Aaron Parnas opened by noting the ICC's warrant for Putin and a recent drone strike that killed a one-year-old in Kharkiv, then played a clip of Trump envoy Steve Witkoff calling Putin a humanitarian. Parnas said Witkoff's ninth meeting with Putin, held without standard diplomats, covered a diesel deal and fertilizer exports, and that the first diesel shipment to the U.S. had left. He reported Russia's release of Stephen Hubbard, a 75-year-old American teacher, and questioned whether Trump's sanctions stance was the price. On Starlink, Parnas cited a Wall Street Journal report that Musk ordered a slowdown in Ukraine, and quoted Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick demanding Musk come under oath, plus bipartisan senators asking the Pentagon's Inspector General to investigate. Parnas also reported Trump's push to replace the White House press briefing room with a swimming pool, and played a clip of Trump tying Camp Lejeune settlements to Republican control of Congress.

Vladimir Putin is wanted by the International Criminal Court for the deportation of Ukrainian children. His drones killed a one-year-old girl in her stroller this week, and today Donald Trump's special envoy looked him in the eye and said this: 'You are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that.' Republicans right now are demanding Elon Musk be put under oath over the Ukraine Starlink slowdown. The New York Times is reporting that Trump wants to kick the press out of the White House and replace the briefing room with a swimming pool, and so much more. As always, if you can, subscribe to support this work. Like, comment, share. We're going to have our big Trump-Russia investigation out likely tomorrow, and while I need your help to get the word out — it's going to ruffle feathers — that will not stop me.
Steve Witkoff met with Vladimir Putin inside of the Imperial Palace right outside of St. Petersburg overnight. It was his ninth meeting with the Russian president, and once again he showed up without the career diplomats and intelligence officers who normally attend talks like this. Here's how he opened, quote: 'You talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian. You are also a humanitarian, sir, and I salute that. I commend you, and I thank you again.' Now, you may think I'm making this up. You may think I'm crazy saying, 'Aaron, no U.S. official would ever praise Vladimir Putin as a quote humanitarian.' Well, take a listen.

This might be a good chance to see what he might say.

Let that sink in. The same week that Russia struck a park in Kharkiv and killed a baby girl named Alina in her stroller. The same week Russian strikes knocked out power across half of Ukraine as winter is approaching. That's who Trump's envoy is calling a humanitarian. And what did they talk about? According to accounts of the meeting, Witkoff thanked Putin on Trump's behalf for the diesel deal. They discussed expanding Russian fertilizer exports to the United States after the war, and Russian state media says that the first diesel shipment to the United States left yesterday. Business first, Ukraine later. Now, there is some good news here: Russia released Stephen Hubbard, a 75-year-old retired American teacher from Michigan who had been imprisoned for four years, and we should all be glad he's coming home. But let's listen to how Trump framed it. He said there was no swap, and the United States didn't give anything up. And then, in the same breath, he said that if the sanctions Congress passed had taken effect, these negotiations would have come to a complete and total halt. So the question is, which is it? Because it sounds like the price of Hubbard's freedom was Trump waving sanctions on Russia, and the Kremlin didn't budge an inch. Russian officials said that peace is theoretically possible only if Ukraine makes what they call necessary decisions. Otherwise, things will get, quote, worse for Ukraine. They also said a three-way meeting between Trump, Putin, and Xi Jinping is possible. A meeting about Ukraine's future without Ukraine. And President Zelenskyy's response was four words: 'Don't talk about us without us.' He said any deal has to involve him directly, and it has to be approved by Ukraine's parliament. He thanked the United States for restoring early warnings of Russian missile strikes, but he said access to Starshield, the military version of Starlink, is still limited.
Which brings us to Elon Musk. You remember the Wall Street Journal reported last night that Musk personally ordered the slowdown of Ukraine's military satellite network, and may have discussed it with Trump beforehand. Ukrainian officials said it left drones useless, helping Russian missiles get through. Now, Republicans want answers. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican, went on CNN and said that if Musk ordered Starlink to be slowed down, it could be a violation of the law, asking him to essentially come to Congress under oath, ordering the summoning of witnesses to get to the bottom of the matter. He said it cannot be swept under the rug.
