From Lessons in Leadership: Vanessa Broadhurst and Patricia Costello · · Steve Adubato
“We run a series of courses for young lawyers, and any lawyer is welcome to join in. And a lot of senior lawyers have joined in and learned a lot from the courses. For the young lawyers, we do things like, what is the business of law? How do you find a mentor? How do you stretch yourself? Are you comfortable stretching yourself? How to get comfortable stretching yourself? Are you in the right practice group? Do you wanna split between two practice groups? We have a lot. Things like that. We try and nurture them.”
On , Patrick Costello, Vice President & Controller at CSG SYSTEMS INTL INC, spoke about leadership development during Lessons in Leadership: Vanessa Broadhurst and Patricia Costello on Steve Adubato.
Patrick Costello, principal of Evolve MGA, discussed the company's approach to cyber insurance in a November 2025 interview. He described the MGA model as suited for cyber insurance due to its ability to specialize in coverage and streamline the quote-to-bind process. Costello stated that Evolve's underwriting philosophy avoids overly technical cybersecurity questions, instead relying on industry class, revenue, and internal data, while also considering factors such as IT security investment and compliance with industry standards. He noted that the company's cyber policy is designed to respond as primary coverage to avoid confusion for the insured. In a separate appearance from March 2024, Costello, identified as a TD, addressed the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. He attributed the situation to what he described as "man-made starvation caused by the deliberate actions of the Israeli government." Costello stated that his objective at an upcoming European Council meeting was to secure conclusions calling for an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the supply of food, medicine, and electricity to Palestinians in Gaza, as well as a two-state solution. He noted that the European Union acts unilaterally on common foreign and security policy and that a small number of countries could block conclusions.
