Steve Wozniak, cofounder of Apple, has made several public appearances in recent months. In August 2026, he participated in a panel at the Vintage Computer Festival West, where he presented a replica of the Apple 1 to educator Liza Loop, repeating a gesture from 50 years earlier when the original Apple 1 was given to her. During the event, Wozniak discussed the early history of Apple, including Paul Terrell's role in issuing the company's first purchase order, and noted that he had approached the Smithsonian about acquiring an Apple 1 but declined their offer because they would not guarantee it would be displayed publicly or toured internationally. In a separate interview, Wozniak reflected on Apple's early philosophy of making products users could own and program, contrasting that era with the later rise of the internet. He also mentioned his involvement as a cofounder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, an organization that advocates for privacy and civil liberties in digital contexts, and discussed his engineering background, including designing computer logic on paper and his work at Hewlett-Packard before starting Apple with Steve Jobs.

“That was cool. When we started Apple for 20 years, it was make good products, people get them, program them, run programs they can get on them. And it was years, you owned it, and nobody there was no internet yet. Then came the internet. And that was the tragedy of all time.”

“Steve Jobs didn't know a thing about computer hardware software or actual designing and he didn't really um and the Apple 2 had totally come from engineering I did not sit with the Apple 2 my process was what I had learned from those early mini computer designs... Mine was look at the chips. Where do they lead you to the simplest saving parts solution for an architecture? So, it was more bottom up.”

“Paul Terrell had the belief that this was not just a little one thing going on. This was going to be a future, a future for the world. Small lowcost computers. And he and he said ours was the best. And so he worked out a deal with Steve Jobs to we would supply 100 computers at $500 each. That's $50,000. May not sound like that much today, but that was twice my salary at Hila Packer. Scary when you don't have any mone”

“Entrepreneurships are the most important thing in the world because entrepreneurships often come up with a new industry that doesn't just take over for an old industry. It's like new things that didn't exist. It's new generated wealth. I think it's really the most important part.”

“The Apple 2 was the only computer that made money. The only product made money for Apple for the first 10 years of the company got bigger and bigger and went public and we got bigger and bigger and the Fortune 100 level moved up and up. One product did it all really. That was the start of Apple business side of things.”

“Vera opens a brand new 200 billion TAM for NVIDIA, a market we have never addressed before, and every major hyperscaler is partnering with us to get it deployed.”
