Good morning, media colleagues. Today, we, the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, have gathered with friends from monetary and fiscal authorities, as well as the government, to evaluate economic developments and coordinate how fiscal and monetary policies can mutually support each other for better economic growth. And alhamdulillah, today's coordination has resulted in several agreements that will be conveyed by each party. To that end, I invite the Governor of Bank Indonesia.
Thank you. Respected Pak Dasko, Pak Minister of Finance, Pak Haika, and Pakrek. Dear and proud media colleagues. We emphasize that fiscal and monetary coordination has been very, very close in maintaining economic stability and driving economic growth. The strengthening of this fiscal-monetary coordination continues, and currently, the focus is on ensuring fiscal and monetary policies are in sync, mutually supporting and reinforcing each other within their respective authorities to jointly strengthen efforts to stabilize the rupiah exchange rate. There are two key points related to strengthening this coordination to bolster rupiah stability. First, increasing the attractiveness or yield so that portfolio inflows return. With rising foreign interest rates, there has been outflow in stocks and government bonds, and also a small amount in SRPI. Therefore, fiscal and monetary authorities agree to jointly increase yield attractiveness to bring back large inflows and support rupiah stability. That's point one. Point two is jointly ensuring sufficient liquidity in the money and banking markets through government cash management, which remains at Bank Indonesia, but with an increase in the remuneration or interest paid by BI to the government. Thus, monetary operations continue to support rupiah stability, while fiscal operations also provide support. These are the two things we are doing. We agree to continue this, strengthening the already strong fiscal-monetary coordination, which will now be further reinforced and continuously strengthened to mutually support and reinforce each other in driving economic growth and macroeconomic stability according to the current dynamics, with the confidence that our economic fundamentals are strong. Thank you, Pak Minister. Please.
