Pier Silvio Berlusconi. [applause]
Good evening. Good evening everyone. As you may have noticed, this year, especially in the last few months, we've been quite busy — we've done truly a lot. One point: 2025 has been an extraordinary year for MFE.
Last year I told you 2024 was exceptional. This year is an extraordinary year. Today we are no longer what we were before. Today we are something else entirely.
We managed, with 7 years of work, of determination — allow me to say it — of courage, to give our group a new dimension. Today we are truly a multinational. More than that, I'm pleased to emphasize that we are the only Italian multinational in the media sector, and obviously this is an important fact.
I'll go fast. First, today three very simple, very straightforward strategic lines — the ones we've had for several years, which is a sign of consistency, not of lack of flexibility: the product, the development of a cross-media system, and international growth.
Let's start from the center of our work. Let's start with the first slide. Thank you. The product — these are the results across all Italian audiences in 24 hours, updated to June 12th.
As you can see, with 37.5 — I repeat, individuals, so the entire Italian audience — we are absolutely the number one publisher. For the third consecutive year we have surpassed the public service competition, but I won't waste time — you know very well that we don't really care about the race; we compete with ourselves, especially in terms of advertising contacts.
It's great to see this trend. We are growing — sorry for the repetition — in contrast to most other broadcasters. It's the result of deep work and I think it can be said that it's a signal that we are the most modern television publisher today. Keep in mind that this resilience is in the world of television, but it also represents a great deal in the face of new platforms.
Then we put in place an offering model that resists more than that of other publishers. Second strategic line: the cross-media system. Nobody believed in it. The other broadcasters looked at us and said, 'What are you doing? They've diversified with digital businesses — dating, e-commerce, content for others.' We diversified not on the product but on the technology, trying to expand our ability to reach audiences and advertising contacts — what is defined as our reach.
Today, with 96.5 million Italians reached every week, we are absolutely the publisher, the platform with the most coverage — even more than the great web giants: YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video. This system works, and I tell you that from a commercial point of view it truly makes the difference. Today, compared to other countries, Italy has an advantage that is visible and noticeable in everyday work.
Let's move on to the most relevant strategic line, and also the one that in recent times has led us to do more and to give you more news. Europe — compared to the last time we met, which was only July 8th for the schedules — it seems like a universe has passed in terms of time as far as we're concerned. To understand better, look at how we were before and how we are today.
Population: before we addressed about 110 million people, today in reality more than 220 million people. Employees: from 5,244 to over 13,000. Total revenue: from nearly 3 billion to over 7 billion euros. Operating result: from 356 million to 729 million. I spoke at the beginning about having a new dimension. I'd say it can truly be said that it is so.
We have just started working on an integration plan with ProSieben on synergies that, as many of you first read and then wrote, we believe could bring us an improvement in terms of results of up to 315 million euros. I hope so, because I am and want to be optimistic even more, but it's already an important figure.
A lot of work to do — we've just started. The market already today understands and values what we've done, so much so that in terms of value we are superior to all other broadcasters.
Before closing, two considerations. Now the hard work begins. First, I'll talk about international development — it was a very complicated, very strategic and tactical job from a financial strategic line perspective. Today we must turn what is an excellent project into an innovative industrial reality, so a lot of work to become an innovative industrial reality at the European level.
The European economy is not in a particularly exciting moment — to put it mildly, it's under pressure. And if the European economy is under pressure, the media world in Europe is even more under stress, both because of the complicated economic situation and because of the terrible competition from the web giants that operate practically without rules. So we television broadcasters, all publishers — let's not talk about print — we must manage to resist, to survive these monsters that have a global dimension and that arrive and generate revenue in Europe and in individual countries with advantages over us, and that alone is a lot.
We are satisfied — honestly, yes, we are very satisfied from a technical, financial point of view. It couldn't have gone better. But do we feel fulfilled? Are we at ease? Can we at least for a little while stop looking around and rest on our laurels? Absolutely not, because our world is in constant motion, it's a complicated moment, and because we are an Italian company that has the courage and the ambition to have a real international project.
What I can assure you is that at MFE all of us are focused on the future, and I can also assure you that I think — but I know it's true — that MFE has the capability, the solidity, and the courage to create a group able to resist, to compete, and to grow at a global level. I thank you. [applause] Thank you. [music]
