to launch in the second half of this year and there's very significant customer demand. So people are very excited for the Helios system.
Interviewer 3:34 ↗
So are you considering Intel or Samsung as an alternative company to buy your supply chain?
Lisa Su 3:41 ↗
Well, TSMC is an incredible partner and I have to say that we have had such a close partnership. The other thing we talked about is we're the first HPC customer in TSMC's 2nm technology. So we just started a production ramp of Venice, our new EPYC CPU. And we're always looking at how to have the broadest supply chain, but I have to say that TSMC has been an incredible partner for us.
Interviewer 4:13 ↗
Could you share why investment in Taiwan's supply chain 10 billion at this time?
Lisa Su 4:21 ↗
This is the perfect time because you look at the demand for AI right now. I think the demand is far exceeding any of our expectations. We are seeing a significant adoption including increase of inference, increase of use of agentic AI, and we need more CPUs and we need more GPUs. And as a result, we're ramping up capacity for the most advanced technology. So this is the right time for us to invest significantly in the Taiwan ecosystem and we're very proud to be able to do that.
Interviewer 4:57 ↗
We hear you won't be attending Computex.
Lisa Su 5:01 ↗
I'm so sad I won't be attending Computex this time. It's just the timing didn't quite work out. But I love coming to Taiwan. I think Computex is fantastic and I hope I can make it next year.
Interviewer 5:12 ↗
Can you talk about where are you meeting tonight with Taiwanese partners?
Lisa Su 5:16 ↗
Yes, we have all of our top partners and customers and suppliers here with us. This is my chance to say a big thank you on behalf of all of AMD. We could not possibly grow and be successful with our products without the entire Taiwan ecosystem here with us. So it's really, I'm looking forward to thanking all of my partners.
Interviewer 5:40 ↗
Will you meet C.C.?
Lisa Su 5:42 ↗
I'm sorry.
Interviewer 5:43 ↗
Will you meet C.C. Wei?
Lisa Su 5:45 ↗
Oh, I met him yesterday already. No, look, as I said, TSMC is a great partner for us and I very much appreciate C.C.'s personal support for AMD.
